Crack!.
Both stopped in their tracks hearing that familiar sound.
Crackkk!!.
Lina shuddered from fear, as she glanced back.
KRAKKK!!!.
Hina's eyes widened as she quivered, not daring to look back.
"L-Lina, didn't you said that the Seal Of Eternity, cannot be broken... "
Hina knuckles turned pale, her instincts screamed at her to fled, but she couldn't bring herself to do so.
"Yes..."
Lina replied, her eyes filled with dread.
'Young master...j-just how much mana do you possess'
She watched Free with dread, her voice stuck in her throat.
Crack!.
The seal cracked Again.
A few minutes passed, as silence filled the room except, Lina didn't moved an inch while Hina chanted a powerful anti-mana spell, anticipating another immense aura to burst out, only to sense a faint amount of mana escaping from the seal on Free's neck, the glow on Free's body slowly faded.
"The seal is stable now....but the mana is leaking out"
Lina fell to her knees, her breathing gradually returning to normal.
"Thank the gods..."
Hina prayed, still trembling.
Slowly, she staggered beside Free, who slept soundly in the bed.
"B-but still. I can't believe the seal cracked..."
She placed a hand on his neck, checking the seal's crack.
"Me too"
Lina stood up, and crept beside Hina.
"Just how much mana does young master have? "
She asked, but as she expected, Hina didn't knew the answer.
Hina stood up and strided to the door.
"Let's go down for now, i'm very tired"
She walked out of the room with firm steps.
Lina slowly stood up to her feet, tilting her head down, looking at the peaceful face Free had when asleep.
"Young master...have a nice sleep"
Meanwhile downstairs, Hina cooked lunch with her hands still trembling, the sound of the seal being cracked haunted her like a nightmare.
'I should be happy....yes! I should be! Free's mana is almost sealed, he will be able to use magic because of the seal leaking his mana'
She tried to reassure herself with positive thoughts. Yet, her hands wouldn't stop trembling.
Lina stepped in the kitchen, her blue hair being a complete mess, Hina didn't asked seeing the sight, she just kept cooking.
"Lady hina"
Lina called, picking up a mop from the corner.
"Y-yes"
Hina responded, tilting her head slight towards Lina.
"I'm going to clean the living room"
She left, and Hina watched her entering the living room.
'She is still shaken by that incident... But she will get better'
She thought, watching Lina pacing the mop back and forth, her lips curved up a little and she hummed, chopping the carrots into tiny pieces
A few weeks passed after that incident, Lina at first examined Free whenever he was asleep, but she stopped after a few days seeing the seal containing his mana while releasing a tiny amount a normal person would have.
We eventually returned to our daily lives, doing chores and talking to while the stress and the dread of another burst faded into the laughter we were finally able to have after years of stress.
"THERE!"
Philip shouted, leapinng from one tree to another, chasing down multiple creatures with long, green pointed ear and a face any normal person would look away due to disgust—Goblins.
"OKOTO IT WENT THERE!"
Philip pointed, while Okoto jumped down from a tree branch, his hands gripped the hilt of his sword tightly.
[Malevolent Touch]
The goblins looked up and turned back to dodge—
Slash!.
The blade sliced through the goblin's body as though it were water.
Thud!.
It's body fell to the ground, black liquid spread in the ground painting the soil in dark, the other 4 flinched and sprinted toward the bush.
Slash!.
Okoto effortlessy swung his sword through their heads cutting down trees and a few boulder near them.
Thud!.
4 heads fell to the ground with a single slash, Philip descended down and ripped the core out of their chest.
"5 WITH THIS ONE!!"
Okoto celebrated, yelling like he just won a lifetime lottery.
"Those were the last of their group"
Philip informed, a wide grin on his face, he took out a knife and slicdd their right ears and drop them in a pouch. Then looked up, watching the sun's position.
"It's time for lunch"
"But i am not hungry, let's hunt some more!"
Okoto denied, still full of energy and hunger for battle.
"Hina's lunch or her rage, the choice is yours"
Philip gave a sweet smile, a little too sweetly.
"I-I am suddenly feeling hungry"
Okoto immediately approved, cleaning the dark blood on his blade.
"Good"
Philip nodded, he tucked the pouch into his pocket and marched back to the road that leads to the village.
Just as they started to walk a shadow hovered on their air.
"Hey you!"
The voice barked, Philip and Okoto turned back.
A man in silver armor, sitting on the back of a creature that wasn't a bird nor a monster, his helmet illuminated as sunlight alighted.
His chest bore a golden crest with a crimson crystal in the center. But it wasn't any oridinary crest, it was the crest of the royal family's, the Daelon's royal crest, those who had it were called...
"Holy...knight..."
Philip muttered, his eyes widened in shock.
"Holy shit, isn't he getting boiled inside!!"
He laughed, his shock wasn't fear nor the sudden appearance from the sky, it was because the knight's armor was hot inside, literally.
"YOU'RE DAMN RIGHT!!"
Okoto joined with a louder laugh.
"Have some manners"
The knight grumbled, taking the helmet off his head, and his face was soaked in sweat(obviously).
"I am too tired to even punish you"
He sighed, squeezing the temple of his nose.
"Anyway, why is someone like a Holy Knight here?"
Philip asked, trying to hold his laugh but failed.
"Yes, about that"
The knight nodded, and reached his hand behind his armor, pulling out a scroll and showed it to both of them.
"I am here to investigate on that strange disaster that occurred two weeks ago"
He told, and placed the scroll back to his bag.
"Ahhh...About the Yeet Incident? "
Okoto scratched his chin in deep thought, his smile slowly vanished.
"Yeet what?"
The knight repeated.
"The wave that yeeted everyone two weeks ago. Everyone called it the Yeet Incident, half the village fainted"
Okoto explained, deepin though with his eyes closed.
"Whatever..."
"After more than four hundred investigations from all around the kingdom, i came here because during my investigation all around the country, people were getting thrown to North, East, South and West as if a barrier was suddenly formed and it extend at a high speed affecting the whole kingdom and the village Hayan, was in the center of where everyone got yeeted"
"Wait, it did WHAT!"
Philip yelled from shock, unable to believe what he just heard.
"You mean that wave affected the whole kingdom!!"
"Yes, it did. Not just this Kingdom, but the neighbour Kingdoms too, though it was faint, many mages were terrified of it's raw uncontrolled aura"
The knight stated, his face twotched in irritation because of the loud scream.
"Now that is concerning"
Okoto commented, his hand tightened feeling the thrill.
'I wonder it that person is super strong'
The knight suddenly screamed and violently scratched his head.
"Just give me some info, I want to quickly go home and have some damn sleep! I have been travelling more than a thousand miles in that Skepia, do you know how hot it is up in the sky!!"
The knight exclaimed, with a loud voice and pointed one hand toward the bird like creature, while the other clutched his forehead.
"Woah woah. Okay man, but are you sure leaving without properly investigating the village"
Questioned and the knight nodded, admittibg he doesn't care anymore.
"Yeah i am, i've been investigating for weeks yet...no clue, except people pointing where that wave came from South till West"
He cursed under his breath, cratching dropping the helmet on the ground
"Okay okay!. we'll give it to you! "
Philip agreed, seeing the man angry and exhausted.
"This is gonna be troublesome"
He whispered to Okoto.
An hour passed, and the knight scribbled whatever word Philip and Okoto spouted out of their mouth.
"Thank you for the info!"
The holy knight waved, as the Skepia flapped it's wings and hovered above the sky for a few second before blitzing away with speed that looked like an arrow got fired.
"That was very hard"
Okoto yawned, stretching his shoulder, and cracking his knuckles, then stood up.
Meanwhile Philip looked around the place, scratching his head as if he forgot something, he looked up in the sky and after a few seconds, froze as realization hits.
"Uhh....O-Okoto"
Philip's face turned pale.
"What now!"
Okoto growled, already tired of the investigation.
"lunch?"
Philip muttered, before sprinting to the village like his life depended on it.
"What lunch? Just tha...."
Okoto froze, his words stuck as the realization slapped his face.
His face turned pale and he jolted up, sprinting to the village.
"Hina is gonna fry us!!"
Philip screamed, his while Okoto behind him ran so fast craters formed in the grouund.
[Adrenaline Burst: 1st form].
Philip's exploded forward, and he dashed at speed a normal person would have a hard time trying to see.
"Hey! That's cheating, using your special technique like that! "
Okoto called out, as he held his breath, sprinting faster than before.
By the end of all afternoon, the food was cold because Philip and Okoto were late by an hour, and Hina ended up scolding them for an hour.
To be continued....
