Chapter 383 Dealing With Kaido
The war ended just like that.
The Beasts Pirates' number one, two, and four fighters had completely lost ability to continue fighting.
Though number three Queen still possessed combat ability, he'd lost the courage to continue.
This corpulent man had already released his ability, collapsing to the ground, allowing samurai to fasten seastone shackles on him.
What a joke! How could he possibly fight that monster?!
Kaido-san had been easily defeated by that bastard Brett! How could he possibly win?
Fighting that monster would probably mean complete defeat with just one punch.
Though regrettable, the Beasts Pirates had indeed been defeated here.
What would happen next remained unknown.
Feeling his body weaken under seastone suppression, Queen lamented silently.
"Finally, finally—"
The man named Denjiro now knelt on the ground. Large tears flowed unstoppably from his eyes, mixing with snot and falling to the ground. His face had become a blur.
"Lord Oden!!"
Suddenly he raised his head, as if proclaiming to the heavens. "We did it!"
Finally reclaimed this nation! Finally defeated the Beasts Pirates!
After confirming all Beasts Pirates members were restrained, many samurai began crying loudly.
From today, this nation would finally welcome change.
The people wouldn't need to risk everything for one mouthful of food, one mouthful of clean water. Wouldn't need to struggle for survival like stray dogs in the wasteland.
Peace and tranquility would descend upon this nation again.
Kawamatsu, Nekomamushi, Inuarashi, and Hyogoro—everyone couldn't help shedding tears silently.
Too long. Far too long. From the day this nation plunged into hell until now—truly far too long.
So long that people had forgotten what peace looked like. Could no longer remember Wano's former green mountains and clear waters.
And now, light had finally arrived.
How could this not bring tears?
"Wow, these guys—"
At the battlefield's edge, Tesoro curled his lip disdainfully. "All of them chanting about Kozuki Oden. Wasn't it you who defeated Kaido?"
"Doesn't matter."
Brett smiled.
Kozuki Oden or not—Brett didn't care at all.
In fact, he didn't particularly care about this nation either. What mattered was Pluton currently located deep beneath Wano in the magma sea.
Brett didn't possess such lofty goals as human unity. As a Fish-Man this life, he simply wanted his people to live freely on the seas. Overthrowing the World Government was merely incidental.
"Brett!!"
Yamato ran over with a smile. "Thank you so much! Without you, we couldn't possibly have won this victory!"
"It's nothing. This was promised long ago."
Brett winked at Yamato. "A man never breaks his word, right?"
"Hehe."
Yamato laughed heartily. "Anyway Brett, if you need help with anything in the future, just ask!"
She pounded her chest. "Through fire and water without hesitation!"
Brett had no doubt about Yamato's promise.
"What are your plans afterward?"
Brett asked. "How do you plan to handle Kaido and the others?"
The Beasts Pirates officers hadn't died. Even King, knocked into the sea, had been fished out.
Though now all restrained with high-purity seastone, without proper handling, problems could emerge later.
"Umm..."
Yamato immediately looked troubled. Her pretty nose wrinkled into fine lines. "Let's lock them up first."
"Kawamatsu and the others really hate bastard father. Bastard father is indeed a despicable piece of trash, but—"
But trash or not, he remained Yamato's biological father after all.
Brett understood the dilemma facing Yamato and Kawamatsu.
Given the hatred between Kaido and the Kozuki family, naturally after victory Kaido should be executed to comfort Kozuki Oden's spirit.
But the troublesome issue was Kaido being Yamato's father, while Yamato would inherit the Shogun position.
Though Yamato had turned against Kaido, personally ordering her father's death seemed excessively cruel.
But keeping them imprisoned forever raised fears of future problems.
After all, if Kaido regained freedom, no one in Wano could stop him.
Feeling troubled was perfectly natural.
"In that case—"
Brett said. "Leave Kaido and the others to me."
"Eh?"
Yamato's eyes widened in shock. "Is that okay?"
"Of course."
Brett's lips curved. "Rather than letting the Beasts Pirates just disappear, might as well put them to some use."
"Wow, Brett..."
Yamato showed a slightly disgusted expression. "You're planning something, aren't you?"
Brett returned a brilliant smile.
"Fine, then take bastard father and the others away!"
Yamato placed both hands on her hips solemnly. "But don't let them return to this nation."
"Don't worry. I won't let them disturb Wano again."
Brett said with a smile.
"Okay."
Yamato nodded.
"Next you'll assume this nation's Shogun position, right? Are you ready?"
Yamato scratched her face with one finger, somewhat embarrassed. "Kawamatsu and the others did teach me a lot, but... I still feel somewhat nervous."
No wonder. This woman had never been the brainy type. Having her fight—naturally she'd be fearless. But governing a nation proved too difficult.
"However—"
The next instant Yamato showed a refreshing smile, raising her fist. "I won't fear any difficulty! Since I said I'd open this nation, I'll definitely do it!"
"Yes."
Brett nodded with a smile. "You'll definitely accomplish it."
"Hehe."
Yamato went off grinning to find Kawamatsu and the others. Time to announce the Beasts Pirates' defeat to the nation.
"You think highly of this girl." Tesoro said with a laugh.
"Didn't you see her strength just now?"
"Her strength is indeed extraordinary, but I don't think she can govern a nation well."
"Doesn't matter. The Kozuki retainers will support her. Because I'm supporting her too."
"Hahaha! True—with you supporting her, who'd dare question her authority?"
Tesoro laughed heartily. "So then, how do you plan to handle Kaido and the others?"
"Well..."
