Chapter 257 - The Strongest Sorcerer from Four Hundred Years Ago

Chapter 25 – The Strongest Sorcerer from Four Hundred Years Ago

While most of Tokyo Jujutsu High's forces were deployed to Shibuya, the Special Grade Cursed Spirit Mahito moved in silence.

Alongside the mysterious entity inhabiting Geto Suguru's body, they initiated the next stage of a plan that had long been crafted from the shadows.

— — —

Meanwhile, deep within the cursed barrier enveloping Shibuya's underground station, Gojo Satoru found himself staring at a scene that genuinely caught him off guard.

Amidst a sea of confused civilians, three men stood tall—like unshakable pillars on a battlefield.

Their presence was overwhelming. Each of their auras pressed heavily against the air, warping the space around them with a suffocating intensity.

The one standing to the left—Fushiguro Toji, the Tyrant of the Heavens—was instantly recognized by Gojo.

A man he had once killed with his own hands.

Now, somehow... he stood before him again.

The other two were strangers. But the cursed energy they radiated—immense, ancient, and violent—told Gojo everything he needed to know.

They weren't ordinary.

Especially the one in the center—his presence was terrifying.

Gojo hadn't felt this kind of pressure in a long time.

An unfamiliar sense of danger crept up his spine.

— — —

Gojo was certain: Toji, the assassin from the Zenin Clan, had been completely destroyed years ago.

Which could only mean one thing—

These three… had been resurrected through some forbidden art.

Ritual Vessel Possession.

— — —

But what exactly is Ritual Vessel Possession?

To understand that, one must first understand Cursed Objects.

A Cursed Object is a body part or relic that has absorbed a vast amount of cursed energy.

Examples include the 20 fingers of Ryomen Sukuna, or the Nine Death Painting Wombs.

Some of these objects even contain the original soul of their owner.

In Sukuna's case, each finger holds a piece of his consciousness, making them unbelievably dangerous.

Usually, Cursed Objects are sealed under Binding Vows to prevent them from harming humans or attracting spirits.

But Ritual Vessel Possession breaks those rules.

It is a forbidden technique that allows the soul trapped inside a Cursed Object to possess a human body, fully reviving the being from the past—along with all the power they once held.

A perfect example of this is Itadori Yuuji, the current vessel for the King of Curses, Ryomen Sukuna.

Unlike others, Itadori's unique constitution lets him suppress Sukuna—

But if an ordinary human had ingested one of those fingers… Sukuna would've returned entirely.

In short, this ritual is Jujutsu Kaisen's version of Edo Tensei from the Ninja World.

— — —

Outside of this ritual, Gojo couldn't think of any explanation.

These two strangers were simply too powerful to be from the modern era.

Which meant... someone had orchestrated this.

Someone with the means, knowledge, and insanity to revive monsters from ancient history.

Gojo tightened his focus.

These three weren't the final threat.

They were pieces.

Pieces on a much larger board.

— — —

The man in the center finally stepped forward.

He looked Gojo in the eye and spoke calmly.

"The Sorcerer with the Six Eyes… so you're the infamous Gojo Satoru.

You're not as impressive as I expected."

Gojo raised a brow, a small smirk curling at the edge of his lips.

"So you're… the legendary sorcerer from 400 years ago—Kashimo Hajime."

His gaze shifted to the muscular figure beside him.

"And that makes you…?"

Before Kashimo could answer, the man on the right stepped in.

"Ishigori Ryu. I probably lived about 600 years before your era."

Then, from the left, Toji Fushiguro spoke with folded arms and a cold voice.

"I assume I need no introduction. About that request I left you with back then… did you do it, Gojo Satoru?"

Gojo nodded softly.

"The boy is my student now.

His name is Fushiguro Megumi."

"Toji" whispered that name under his breath, his eyes distant.

Then, looking Gojo directly in the eye, he murmured:

"Thank you, Gojo Satoru."

A faint pause.

Then his expression changed. His voice turned serious.

"Be wary of Geto Suguru—

Or rather, the creature currently wearing his body.

I don't know who he is. I don't know where he's from. I don't know his true purpose..."

"But I do know this—

Whatever that thing is…

We're all just pieces in his game."

"And you might not believe a word I say... but I don't want you to die in vain."

Without hesitation, Toji raised his hand—

—and drove his fingers straight into his own temple.

Blood exploded from his skull as his body collapsed at Gojo's feet.

Toji Fushiguro died... once more.

— — —

Silence.

Gojo didn't move.

Kashimo and Ishigori barely glanced at the body.

They weren't shocked. They weren't sad.

To them, strength was everything.

They didn't care for comrades.

Didn't care for alliances.

Didn't care for names.

They had only one target—

Ryomen Sukuna.

The King of Curses.

Even Gojo Satoru, the strongest in modern times, wasn't their true opponent.

To them, he was nothing more than—

A warm-up.

They didn't care for His orders—the one possessing Geto's body—telling them to "stall Gojo for twenty minutes."

No.

Kashimo and Ishigori had every intention of killing him here and now.

Their mindset wasn't all that different from the arrogance Jogo once showed—right before he was annihilated by Gojo.

But was it truly arrogance?

Or were they simply confident?

After all, in their time, they were kings among men.

Their pride was forged in blood and victory—not delusion.

The only question now was—

Would that pride survive the storm named Gojo Satoru?

— — —

Elsewhere inside the barrier, the entity using Geto Suguru's body watched silently.

'Toji Fushiguro… as unreliable as expected,' he mused internally.

But none of this surprised him.

He had prepared for every scenario.

He'd chosen Shibuya for a reason—

A place where Gojo couldn't fully unleash his Domain Expansion.

The barrier was specially designed to weaken Unlimited Void's effect.

He'd even revived Kashimo Hajime early.

To him, just twenty minutes was enough.

— — —

If all external variables were removed…

If Gojo Satoru could fight under ideal conditions…

If he could activate Unlimited Void without restriction…

And if Kashimo Hajime unleashed his final technique—

Mythical Beast Amber—a forbidden, one-time ability that could only be used once in a lifetime…

Then the final question would be this:

In a duel between the two strongest Jujutsu Sorcerers in history, separated by four centuries...

Who would stand victorious?
