Chapter 387 - Plans and Arrangements

"City Lord, did you find anything else?"

Yunxi lifted her gaze as she asked.

Kun Sang shook his head. "Liu Moyan only knew this much."

Yunxi nodded, flicking her finger to summon a purple flame. Liu Moyan's body was instantly reduced to ash. She stood and said, "City Lord, I'll leave the rest to you. I need to visit the Feng family to give them some instructions."

Kun Sang didn't press for details. He escorted Yunxi out of the City Lord's Mansion, then went straight to the dungeon with a grim face. There were still cultivators inside who had allied with the evil cultivators, and he intended to extract every useful detail from them.

Meanwhile, Feng Feng was anxiously pacing at home. The disturbance in Kunyu City was so great that even if he wanted to pretend not to hear or see anything, it was impossible. He feared Yunxi had run into danger.

When he finally saw her arrive safe and unharmed, Feng Feng let out a breath of relief and quickly invited her to sit. "Is everything resolved? Have the evil cultivators been cleared out?"

Yunxi nodded, took the spirit tea he offered, and sipped before answering. "The announcement from the City Lord's Mansion explains most of it. What it doesn't say is that this entire scheme was targeted at me."

"You? Then the Wei family…"

"The Wei family wasn't spared either. Even though I moved them out of the Wei estate ahead of time, they still fell into the evil cultivators' trap."

Yunxi sighed.

"What happened exactly?" Feng Feng pressed.

"I discovered a evil formation outside the Wei estate. To lure out the traitors in the clan, I sent an clone back. I eliminated those possessed or in league with evil cultivators, then sent the rest into my portable medicine garden and had Dian Dian take them away. When the hidden evil cultivators activated their formation, I struck."

As Yunxi recounted the events, Feng Feng finally understood the danger she had faced. The evil cultivators' target wasn't just the Wei family but Yunxi herself. Even the City Lord was part of their elaborate plan.

His brows stayed tightly furrowed until she finished explaining. "Yunxi, you are clearly their primary target now. The Feng family is safe for the moment. You should return to Haoran Sect as soon as possible."

Yunxi nodded. "I intend to inform the Ancestor and head back to Haoran City. There are matters waiting for me there. But I worry the evil cultivators won't give up easily and might strike at the Feng family again."

Feng Feng understood that her concern was valid, yet he waved his hand. "The clan will handle it. You can't remain in Kunyu City forever to shield us. Our disciples cannot live in a greenhouse. They must weather storms sooner or later."

Yunxi rubbed her fingers thoughtfully, then sent a voice transmission. "Ancestor, I have a group of people—so secretive that even the Sect knows nothing of them. I'd like to leave them here to support the Feng family. But they've been away from the cultivation world for too long. It will take time for them to adapt. I'll need you to guide them."

"Are they trustworthy?" Feng Feng asked aloud.

"Yes. I saved their lives. They will follow my orders, but they'll need time."

"Good. Bring them to the back courtyard."

Yunxi agreed and immediately headed to the courtyard Feng Feng had mentioned.

She had originally planned to place the descendants of the Wu tribe with the Wei family. With her status there, informing the patriarch would have been enough. She wanted the Wu descendants to gradually replace the stationed Wei cultivators, remaining in Kunyu City under the guise of being a branch family. This would make them easier for her to control.

But now the Wei cultivators stationed in Kunyu City were all dead, targeted and eliminated by the evil cultivators. Sending the Wu descendants to replace them would be sending them to their deaths.

After careful thought, Yunxi decided to place them with the Feng family instead. It would indirectly strengthen the Feng clan and also fulfill her promise to the Wu tribe's Grand Elder.

Once she arrived at the courtyard, Yunxi ensured there were no prying eyes. With a thought, she released the Wu tribe survivors from her spatial storage and waved her sleeve, awakening them.

Yong and Qin were the first to open their eyes, looking dazedly around until their gazes locked on Yunxi.

But the Yunxi standing before them was completely different from the one they knew in the secret realm. They tensed instantly, gripping their bone weapons tightly and staring at her with suspicion.

Yunxi touched the Glazed Jade Mask on her face, switching to the visage she had used in the secret realm. She summoned the Nine Nether Dragon Umbrella into her hand and smiled faintly. "I altered my appearance for convenience."

She spoke fluently in the Wu tribe's language.

Only after confirming her identity several times did Yong and Qin relax and kneel with their tribesmen, bowing in gratitude.

Yunxi raised her hand lightly, lifting them with spiritual power. She then flicked out countless orbs of light, implanting them into their minds. "This is the universal language of the cultivation world. Until you fully master it, do not leave this place, or your identities will be exposed.

This is my maternal family, the Feng clan. Until you adapt to this world, stay here to cultivate. When you leave will depend on your own strength and readiness."

She then gestured for Feng Feng to come forward. "This is my great-grandfather, at mid-Golden Core, the Feng clan's Ancestor, and the equivalent of your Grand Elder. After I leave, you will follow his instructions."

"Yes!"

This time, their response was loud and united.

Yong and Qin looked hesitant, but Yunxi knew what they wanted to ask. She spoke directly."Your Grand Elder has returned to the embrace of the Wu God. To save you, she exhausted all her strength and worked with me to bring you out."

The Wu descendants' faces darkened with grief. Though they had anticipated this, hearing it confirmed still stung deeply.

"You knew this in your hearts. Your Grand Elder had been at her limit for some time. She endured only so that you could survive. Returning to the Wu God was her release.

Even if I wanted to take her back, I could not. The moment she left that place, the Heavenly Dao would have locked onto her, and she would have died instantly."

Yunxi's words broke Qin's composure, and she began to cry softly. Soon, sobs filled the courtyard. The men, including Yong and Xun, clenched their fists, their eyes red but refusing to weep.

Feng Feng didn't understand their words, but the grief emanating from the group was enough to make him sigh quietly.

After letting them mourn, Yunxi switched back to the cultivation world's language. "Your lives were bought with your Grand Elder's sacrifice. Do not let her efforts go to waste."

"Yes!"

This time, Yong spoke first. Qin wiped her tears and nodded firmly.

Yunxi, seeing everything was settled, handed Feng Feng a storage ring filled with spirit beast meat she had hunted. It would be enough to sustain the Wu tribe survivors as they adjusted. She explained their unique circumstances to Feng Feng in detail before slipping away from Kunyu City in silence.

She didn't bother with disguises. Riding her streak of light, she sped directly toward Haoran City. Not long after, two figures began trailing behind her.
