Chapter 385 With the Beasts Pirates
Before news of the battle fought beyond Onigashima spread across the seas, somewhere in the New World's skies—
A massive cloud mass flew forward at jaw-dropping speed.
This was absolutely not speed ordinary clouds could achieve—more like a vehicle racing through the sky.
Of course these weren't ordinary clouds. After all, Brett currently sat cross-legged at the cloud's forefront.
Behind him, a group of people were wrapped in clouds, passively carried along.
"Brett! What the hell do you want?!"
The mask concealing his true appearance had long shattered. The man called King now revealed his real face.
Brown skin. White hair. Black wings. Plus flames burning behind his head—his Lunarian identity could no longer be hidden.
This guy had been brutally knocked into the sea by Yamato during the previous war, but actually his injuries weren't severe enough to prevent movement.
After being fished out and briefly recovering, he'd awakened from unconsciousness.
But naturally, even a race called gods—after being fitted with seastone shackles—could no longer move.
Though now he could only weakly glare at Brett's back, his mouth showed no sign of submission.
"No need for such aggressive tone, King."
Brett didn't turn around, simply saying calmly, "I think you should all thank me properly. Otherwise you'd already be on Wano's chopping block."
"We never asked for your help!"
The fierce girl shrieked loudly.
Called Ulti, right?
Future member of the Beasts Pirates' Tobi Roppo.
"That's right!!"
Another large fellow wrapped like a dumpling also said stuffily, "Don't think we'll bow to you!"
It was Jack.
This kid had been knocked unconscious earlier by Brett's lightning strike, but with an Ancient Zoan's thick hide, simple lightning naturally couldn't cause fatal injury. He'd quickly recovered.
"Hey! You idiots keep it down!"
Queen was sweating profusely with anxiety. If he weren't currently bound by seastone chains, he'd crawl over and slap each of these fools.
They'd thought it was over earlier. Now they finally had a chance at survival—why keep talking back to Brett?
Did these bastards understand the current situation? Now including Kaido-san, everyone had become prisoners!
Everyone's lives were controlled by this Brett guy!
Forget immediately groveling—couldn't they at least have better attitudes?
"Don't mind these bastards' stubbornness, Brett-sama!"
Queen smiled ingratiatingly. "Whatever you need us to do, just say it."
"Queen-san—"
Jack, who'd always respected Queen, now felt speechless.
The more hot-tempered Ulti roared even louder. "Hey, you fat bastard! Your spine's too soft! Who gave you permission to kneel to this bastard?!"
"Ignore that idiot. If he wants to submit, let him."
King said coldly. "This guy's just that kind of trash anyway."
"Hey! You bastards don't understand my good intentions at all!"
Queen roared furiously. "I'm doing this so everyone can survive!"
This group just started arguing amongst themselves.
"Hahaha! This differs from what I've heard."
Tesoro—sitting beside Brett—laughed heartily. "I heard the Beasts Pirates were very united."
Brett's lips twitched.
Don't they understand their current situation?
Enough already.
He shook his head, then raised his voice slightly. "Say something, Kaido. At least one thing to tell me, right?"
"Kaido-san!"
King froze slightly, then suddenly turned his head.
That massive figure was currently sunk deep in clouds, already bound tightly by thick seastone chains.
He didn't move.
But soon a voice rang out. "At this point, what can I possibly say?"
"Truly Kaido of the Beasts. Truly the world-famous strongest creature." Tesoro felt somewhat surprised.
Even after receiving such injuries, after simple wound treatment, he could still respond to Brett with such vigor!
Doflamingo still lay there like a dead dog!
Though now the title of strongest creature should belong to Brett, Tesoro chuckled silently.
Kaido said coldly, "The only thing to say is—Brett, you bastard definitely won. I completely lost to you. Is that enough?"
"Kaido-san—"
King gritted his teeth.
He recalled that Kaido-san who'd brought him running from the Navy research base back then.
That Kaido-san had been spirited and fearless.
So King believed he was that legendary Joy Boy.
But now, the man he'd believed was Joy Boy acknowledged his defeat.
"Can't be helped, King."
Kaido heard King's voice. He snorted coldly. "You saw this bastard's strength too. I really can't beat him."
"But I find it hard to believe—Brett, you bastard are actually the legendary Joy Boy!"
"Joy Boy?"
Brett turned around, smiling as he raised an eyebrow. "What brings this up?"
No matter what, Joy Boy shouldn't be him. He wasn't a Rubber Fruit user. Didn't have the ability to hear the Voice of All Things. Not even a D.
"Whoever defeats me is naturally Joy Boy."
Kaido said matter-of-factly. "After all, you bastard are definitely opposing the Government!"
Though enemies, Kaido acknowledged Brett's strength.
Among the Government's enemies, this guy had the best chance of victory. If he wasn't this era's Joy Boy, who else qualified?
"Think what you want."
Brett didn't particularly care about the Joy Boy matter. This world already differed vastly from the original manga.
Why? Because he'd arrived.
"Now let's discuss what comes next, Kaido."
Brett said calmly. "Logically, I should sink you all to the ocean floor right now."
Queen's body instantly trembled.
No way! Were they really done for?
Kaido-san, just speak some soft words! How about begging Brett for forgiveness?
"Then why don't you hurry up and do it?"
But unfortunately, Kaido was Kaido. He only sneered in response to Brett, showing no intention of bowing.
Brett never expected Kaido to bow to him anyway.
A man called Emperor choosing submission would be the strange thing. Without will like steel, one absolutely couldn't forge such powerful Haki.
"Because I reconsidered—if I let you die like this, wouldn't that be too easy on you?"
Brett smiled. "So I had a new idea."
"Want to talk about it?"
"Don't say foolish things. Do you expect me to submit to you?" Kaido sneered.
"No, that last line wasn't for you."
Brett smiled. "King—want to talk?"
"What?"
King froze.
