"Why is your face so red?"
Sunny frowned, his voice laced with genuine confusion. He leaned forward. Before Nyx could react, he raised a hand and placed the back of his gloved fingers gently against her forehead.
"You are warm," he noted. "Do you have a fever?"
Nyx froze. The touch of his hand was cool, a stark contrast to the heat spreading across her cheeks.
Her heart hammered against her ribs so hard she feared it might crack her ribs.
"I am alright, W-what did y-you mean by… the idea of L-love?" she stammered, her mind still reeling from his earlier statement about a 'reward.'
Sunny pulled his hand back, satisfied that she wasn't sick.
"Oh, that," he replied casually, as if discussing the weather. "I was talking about the proposal you presented at the inauguration of the City. The Avatar Protocol. The concept of letting Gods visit the mortal world to find genuine connection. That was your idea, was it not?"
