People at the market stood quiet at the mans sudden appearance. It seemed that the lead guard had come back.
Cole took a bite of an apple and leaned against a stall. He was calming down the villagers, letting them know there was no danger. As he was doing so his gaze slowly went to the light haired foreigner who had appeared recently. Deciding to go greet them, he got back up on his feet and started approaching the girl and Ellen.
"Good day ladies."
He said looking at the light haired girl, then he noticed a spider on her shoulder. He felt an ominous energy coming from it, close to the energy of the demon creatures he saw yesterday doing his business. His hand instinctively went to the hilt of his sword.
Misa noticed the gesture and got slightly frightened, grandma Ellen also confused, having finished picking the fresh tomatoes.
Ellen tilted her head and held the basket in her arms.
"Good evening Cole"
Noticing that Ellen no longer seemed tense, Misa calmed and looked into Cole's dark brown eyes.
"Hello" She said calmly.
Cole lifted his eyebrow and gestured with his hand at the spider.
"Why are you carrying that thing with you?"
His eyes looked confused and then he raised his head again to another distance.
A light breeze approached them, the sounds of hurried footsteps came. A bright energy could be felt in the air, Cole recognised it immediately.
A light haired messenger wearing the Viapro emblem on a black cape came running to them towards Cole. Out of breath he mumbled out some words "Sir", "Cole" and lastly "Kiwi".
Cole turned and faced his henchman's out of breath face. As if his eyes were taking in the sight and then placing his hand in front of his mouth giving a slight cough.
"Jeremiah, speak properly like you were taught."
The light haired knight, Jeremiah finally caught his breath and took the letter out of his pocket.
"It's a good thing you came back today, we received a letter from the Kiwi village."
He said while giving the letter over to Cole's hands.
During the whole exchange Misa had been listening intently, the spider looking like it had been listening intently too. She turned her head to look at Jeremiah and she had been in awe ever since she saw his looks.
Cole held the letter carefully and looked from Jeremiah to Misa and Ellen who had seen the whole exchange.
"If you wouldn't mind lady Ellen, would you come with me?"
He asked politely, gripping onto the letter as if knowing what was written inside.
Ellen held the basket and looked at Cole, her old face turning a bit sour.
"Okay, though Misa will come with us. I can't let the poor girl return home all alone."
..
The guard station seemed the same as the day Misa entered the village. Misa and Ellen sat in the meeting room with 4 seats as a lady with black hair placed tea cups down, seeming to prepare for a meeting. A few minutes passed by as Cole came into the room finally a sigh coming from his mouth.
The light haired messenger entered the room a bit after Cole had with a few papers placing them down onto the center of the table. Jeremiah took a short glance at Cole and then sat down.
The atmosphere seemed tight until Cole finally sat down holding the letter.
"Lady Ellen, we have some news for you. They are related to the village of Kiwi..It's a request."
Cole gave the letter over to Ellen carefully. Ellen took the letter carefully, words written:
The words written could only mean one thing - Demons.
Cole looked at Ellens reaction and then drank a bit of tea.
"You understand, don't you?"
She held onto the letter and turned her head to look at the lead guard.
"Yes, I do. It appears the situation had become more serious than before.."
He gripped the tea more tightly and nodded carefully.
"It started out with a few ambushes, but it seems like the demons have become more agitated recently."
...
It seemed that everyone in the room understood the meaning of the words and prepared for it accordingly. Jeremiah wrote a letter containing an answer, Ellen and Cole spoke of possible needed potions and guards.
The light haired girl who had been sitting still listening carefully was the only one with no clue what to do. She had silently hoped to get a pass to head home, but no one even looked at her. Like she was looking at the situation from a window. The spider had moved from her shoulder onto the table tasting the tea. Misa looked at the spiders actions and decided not to drink from it now...
A few more mightly long minutes passed and finally Ellen looked towards Misa.
"Misa dear, could you head back to the village and fetch some herbs?"
....
Holding a brand new fancy basket with the spider in it and a paper in her other hand. It had a few directions and ingredients written down that Misa hadn't even heard of.
The village seemed a bit quieter now that the sun was setting down. She entered a ingredient shop the list directed her to go to..
A lot of jars.
Her eyes widened slightly as she stepped in more and looked at the jars.. Eyeballs, fingernails, scales...
"Oh my lord-"
"You there!"
Misa shivered out of fright and turned around, but found nothing. Well until she looked down and saw a girl with pointy ears and purplish hair.
"You don't seem like a regular customer"
The girl tilted her head and chuckled looking at the piece of paper noticing the familiar hand writing.
"Ohhh~ You must be a friend of Ellens!"
Misa stood there and placed a hand over her own chest calming down. That really caught her off guard.
Thankfully the girl was kind and quickly searched the ingredients for her. It didn't take that long, the girl seemed grateful to have a new face come into the shop.
With the basket full Misa left the shop walking down the dark street. The spider had already fallen asleep which meant she was basically alone. She took a breath and walked along the street until she saw a knight sitting down under a building. "Huh?"
She approached the man, just out of politeness to ask if he was okay. She stopped in her tracks and blinked again. The knight had completely disappeared out of sight.
