Chapter 306 Gordon, Concert

The warship floated on the sea surface outside the island. Brett stood on deck, quietly gazing at the nearby island.

What first entered his view was a massive performance venue.

Huge pillars of glass-like material curved upward, crossing each other to form a dome that covered the venue below.

The venue's center held an inland sea. At its far end stood a luxurious stage, surrounded by densely packed seats.

Only Brett's eyes were sharp enough—he immediately noticed this luxurious venue was now filled with decay.

Some areas had probably become shabby from the attack five years ago. More areas were already covered in a layer of vegetation, looking weathered by time.

"I still remember when I was small, reading in newspapers about the world's top singers holding concerts at this venue."

Tesoro stood beside Brett, also gazing at that massive venue, speaking somewhat dazedly. "Back then I thought, when I grow up, I'll definitely hold a concert here too. I'll make the whole world come listen to my voice."

Brett vaguely remembered Tesoro's childhood hadn't been particularly happy. Though he'd always loved singing, his mother hated his voice. The guy had even run away from home because of it.

"It's still not too late," Brett said.

"Hahaha, you're right!"

Tesoro laughed heartily.

"Stop chatting. Let's go take a good look at this island first!"

Queen Otohime walked over with a smile. "I can't wait to see it—where Uta grew up."

"Then let's go."

Brett rolled his neck. "I'm already prepared too."

"This really is—"

Tesoro also loosened up his body. He snapped his fingers, and large amounts of gold dust floated into the sky from the cabin. "Brett, you're sure there's no problem, right?"

"In any case, leave everything to me."

Brett chuckled lightly.

The warship docked at the coast. Everyone disembarked and set foot on this island that had been abandoned for a full five years.

"Alright, Uta, you can go find who you want to find now."

Queen Otohime smiled and patted the songstress's head.

"Hmph."

The little girl swatted Otohime's hand away, then couldn't wait to run toward the island's interior.

"Gordon!! I'm back!!"

She shouted happily.

Brett and the others followed behind her, advancing toward the island's depths. They passed through dilapidated residential areas, followed winding roads, and came to the front of a classical castle located at the island's highest point.

"Who's there?"

Probably finally hearing Uta's voice, the castle doors—still covered in dust—were pushed open, and a somewhat elderly figure walked out.

"Uta! Is that Uta?"

The man's voice carried considerable excitement.

"It's me! I'm back!"

Uta happily rushed forward. "Did you see? I've already become a world-famous songstress!"

"Of course!"

The man named Gordon nodded repeatedly with excitement. "I specifically left Elegia once to go outside and buy visual transponder snails. I watched every one of your performances!"

"You were wonderful, Uta! Really wonderful! You successfully used your voice to move this world!"

"Gordon?"

Tesoro, walking behind them, looked thoughtful. "I've heard that name. He seems to be the Music Kingdom of Elegia's last king, originally this country's finest musician. So he's actually still alive?"

"Looking at it this way, the two residents the newspapers said this country had left must be him and Uta."

"So, in other words—"

Brett raised an eyebrow. "He's Uta's real teacher, right? Indeed, only a man like this could have taught a disciple like Uta."

Tesoro glared viciously at Brett.

Brett laughed heartily.

This guy constantly positioned himself as Uta's teacher, but unfortunately, he'd never received Uta's recognition. This had always been something that infuriated him.

"Welcome, everyone."

After exchanging a few words with Uta, Gordon turned to look at Brett and the others behind her. He said happily, "All Stars members, as well as Tesoro-san and Brett-sama, thank you for taking care of Uta."

He'd thought this place would be extremely isolated and cut off, yet he still knew news from outside.

"It's nothing."

Queen Otohime smiled. "After all, Uta's so adorable. I really wish I had a daughter like her."

Uta wore an expression like this was only natural. Brett sighed inwardly—she'd definitely grown completely accustomed to it.

"That's right."

Tesoro also smiled. "I've always treated Uta as my disciple. You know, this child possesses dreamlike talent."

At Tesoro's statement, Uta rolled her eyes in response.

"Hahahaha, indeed! This child possesses unparalleled talent. She was born for singing!"

Yet Gordon was very happy. What better news than recognition from the company boss?

"In any case, to welcome everyone's arrival, let me hold a banquet!"

This Music Kingdom's last monarch said happily.

After Uta left, living here alone, he'd probably felt lonely.

Brett naturally had no objections.

Though calling it a banquet, it was actually just ordinary home-meal level. After all, this island's permanent population consisted of only Gordon. There really wasn't much food stored.

Gordon felt quite apologetic about this. "I'm truly very sorry. To properly welcome everyone, it should have been a more wonderful banquet."

"It's fine."

Brett smiled unconcernedly. "Since we've come to the Music Kingdom, if we can't fill our stomachs with delicious food, then let's do it with wonderful music."

Since Uta's attribute was songstress, and this country was the Music Kingdom, then naturally the monster in Shyarly's prophecy should also be music-related, right?

"Exactly right!"

Tesoro slapped the table forcefully. "Let's hold a concert on this island where all the world's musicians once yearned to be!"

He'd just said he wanted to hold a concert here! Now wasn't the opportunity right here?

"That's certainly no problem!"

Gordon said joyfully. "Or rather, how wonderful! This country hasn't had a concert in such a long time!"

That had once been a common sight in this country.

They did what they said. After the brief banquet ended, the group came to the dilapidated Elegia concert venue, preparing to hold a simple concert there.

Though for security reasons they couldn't broadcast live, Tesoro still planned to record this concert and sell it afterward.

However, it probably wouldn't be that easy.
