Chapter 25 – The Head Chef of the God of Destruction's Planet
When Beerus suddenly burst into tears, Whis—who was sitting right beside him—was completely stunned.
Seriously…? Aren't you exaggerating a little too much…?
Just what exactly did he eat…? Is it really that delicious?
Unable to believe it, Whis immediately followed suit. He reached out with a pair of chopsticks, picked up a slice of the same white meat Beerus had just eaten, and the moment it touched his tongue—
Whis didn't cry, but his expression went wild. Holding both cheeks with his hands, his face flushed with pure ecstasy as his body trembled, his waist swaying uncontrollably on the chair.
"So delicious… so incredibly delicious… Being able to taste something like this… I feel completely fulfilled…"
Standing nearby, Merus simply let out a relaxed sigh and gave Tachibana Kyūjō a thumbs-up.
It seemed his life was saved. In fact, there was now an extremely high chance that he would gain protection from the two most influential figures in all of Universe 7.
But Kyūjō, still dressed in his pristine white chef uniform, only raised both hands helplessly.
The dish they had just tasted was merely one of the appetizers—only one out of more than a hundred dishes he had prepared.
They hadn't even touched the main courses yet—the dishes that truly reflected the peak of his culinary mastery.
And so the feast began—and the two ravenous deities, Beerus and Whis, immediately went on the offensive.
The first thing to vanish from the table was the plate of sliced Cloudfish—the same rare fish they had sampled earlier.
Without caring at all about his status as an Angel or as the attendant of a God of Destruction, Whis wielded his chopsticks with such speed that countless afterimages flickered before their eyes.
In just a few minutes, the majority of the Cloudfish slices had already disappeared into Whis's stomach.
Seeing this, Beerus instantly grew furious.
But Whis didn't even spare him a glance. He simply reached for another dish with shining eyes, his body still swaying with a blissful expression plastered all over his face.
Beerus could only growl in frustration—but he refused to lose. He quickly joined the silent battlefield that unfolded—a fierce clash between two gods, fighting over food on the warzone known as "the dining table."
This battle without smoke or explosions lasted for about thirty minutes.
In the end, Beerus was forced to admit defeat.
Out of the more than a hundred dishes, the majority had been claimed by Whis's bottomless stomach.
Beerus managed to secure only about a third. Staring at the now-empty table filled with stacks of clean plates, Beerus glared at Whis with pure resentment, as if he was seconds away from challenging him to a duel.
Tachibana Kyūjō, who had watched everything from start to finish, could only mutter inwardly:
Whis using Ultra Instinct to grab food… how could Beerus's Selfish Ultra Ego possibly compete with that…

Suddenly, a loud impact echoed through the room.
Beerus, barely suppressing his anger, slammed his hand onto the metal table, leaving behind a deep, palm-shaped crater.
"Whis! You—! How can you eat that fast!?"
"Food this delicious should be savored slowly, not devoured like some starving beast! You're disrespecting the food! From now on, you're not allowed to do that again!"
"Ufufu~" Whis simply covered his mouth and let out a strange giggle.
He glanced sideways at Beerus and said, "Lord Beerus, look… you even damaged Mr. Kyūjō's table. Why? Are you not satisfied with the food?"
Before Beerus could retort, Whis shifted his gaze toward Tachibana Kyūjō, speaking sincerely:
"Thank you very much, Mr. Kyūjō. The dishes you prepared were truly extraordinary. I am completely satisfied. In all my life, I have never tasted food as wonderful as this…"
"As for Lord Beerus—well, he's always been like that. Quick-tempered and destructive. But don't worry, I can fix it."
As he said that, Whis bent down to pick up his staff—which he had tossed aside carelessly during the feast—then lightly tapped the dented table with its tip.
In an instant, a mysterious energy spread across the damaged surface, restoring it to perfect condition.
Tachibana Kyūjō: …
There was no need for that.
It was just a regular table…
Beerus: …
Whis… you truly have no shame…
Merus: …
Is this really the Brother Whis I know?
Ignoring the strange looks from everyone around him, Whis turned back to Tachibana Kyūjō with a gentle, sincere expression and offered his proposal.
"Mr. Kyūjō, since you no longer wish to remain a member of the Galactic Patrol… how about becoming the Head Chef on the God of Destruction's Planet? Would you be interested in such a position?"
Beerus: !!!
Why didn't I think of that!? Whis… I have to admit, that's a brilliant idea!
If we bring this Saiyan to the God of Destruction's Planet, wouldn't that mean we can enjoy delicious meals like this every day!?
Of course, Kyūjō had already anticipated this offer. With the culinary talent he had displayed, there was no way these two food-loving deities would let him slip away.
Besides, accepting the offer came with tremendous benefits.
In the original story, Goku and Vegeta trained on the God of Destruction's Planet for years, eventually mastering Ultra Instinct and Ultra Ego.
And now, that opportunity had appeared right in front of him.
There was no way he could turn it down.
As for traveling across universes in search of stronger opponents—that was something he could do after spending a few years developing himself on the God of Destruction's Planet.
After thinking it over, Tachibana Kyūjō finally replied:
"Whis-san, I'm willing to accept your invitation. But… I have a few conditions. If someday I wish to leave, you must allow it. And I want both you and Lord Beerus to train me in martial arts."
Before Whis could respond, Beerus impatiently cut in:
"As long as you can provide meals as delicious as today—of the same quality—every single day, I agree! But you must stay on the God of Destruction's Planet for at least three years!"
Kyūjō's face stiffened. With a resigned tone, he replied:
"Lord Beerus, today's banquet took more than twenty hours to prepare. There were over a hundred dishes. If I have to cook that much every day, I won't have time to do anything else. At most… ten dishes a day. No more."
Hearing that, Whis simply chuckled softly and said with a gentle smile:
"Mr. Kyūjō, how about twenty dishes? Ten for me, ten for Lord Beerus. And if I'm not mistaken, you already have traces of Ultra Instinct within you. And that technique… Lord Beerus cannot teach it."
"Hmph!" Beerus snorted, looking annoyed. He immediately shot back in a loud voice:
"Ultra Instinct? So what? It's not that impressive! I believe the power of the Saiyan race suits us Gods of Destruction better. Ultra Ego fits them far more!"
Tachibana Kyūjō: …Honestly, I've been a genius since I was young. So mastering both Ultra Instinct and Ultra Ego… shouldn't be impossible, right?
