Sunny moved on from the Royal Academy, seeking something quieter.
He drifted toward the Forest of Origins, a place of magic where technology had not yet encroached.
In the center of the forest stood a titan. Veylara, the World Tree. Her branches pierced the clouds, and her roots drank from the planet's core.
Sunny approached the base of the tree, intending to check on Veylara. But he stopped when he saw two figures sitting among the giant roots.
One was Veylara's avatar, a beautiful woman made of wood and light, with leaves for hair.
The other was an Unchained Demon, a female warrior with crimson skin and horns, named Laira. She was sharpening a massive greatsword, her expression focused.
"Laira," Veylara's soft voice rustled like wind through leaves. "When are you going to find a partner, marry him, bear his children, grow together, love each other till eternity...? That sounds beautiful."
