Chapter 10 – The Balance that does not unite
White energy and black energy.
Two absolute forces, two sovereigns capable of accomplishing almost anything in hands formidable enough to carry them.
White sparkles.
It illuminates, it orders, it structures.
It shines without ever conquering the spiritual void, because light cannot possess what it does not understand.
Black does not emit any shine.
Yet it is visible.
Not by light, but by absence.
Its space seems infinite, without edge, without limit, as if we could never see beyond it.
They meet.
Again.
Again.
They attract each other like two axes of the same infinity, come together, collide, fight each other in a majestic dance.
With each attempt, harmony is born... then shattered.
They don't reject each other.
They don't unite.
They recognize each other, without ever becoming one.
Because White refuses to disappear.
And the Black refuses to be contained.
---
Aliss is suffering.
The two energies overflow from her body and tear themselves away from her.
They spring, swirl, wrap around his being.
A cyclone is born.
A hurricane of white and black essences, fast, lively, unstable.
She is the center.
The pressure is so high that she could cough up blood with every breath.
Her body trembles, her organs scream, but she resists.
She endures.
Not far away, Caesar remains seated.
Calm.
Motionless.
As if nothing important was happening.
As if this chaos was, for him, only predictable disorder.
Aliss struggles.
Then… it stops.
She gives up the fight.
She lets go of fear.
She lets go of the pain, the time, the air she misses, the damage already inflicted on her body.
She forgets everything.
It becomes empty.
A total, deep, sincere emptiness.
An inner silence that swallows up even the will.
And the energies respond.
The cyclone slows down.
The flows calm down.
The overflow stops.
What fled comes back.
What destroyed becomes integrated.
The external agitation dissolves, the room regains its stillness, while the opposing forces retreat into Aliss' spiritual void.
Caesar watches, seemingly indifferent.
If it wasn't here, he thinks,
she would have already reduced my mansion to dust with her abnormal divine reserves.
---
The energies are stabilizing.
The more Aliss calms down, the more they harmonize.
The more they harmonize, the more she regains control.
A perfect cycle of cause and effect takes place, elevating him slowly, step by step.
They stop opposing each other head-on.
They stop looking for unity.
They organize themselves.
In the spiritual void, White and Black flow like fluid energy, arranging themselves without ever merging.
They form a balance similar to yin and yang ☯:
Two distinct, interdependent, inseparable forces.
A whole… which refuses uniformity.
A perfect balance… without fusion.
It's over.
Aliss is ready.
And above all — she is unique.
---
Suddenly, she spits out a huge spray of blood.
The moment the blood leaves his body, the void space created by Caesar dissolves.
She collapses before the blood even hits the ground.
Her body hits the stone, and the scarlet liquid envelopes her, forming a puddle beneath her, covering her skin, her clothes.
She loses consciousness.
His last thought cuts through nothingness:
I had forgotten...
How much it hurt.
---
Caesar comes out of the shadows.
He kneels down, carefully picks her up and takes her in his arms.
"Not bad," he murmurs.
Just a little worse than her, at her age...
But already better than most.
He disappears with her into the darkness.
A moment later, the light returns.
They are in the garden, in front of the big gate.
Caesar sighs.
Fatigue.
A little bored.
But deep in his eyes... a tiny hint of enthusiasm.
He raises his head to the sky and speaks in a neutral tone:
- Well…
It looks like I have to return to duty.
At least I won't be bored with such a little girl.
He looks down at the unconscious Aliss.
- Nothing.
Absolutely nothing should happen to this treasure.
She is an heiress.
And it is I who will give him the keys to open the doors of the castle of his glory.
An ancient heritage.
A family treasure.
And…
A tiny treasure.
