13 Howes Street.
Arriving at the building. Klein tossed the empty cup into the trash and pinched his glabella, activating his Spirit Vision before entering.
He entered the hall and greeted the lovely receptionist, Angelica.
Seeing her mourning grief yesterday slowly being swayed away for the mornings to come. Klein smiled warmly and said, "You seemed to have regained your vibrant. Keep it that way as the long expression would only invite misfortunes."
Although intending to be friendly and possibly a charlatan. He only realize now that his words might have unwillingly came as flirtatious.
"I will have the same black tea again", he attempted to shift the conversation.
As it was Tuesday, there were now six or eight members in the meeting room, completing the club. Using his Spirit Vision, Klein saw that they each had different colors of emotion. Some were grieving, some more dull, some relatively unaffected.
They're all rather normal... normal reactions. Klein nodded slightly. He picked up his cane and found a spot in the room.
He was about to deactivate his Spirit Vision when he saw Angelica walk in and walk towards him.
"Mr. Moretti, a customer is looking for you. Well, it's the person from last time," the beautiful lady said with a hushed tone.
"You still remember him?" Klein asked with a smile.
Hmm, I wonder if he bought the magical medicine as I instructed... He failed to visit me the last time so I couldn't tell if it went well...
Perhaps he still need surgery?
Angelica covered her mouth and said, "He was the only person who was willing to wait an entire afternoon in the club for a divination."
Klein grabbed his cane and stood up. He walked outside without saying anything.
In the reception area, he found the person who had sought his services the other day. He also noticed that the aura near his liver had regained its normal color. His overall health had also improved.
"Congratulations, the feeling of being healthy is wonderful indeed." Klein smiled as he extended a hand.
Bogda was first taken aback before he immediately extended both hands. He grabbed Klein's right palm tightly.
"Mr. Moretti, you truly can 'see' my condition!
"Yes, I have fully recovered! The doctors asked me questions over and over again, ran repeated tests on me, but they cannot believe that I recovered just like that!"
Bogda's voice rushed in, "The company's medicine doctor had prescribed me and said to return for a follow-up. However, I came here first to personally give my thanks to you before heading there!"
Upon hearing Bogda's ecstatic description, Klein calmly smiled—knowing that he had both helped and gave their newcomer an experience.
Since he was informed that she had no actual expertise in procuring medicines by herself.
But this also confirms that the former owner of the Lawson's Folk Herb Shop that mentored Ms. Roy is definitely a Beyonder!
"I have to repent to God. To think that I would suspect you, suspect that miraculous medicine doctor." Bogda refused to let go of Klein's hand. He continued on about his shame and gratitude, "...and since the company had placed the criteria for payment to me. Fifty pounds should be just right for bringing my life back!"
...What? Fifty pounds!? You're fine spending a whole half a hundred pounds on Ms. Roy's medicines? And you only gave me eight pence for my divination... Just eight pence... eight pence... pence...Klein was both dazed and panged just by picturing the numbers.
At this moment, Bogda released his hands as he took a step back while beaming. He bowed reverently and said, "I am here today to express my gratitude. Again, thank you, Master Moretti. You showed me the way and saved my life.
"This was the outcome of you paying to have something divined. You need not thank anybody." Klein lifted his head slightly and looked at the divide between the wall and the ceiling. His answer fully expressed the vibes of a charlatan.
"You are a true seer," Bogda praised. "Well, I'll be heading off. Like I said, the beautiful medicine doctor had advised me to return for a follow-up."
Beautiful... Klein recalled his encounter with Selina. This made him retract his thoughts and engaged in a little exchange before heading back to his chair.
...
Alchemy room.
Selina discovered while reading that the Sequence 9: Apothecary was actually able to exert some sort of vitality toward any kinds of herbs.
It allows them to grow with reduced stress, allowing for the plant's natural property to be strengthened. It was also applied even when the plant had been plucked, the prerequisite is that it had come into contact with the beyonder for the ability to take effect.
This matter reminded her of the sensation, it was as though it relieved her while handling a variety of herbs, even during her mentorship with Darkwill.
I thought it was a result of slightly digesting my potion... In truth it's actually the herb relaying its feedback to me...Selina placed down the root and set the documents aside.
Speaking of medicine... Did the herbs I gave to Mr. Jones effective? They did feel relaxing to touch before I handed it...
I hope that was enough or else I might have to redo my approach...Selina propped herself from the chair and began heading to the stairwell.
Upon arriving at the partition. She saw Rozanne engaged in a little exchange with another commissioner.
A young man with short brown hair wearing a tuxedo had a lively expression. Selina quickly recognized him.
How pleasant... The sallowness of his face before had receded, does that mean the herbs I gave him were just right?
Selina continued at a steady pace.
Her figure brush pass their periphery, but it failed to go unnoticed as Rozanne's eyes saw her by the corner.
"Ms. Roy!", she called. "The previous sick client we had, he returned for the follow-up!"
"Ms. Roy..." Bogda repeated the name and turned. His face became livelier.
When Selina reached the reception area. He quickly lifted her hand and said with an ecstatic voice, "Thank you. Thank you. Thank you so much for curing my illness!
"To think that I had such an audacity to doubt your medicinal expertise. Master Roy, your miraculous work should be highly recommended!"
Selina was taken aback from the sudden move. She squeezed a smile and patted his hand, "Your health had leaped a dozen mile Mr. Jones. I am thankful as well that you trusted the herbs I prescribed."
At this moment, seeing the man's genuine gratitude for the herb she gave. A warm sensation welled within her as her smile became softer.
She felt an illusory liquid being dissolved slowly.
So this is what Mr. Fool meant by digestion... I did not get the clear feeling at that time but now I'm certain that this is the effect of the acting method...
So a feedback from others... Just like an audience cheering for an act... Selina took careful note of this as she figured another principle to add:
Ensure that your medicine brings about wellness and recovery. Never do so with intent...
"The matter of willingness is from me. You had proven to be a miraculous medicine doctor, expect a recommendation from me and a—right the payment!" Bogda withdrew his hands from the lady and tried to fish his wallet.
"A full fifty pounds should be enough in exchange for my life!"
Selina fell silent only to realize the amount of cash the man had just offered.
"Wait!" she said while maintaining a posture. "H-How about I check you first before you can consider the payment?"
Let's not be too hasty... Those herbs don't even amount to twenty pounds as Old Neil said, please reconsider...
Bogda did not stand in ceremony. He nodded and willingly follow her to a sofa along with Rozanne accompanying them.
Selina went with the procedure and found that his health had regained its lusters almost entirely. However, she saw that some parts are slightly losing light, it may not be problematic now but in the future, it will return gruesomely.
Selina nodded faintly and advised, "Mr. Jones, take very careful of your body. Eat less fat and morsels that have high cholesterol and salt, take daily exercises as well. I assume you feel more fatigue even though the task was lineal?"
"Now that you mentioned it. I do feel that I'm prone to finishing early in bed matters. I'd even consider buying a mummy powder that the aristocrats are so fond of..." Bogda balled his fist to his chin and touched it with his two fingers.
Finishing early... In bed!? Selina almost blurted her thoughts out.
And what does a mummy powder have to do which such things? And how could you be so casual about it in front of a lady!
She maintained a genial smile as she recalled what her mentor, Darkwill, had once mentioned and tried to prescribed to a customer.
"I guess it was better to maintain physique rather than rely on drugs for performance... I'll take your word to heart", Bogda nodded contently.
After engaging in a brief conversation about the weather and news outside. Bogda bade farewell with a raise of his top hat.
Including that, his offer did not changed as Rozanne and Selina received fifty pounds in cash on the counter.
Rozanne's face glimmered while thinking of a few things and said to Selina in persuasion, "You could start a business! A clinic in our department!
"That would solve both our financial and medical needs. Plus it also acts as a commission since the client came here for service!"
Selina smiled wearily, "Perhaps once I get enough funds for it. However, right now I'm in rather... 'difficult' situation."
The "difficult situation" is the lack of freedom to use her entire wealth without anyone suspecting its origins, and if she were to use the Mandated Punishers as the reason, it could put them in a spot where it's inevitable to not divulge her information.
The fact that she was the vessel of a ritual meant that other organizations would have to check why she was chosen in the first place and that would be dangerous.
Slowly building her own wealth, not received from her parents and gradually validate it is her method of staying safe.
However, it does not limit her from spending minimum. Enough to be reasoned with.
The usage of it as both blessing and reward is another matter.
"Oh don't worry about the funds", said Rozanne cheekily. "If captain allowed it and petitioned. The church could invest into this for a passive source of funds and for a unit fit for official beyonders to recover. Just imagine... Our agencies having a suite as its lounge!"
Are you... Sigh, I don't think I can handle such pressure... Selina let out a resigned breath, "Miss Rozanne, could you also imagine the amount of paperwork to be processed? Perhaps it would be best to just let it be as a conceptual idea... I'll go brew some tea, do you want some?"
After hitting realization. Rozanne almost face-palmed herself as she said ruefully, "Right... If it was that easy, Klein would already have his own divination area and Leonard, a library, since his literacy needs refining. Alright, but I will have a coffee instead."
Selina smiled softly and consoled, "Although it's unrealistic. I very much like the idea. Perhaps one day, not in a way you intended, I would have a clinic you and the agency can visit."
"With a discount?" Rozanne returned the expression.
"Hmm..." Selina lifted a finger to her mouth, then chuckled, "I'll think about it."
...
Inside a dark room.
Ten candles stood diagonally from each other across the floor as they encircle an idol from the center.
The idol had a wooden stand, its face bore a falcon carved into the base while a head of a monk extends from its head.
They expressed no emotions, painted in a colorful dye of red, green and yellow.
Tap. Tap. Tap.
A series of footsteps rustled from the wooden ceiling, accompanying it were muffled voices of a man and a woman. They seemed to be advising someone as they exited the front door.
The flames swayed regardless of no wind in the area. The idol's lifeless eyes glowed golden.
