The next day, back at school, Hani was still very distracted. Before the class started, Leslie was joking with her about what had happened in class when she left, mistaking Miss Williams' words. Even relaying the story about how Xian went against the teacher, Leslie laughed. Instead of being amused, Hani just nodded blankly, "I see." She gave a short reply and fell silent again, looking mopey.
I don't know what happened yesterday, but this is becoming too much. It's not like Emma is dead or something. Still, I can't help but worry for her. I don't even know how to comfort her. I can't even rely on Xian for that.
Leslie let out a large exhale, seeing that there was nothing she could do right now.
The lessons went well today. Hani made an attempt to remain focused, albeit minimally. Miss Williams was worried about getting into the same type of commotion as yesterday, so she basically avoided Xian and Hani throughout the class.
