"Something had changed within him, after our parents died. After their deaths, he grew an emotion within him that he hid very deeply within his heart. An emotion he hoped no one would ever find out about, but unfortunately for him I could see very well. That emotion was hatred!
Child, your uncle became a man who was fueled by hatred. Hatred of our dead parents. Hatred of the church. Hatred of the cursed witchcraft that our parents practiced. And lastly, hatred of me, his last remaining flesh and blood."
After speaking till here, he slowly got up from the ground, and said softly to the boy next to him. "Child, let's keep walking. I'll continue speaking on our way." He then grabbed the boy's left hand, with his right hand and hurriedly walked towards the direction opposite the one he came from, almost dragging the boy along, due to the boy being much smaller than him.
As they walked forward hurriedly, the man often looked behind him in worry every few steps that he took. After walking for a few minutes in silence, he continued speaking.
"While your uncle was making strides as a templar within the main branch of our Holy Emerald Wisdom Church, I was accompanying your dead grandparents, here in this quiet town.
But that all changed one day, when your mother, the future chief priestess of our Holy Emerald Wisdom Church came for a visit."
After his speech, he couldn't help but slow down his stride a bit, as his mind wandered to the past. The memories of his beloved woman caused him to become absent minded for a couple of seconds, before he quickly snapped out of his memories, and continued his hurried stride forward, after looking back towards the path that they just came through fearfully.
"Your mother was a very beautiful woman. The most beautiful woman that I have ever seen in my life. But now's not the time to talk about her beauty.
When your mother came for a visit, she, due to guilt, wanted to pay tribute to the graves of your grandparents. So I accompanied her on her stay at our place.
You see, the cause of your grandparents death was primarily due to the judgement of the chief priestess. Only the chief priestess could cast judgement on the crimes of the great templars of our church.
And since the current chief priestess who was nearing the end of her lifespan, sentenced your grandparents to death, the younger one feeling guilt and regret, decided to come to our home here to pay tribute to them, in hopes of making amends with the dead."
