The next day, as Cherry walked into Debonair, she ran into Miss Emma in the lobby.
Emma stood there with a large box of her things, her face twisted in anger.
Without warning, Emma grabbed Cherry's arm. "You're really something, Cherry Blaire," she spat. "I treated you well, and this is how you repay me? You ruined me!"
Cherry frowned. "What did I do to ruin you?"
"If you hadn't fed lies to Mister Ace Carter, I wouldn't be fired right now! You're shameless!" Emma snapped, eyes blazing.
Cherry froze. She had heard rumors that morning. The person in charge of Mister Go's project had been replaced. Mister Go had suffered a stroke and was in the hospital, and his company was under new management.
Even though Emma had a hand in what happened, there was no solid proof against her. Everyone knew Emma was one of Debonair's top directors, no one expected her to be removed over an intern.
Emma glared before spitting right in Cherry's face.
