Chapter 81 - ‘Minors are easy, Majors are hard’ Part 2:

Author's Note: I am not an editor or a professional writer. I will write this and edit it to the best of my ability. I also do not own Uma Musume, which is owned by Cygames. Watch the animes and read the mangas, for they are pretty good. Finally, please enjoy.

Agnes Digital POV

Tomorrow is the second tournament, and the broadcast last time might have failed on the big sites, but the broadcast worked very well in the chat groups. Now I'm working with Transcend, Gold Ship, Curren Chan, and Air Shakur. We created a website to broadcast the races, but we had trouble connecting the stream all the way to Argentina. That's when, one day, Shakur came to where we were setting this up, and with her came a bunch of people. She brought Fine Motion, King Halo, Taiki Shuttle, Seiun Sky, and Nishino Flower.

All of them held parts of a machine as they stood surrounding Flower. She spoke, saying," I hear from Shakur you're trying to broadcast the FSRL Super Major in Buenos Aires. I began stuttering, but Sky interrupted me, saying," Calm down, Digital, we're actually here to help you guys." I did just that and asked," How do you girls know about the league? It's not very famous here in Japan just yet cause it's NRA territory, and you girls don't seem like the type to go deep on the internet to look for broadcasts?"

King responded," Because the man known by the world as Red Bloomberg is Flower's father. She is the heir and princess of the FSRL." I was speechless, and so was everyone else with me, as she wasn't lying either. I've watched every Uma Musume in this school and memorized every quirk they had. I know what tells King has when she's lying.

I then asked," Flower, how was it being raised as the heir to the FSRL?" She giggled and answered," Silly, I wasn't raised as the heir; I was raised to be the best version of myself. Daddy and mommy didn't even tell me I was heir, they just forgot I'm called the girl genius for more than just my racing abilities. These girls were also surprised that I figured it out, even with them not being good at hiding it." They all made awkward, funny faces as she said that.

I then spoke, saying," So we need to connect and broadcast this tournament without being disconnected and blocked. We also need to advertise this without being found out." Flower smiled and announced," Okay, let's get started." Soon, Shakur got permission to use the school's reception towers, and King called her grandfather to find a way to connect the broadcast to Japan. Flower even got her dad to strengthen the broadcast by making them work with the Bloody Broncos' broadcast team.

Her dad was so shocked when she admitted she knew, but he was also so proud of her. Soon, we got the broadcast set up for the day, but now we had to advertise it. We used the same streamers and VTubers as last time to advertise an event at a website we're hosting. They also promised to stream on our site during the event. Transcend even made an app and QR codes that don't work until the broadcast begins.

We also ran social media ads and used our celebrity friends to promote the event and be part of it. We had them do it through word of mouth, not social media. Still, our download data and website visits were high, and soon the event was about to begin. Curren Chan, Transcend, and Gold Ship were broadcasting, and the rest of us worked behind the scenes.

Still, we had to make sure none of those loyal to the NRL and the Gold Family Mafia, or GFM from now on, heard about it. We even made sure security and cybersecurity were tight. We even sent word to Director Akikawa and Tezuna about weirdos making weird calls to us and suspicious strangers outside the school grounds to tighten security and have the school military on standby. We even enlisted Gentildonna, Daring Tact, Symboli Kris S, and other strong, armed Uma Musume on our side. We also got Smart Falcon, and others are blindly reacting as well.

That's when the broadcast began; the reactors were shocked by its quality. The audience started pouring in as soon as our digital countdown clock hit zero. The tournament opened, and soon the races began. The broadcasters explained the tournament and introduced each team. Flower provided the notes on each team, and so was the data.

Now, the blind reactors were shocked to learn about the FSRL and the Japanese team within it. The viewers were reacting wildly as they kept increasing. They saw a global sensation they didn't know existed. Soon the races began, and soon the chat exploded, with both types of reactors on screen, and the commentators were screaming. Races went on and on, but as the crowd kept growing, trouble came.

Word spread out like it always does, and the flood of information was unstoppable. Now, cyber attacks began, and defenses were raised, and soon Shakur spoke, saying," Our identities are safe as the IP address, and more are not present, but I have a bad feeling about this." Hours passed, and nothing happened, but soon after the halfway point of the tournament, the broadcast went down." Everyone wanted to know what happened. We all looked, and Shakur screamed," Fuck!!!"

She told us," Those assholes targeted the internet providers; they cut off their power. Meaning there won't be internet for the next few days." Fuck!!! We forgot to get our own internet connection. Damn it, damn them!!

Tears began to fall from my eyes, and I fell to my knees. I had failed again, and it was worse as everyone worked so hard to help me. Flower came from behind and held me, saying," Stand, Agnes Digital, we'll get them next time, we'll have our own internet, they can't stop, and our own generators for power. Next time we will be victorious, do stand and lead our team to plan B." I nodded and soon communicated to everyone what happened, and soon I ordered," Broadcast plan B."

They all responded in agreement, and soon the broadcast ended, but I looked online using user data and saw the buzz didn't. I knew the next broadcast would take some time to set up. The Underworld and the NRL are now keeping watch. We had to make a new site and reinforce our cybersecurity. Plus the time needed to build generators, and our own WiFi data centers.

Plus, we also needed capital and support. We also might need to keep the next broadcasts small until after winter. We don't want those assholes turning off everyone's electricity just to hold back our broadcasts. I wiped the tears off my face and began working on it. First step: make a plan.

Imperial Punk POV

This past week has been stressful for us. We had to train under complete supervision because our regular security was down and our new security personnel were taking things seriously. Heck, now it's a rule that if we leave the base, we wear civilian disguises with fake names and paperwork. We even have hats and other accessories to hide our tails. I noticed everything happening with the team as well.

Vic learned to use armed weapons after recovering, and he was surprisingly good at it. Mama watched over everyone, offering support when needed, while burying herself in record books. Gray went out to order new weapons and gear for her future races. At the same time, Rose joined her to get better gear for her future races as well. GW visited Iguro, was worried about him the whole time, and checked on him daily.

Rain prepared herself for her debut, knowing she needed to improve daily. Lily was checking out the other team's videos, trying to cheer herself up after her disappointment at the competition in Wellington. Steel went to a bunch of Open tournaments and hated every moment of it. I did what I always did, improving myself to be the best version of myself, while also adding therapy to that process. Spice went out and got custom-made jewelry to show off and piss off his opponents.

BlaD just celebrated conquering the music charts and music opening up everywhere. Sweets just trained with Rain, cause she's also debuting soon. Jo helped everyone out and prepped her scanners for the next tournament. Norn was now a star, doing a lot of modeling for the company. Finally, KiWi trained with Jo and everyone, but her craziness might be getting worse, as she seemed distracted by multiple things at once.

We all trained in firearms, and our combat training intensified. GW, Vic, KiWi, Rain, Lily, and BlaD were surprisingly talented, as if they had forgotten skills and were recalling them. While Rose, Steel, Spice, Sweets, Jo, Norn, and I had the expected level of combat from our training here and our past lives. The week passed quickly, though, and soon Iguro awoke. GW wanted to visit him, but they had to leave for the airport soon.

Now they're texting each other all night, throughout the journey from our base to our flight to Buenos Aires. Also, today we wear our special outfits for Super Majors and Premiers. It has the organization's brand on it and everything. Now that we had arrived in Buenos Aires, it was time to put on our masks before the welcoming committee arrived. Still, GW wouldn't wake up, so I put a mask on her face and told Spice to do her thing.

She immediately bitch slapped GW awake. Her scream was so priceless, we recorded it. Soon, the person in charge of welcoming us came. She was an Uma Musume, but way older. She was built like a muscular masterpiece, wearing loose clothing and a mask.

The mask looked like it had a ball gag, and the design gave off emo supervillain vibes. She must be tired at that age, cause she's showing tattoos and other things that should be covered up without noticing. Then I saw a tattoo of an Uma Musume angel with a huge Halo. That's when memories of different horse facts and lineages flashed before my mind from social media posts by fans. I remembered an interesting one, the grandfather of a lot of Uma Musume, Halo.

Couldn't it be that it had to be a coincidence, right? I then kept looking at her, seeing more and more clues that it was her. Her tattoos, her clothing, her everything screamed it was Halo. I looked her up on my phone, and the person looked like a spitting image of the Uma Musume in the picture, but with her face covered and older. While on the way to the hotel, I kept looking and texted my findings to the others.

They were reacting silently, but using body language to communicate. Once we got to the hotel, everyone got busy with their preparations. Halo came and introduced herself," Hello, I am Dark Forge, and I represent the Americas region of the FSRL. I came here to greet the team, the leader has claimed to be valuable." Oh, she's lying, how cute.

She was also observing each of us and spoke a few words before a call told her it was time to go. She said her farewell's, and as she left, I yelled," See you around Halo, say hi to Sunday for us." She was so busy she didn't register what I just said, but we heard her footsteps stop, pause, and then keep walking. I was right after all, it was Halo. Soon, we all put on our special outfits for the event, except for GW and Steel, who left earlier in their regular racewear.

Steel's races were happening at the same time as the tournament. GW was with her cause she also didn't have any races today. Once everyone was ready, we told the security teams it was time to go. We were all transported there, and everyone acted the same way. That's when we arrived, and everyone's eyes were on us.

Reporters tried to go for interviews, and fans tried to get autographs. We saw other arriving teams glaring at us, and we soon got to our locker room. That's when Tsukasa entered the room first, announced the races, and announced who was participating again. Tsukasa usually announces who's racing when the races are announced, but does it again to announce the final draft of his plan. The first race was an odd one, where the whole track was a straight line with no obstacles, hills, or curves.

It's one of the strange tracks the FSRL does to make races more interesting, even if it changes the racing environment. Like this race is built for the fastest, with no obstacles holding them back, and since it's short, everyone is sprinting. There are no comeback mechanics or blocking cause there's no time to do so. This is a front-runner's paradise, and the fact that it's on turf makes it easier to run on. The fact that we're sending Mama Blues to run this race is also a bit cruel on our part.

Like now, I see her excitedly looking ahead to how many records she wants to break. Next is the regular short turf, and since Mama can't go again until all of us go or we have injuries, the world will now be introduced to the chaos that is King Wild. KiWi is now celebrating after hearing she's about to race today and is already going crazy. Tsukasa hinted that she might race today, but didn't finalize it until now. Next is the Turf Obstacle mile race, which was given to Rose well in advance.

That's why she's wearing padding and more protection than last time. She's also been learning to use weapons and honing her martial arts and parkour skills. The next race is the marathon in Argentina's famous grasslands. Spice is racing obviously, and it's been the talk of the online community. That's because the two kings of the marathon scene, Slave Corpo or Corps for short, and Wall White or Walls for short, are participating.

Neither of them is happy about someone so unproven coming in and claiming the title of king. They earned their titles, and believe Spice hasn't earned hers yet. Their online beef has exploded into a must-see match. Anticipation has been building, and the fact that Spice is now wearing jewelry to piss them off is another drop in the bucket. After that race, all the turf races end, and the dirt races begin with the Medium dirt relay coming first.

Participating is BlaD again, then Vic taking care of everyone, and the debut of Rain and Sweets. With who's participating, I see a lot of bumping and cheating happening. Perfect for Rain and Sweets, who love to play very rough. Next is a regular long race on dirt, and this time it's given to Lily so we can finally satiate her desire for competition. She's been moping around since Wellington, and I've tried everything to make her happy.

I eventually asked the coach to put her in a singles race so she could race on equal footing with everyone else. Next is the dirt mile obstacle, and the world will see Gray in a full obstacle race. Win or lose, no one there is coming out unscathed, to the point that we just send her in to weaken the other teams. Still, Gray's desire to win over hurting others makes her a great player. Heck, when I called her slow, she made me go through training with her and used me for experiments the whole week.

Moving on, the next and last race is the medium flat race that I'm participating in. I practiced on dirt more and got used to dirt in Argentina. Thanks for the assist, Mina. With Jo and Gray's help, I now know how to run perfectly on dirt. Once all the races were announced, we all noticed Jo wasn't racing again, and we wondered why KiWi, who was obviously worse than Jo, was?

We asked Tsukasa and Yuto, and they told us that Jo asked KiWi to go over her after they had both discussed it. KiWi, as crazy as she is, told us," I sense trouble aimed at Jo's race, so I must be the one to participate." It sounded ridiculous, and Jo might be humoring his girlfriend. Now, once that was cleared up, Tsukasa left, and soon Halo and the person we all saw on TV as Red Bloomberg came into the locker room. Mina guided them in, and soon he gave a speech.

He introduced himself, praised us, and then apologized for maybe causing all the trouble we either didn't care about or thought nothing of. Still, it was nice of him to apologize, but soon he told us that other teams and fans want to see how good we really are. That, in his words,' Minors are easy, and majors are hard', and that this is a super major and everyone here is a killer. He even asked us if we have what it takes to win. Everyone was silent, but I saw everyone's faces; they were amused, excited, or just happy.

Soon, my girlfriend got up and asked," You promise?" She had hope and enthusiasm in her eyes again, and after remembering the absurdity of this week with her. I laughed, and I did it loudly, and soon I commented saying," Red, you got my girl excited, better mean what you said." Soon, the room exploded in excitement, some talking, others celebrating, and more just exasperated by the rest of the team. Soon, both visitors left, and we put the finishing touches we needed for the tournament.

Soon, we left the locker room, and our team waited until the staff and the security team said go. Once both sides did we walked into the field. When we came out, we heard our song Fighting Free playing during our introduction. The crowd and other teams immediately recognized us and started cheering. We were introduced in our fake names one by one.

Once it was done, we did the usual open ceremony stuff, and soon we entered our canopy area at a corner of the stadium, I realized it was there to protect us from snipers. I also saw the security at every vantage point and every section of the stands. They're good and get a free show. Gray told me earlier that our team and the league's security put weapon detectors and AI scanners all around, just in case. Thank you again, Mina.

Soon, the racing events began, and Mama Blues came out excitedly, ready to race. The other teams knew what was up and sent their fastest players. Famous racers like King Cometh, King Lancealot, Razor Cutter, White Pearl, Fader Lie, Mini Fan, and Sunny Murder came in. Many new faces entered as well, like Mama Blues herself, Purple Hero, Sneeze Burst, and Rain God. None of them were weak like some people in Wellington, and I was excited.

I looked around, and so was everyone else on the team. I went into the canopy and saw that we had a TV to watch the race broadcast. We also had chairs to sit in, along with other amenities. Soon, we all watched everyone greet each other on the field and talk trash. Soon, everybody got into their gates, and the race began.
