Chapter 94: yellow flag bar
He still has to show that he is a cautious person before they settle down. Also later when there is a shootout he is going to shoot with this gun. He is not like rock that can walk out of hundreds of bullets without even a single scratch.
He has to have a way to protect himself. They are going to go to the Thai port of the city Roanapur. You can saw that it is the city of the dead and their destination is the yellow flag bar with the bar owner Bao.
He is an ex-soldier from the Vietnam War, after he settled in Roanapur he opened up this yellow flag bar and this place serves as a neutral location where information is exchanged for a price.
As they are talking, in Thailand, at the Lagoon Company dry dock in Roanapur, Black Lagoon docks and the pirates disembark. Dutch orders "Rock" to come with, confusing him. Benny tells the salary man "Rock" that he means him, asking him if he wants to go out for a drink.
Vicky already got off the boat bickering with Revy about the cutlass that he did not return back to her. Vicky says that he is holding it for protection and returns it to her after he felt safe. So Revy becomes angerier.
"Hey return my cutlass. You are already a part of the crew right." Revy said with annoyed tone.
"No, I still did not feel safe here and I will hold on to it till I feel safe. Only then I will return it to you." Vicky said to her without changing face. Revy has long forgotten about rock that was brought over to get ransom.
They soon arrived at the yellow flag bar to get some drinks. Inside, Rock is surprised at the tense atmosphere and everyone carrying a gun with them, comparing it to a bar in cowboy westerns.
"Yep it looks just like that and this is what I have heard and came here to take a look. This suite my taste very much..." Vicky looked around for a few moments nodding his head and winking at the beauties present sitting on the lap of a thug that is gambling.
Complimenting Rock's analogy, Dutch spoke explaining the origins of this Yellow Flag bar. "It was founded by ARVN soldiers who then began taking in fugitive soldiers."
Exhausted, rock mutters softly "I do not like confrontations."
Vicky on the other hand ordered a drink that he knows and started to drink it while looking around casually. But his vigilance has never dropped even a little bit from the start to the end. Revy is also silent at this moment looking at Vicky with annoyance.
When Dutch left the yellow flag bar counter to make a call, Benny assured "Rock" "Dutch is a bit eccentric but cool headed" then he added few words about himself "I has partnered up with him for the past two years."
Rock observed that Benny seems different from everyone else in town. Benny started to talk about his own past as he recalled those memories. "I was at a university in Florida when I angered both the FBI and the mafia…."
When he was speaking about his past it was interrupting by Revy that finished his story and did not forget to boast about herself that she saved him before he could be violently killed by both mafia and FBI.
She then advises Benny not to reminisce and she started to pour a drink of rum for herself and Rock. Gulping down a glass, Revy claims that rum is tougher than beer, insulting Rock for lacking the guts to challenge a woman.
Vicky on the side knows that this is the plot correction and even with his attractive force Revy would still talk about rock and other things just like in the plot. Vicky stayed silent and watched as the things develop.
Soon it started to happen just like in the plot as rock fell for the provocation of Revy and they started a dinking contest, with all the people present started to make them drink more and more is if they are pounding Revy from behind.
Well Vicky also wanted to do that but for the time being he cannot do anything like that. He just waited for the EO company mercenaries to come over to start shooting. He doesn't mind saving the most beautiful lady here that is currently sitting on the lap of a thug.
Naturally saving her would give him access to play with her later without paying. He is not short of the little cash but free things look much better in comparison. Also most of the information is actually passed through the ears and mouths of this kind of woman that in grey industry.
So these connections are more important than pleasure to Vicky. He knows the plot but that did not mean that there is nothing going on behind the scenes. What you see in the plot of anime and comic is just what the author wanted you to see.
There are many things going on behind the scenes. Vicky just has to know these things and complete some side missions. For example at this same time line of this world there are other plots and anime that can happen like detective Conon. Kaito kid, Kaiji….
All these things happen in Japan which is not that far from this place. What Vicky has to do is to check out these things. If they are happening then he has to find a chance to go there and meet with those characters.
As long as he can meet them Vicky might trigger other missions and gain more profits in karma points. To get karma point he doesn't mind creating a nuclear disaster. To him these people are not living people. Even if this world is real he is still willing to kill them all.
