Chapter 87: A Deplorable Act

"You have?" Harry didn't seem too concerned.

Even if others learned the truth about his origins, there was nothing they could do about it.

It took him a while to figure out what occurred that night. The strange behavior of the dementors had been the biggest clue.

After Potter was hit by his curse, Voldemort saw something that looked like a soul coming out of a dementor's mouth and entering the boy's body.

After viewing his own memories over and over, Voldemort could only conclude that it was exactly what happened. That dementor must have stored a soul in its body without consuming it, and later on, allowed this one to inhabit Harry Potter's corpse.

The next mystery was knowing the identity of the soul inside Harry, but this was much easier to guess, as that list was very short since it must have been someone who had a way to control dementors to such an extreme.

Voldemort moved aside, not taking his eyes off him. "I have. And the fact that you are standing in this place, claiming it as your home, just confirmed my suspicions… Ekrizdis Skarvok!" This had been his first guess, and seeing Harry here just proved that he was right.

Following his words, the Dark Lord formed a deadly curse and sent it Harry's way.

Harry avoided it by moving aside. "You knew that and still decided to come here… you are either a fool or merely insane." His wand snapped in place. "Crucio!"

Voldemort conjured a wall in front of him to stop the spell before responding with his own. "Avada Kedavra!" Now that he was sure that his curse did indeed work the first time, he had no more reason to doubt himself.

Harry used the same method to stop the Killing Curse and conjured a large brick that exploded into pieces, then used these pieces as ammunition. "Depulso!"

Voldemort jumped to one side with surprising agility for having a newly formed body. "Ossio-Scinderus!" This was a painful curse that caused the bones to shatter inside the body, and their splinters would pierce through the skin of its victim.

"Fiendfyre!" Harry answered him by summoning the most dangerous of fire spells.

A dark crimson hand formed before Harry and took Voldemort's curse before flying toward the Dark Lord himself.

The fiery hand looked almost demonic in nature with its sharp, long nails, and as it approached Voldemort, the fingers began to close as if it was trying to get him in its deadly grasp.

"Aqua Magna." Voldemort moved backwards while summoning a gigantic sphere of water before him.

The fire and water collided, forming a massive amount of smoke that began to cover the area.

Voldemort used it as cover and aimed his wand at Harry before making some complex motion. "Aeternum Silentium," he said in a whisper.

A light grey spell shot out of his wand and moved at lightning speed until it hit its target.

Harry's vision had become occluded by the smoke, so it was impossible for him to see a spell of the same color coming his way.

Before he could react, something hit his chest, and immediately, he felt something happening to his mouth.

"Ahh… gg…" He tried to say something, but forming words had become impossible.

Voldemort let out a chuckle. "Looks like I finally got you, old man. That is an eternal silencing curse. You will never speak a word again…"

Harry knew that at this point, winning a magical duel would be impossible if he didn't have access to his deadliest curses, as these required vocal chants and could not be performed silently.

He glanced at Voldemort and could tell by his smug expression that he also knew this.

However… there were still many things that Voldemort didn't know about him.

One was that he never played fair, and another important one was… that he didn't need words to command his demons.

"Clank"

"Hmm?" Voldemort heard a metallic noise as something heavy fell next to him.

When he looked over, he only saw a small black sphere rolling towards him.

With no warning, the sphere exploded with a resounding loud noise. Fire and sharp pieces of metal were flung everywhere.

Voldemort screamed and fell several feet away, spreading his blood all over the floor.

"My Lord!"

"Noo!"

His followers cried.

And Harry had a wide smile on his face.

He now wished he could speak, so he could make Voldemort understand how he lost this fight.

But that may have proven difficult anyway, because of his lack of understanding of Muggle explosives.

"Urggg…" Voldemort groaned while still on the ground. When he looked down at his body, his eyes opened wide. "Y-You… how…" He didn't understand what happened.

One moment, he was standing over there, and now he was on the floor, burned and bleeding out from the stump left behind after his right leg was blown off.

His eyes moved to Harry, who was now holding a metallic device in his hand instead of his wand.

Voldemort did recognize that device and finally learned what Harry had done.

He had done the one thing that Voldemort didn't believe any wizard or witch would ever lower themselves to do… resort to Muggle weapons during a magic duel.

No wizard who had any respect for magic would ever do something like this, not even the darkest ones. They all viewed themselves as superior beings, and using an artifact created by Muggles would be nothing short of lowering themselves to their level.

But Harry cared little for this. He only wanted to win, at any cost, and using any available method to him.

Voldemort clenched his teeth with seething rage. His eyes shone brightly. "You… m-muggle… bast—"

Harry opened fire.

Bang! Bang! Bang! He emptied the clip of his semi-automatic gun into Voldemort's head and body.

He continued shooting until he could no longer do so, while the smile never left his face.

Voldemort died without being able to do anything about it, and his followers watched in horror from their flying brooms.

Just like Voldemort, they could never have guessed that Harry was going to do something as deplorable as this.

"That little bastard!" Bellatrix screamed. "I'm going to kill him!"

Harry glanced at them and raised a hand in the air.

They had no idea what he meant by that gesture, not until a few seconds later.

Half of the Death Eaters had decided to fly closer to Harry so they could kill him, while the other half remained behind, still unsure of what they should do now that their Lord had died in such an unceremonious way.

"Die!" Bella roared as she pointed her wand at Harry, still on her broom as she hovered above him. "Avada Ked—"

Before she could finish her words, something hit her from above, just as loud explosions started to be heard.

"Ahh!" All Death Eaters who had decided to approach the fortress were now being taken down by a shower of lead bullets falling from the sky.

They didn't even have a chance to see who was shooting at them before they were taken out and lost their grip on their brooms.
