When Cherry saw Gilbert about to strike Elijah again, she blocked herself without thinking about what might happen to her.
Gilbert's punch seemed as fast as the wind and there was no way to stop it. Cherry turned pale and scared at that moment so all she could do was close her eyes.
But Cherry's eyes widened when she felt that no punch had hit her. She even swallowed when she saw that there was only a paper thread between that punch and it landed on her face.
"Get out of my way!" Gilbert's eyes glared at the woman and she was stunned.
The veins in her fist burst as she tried to prevent the punch he had unleashed for the animal Elijah from hitting Cherry.
Even though she was trembling at Gilbert's apparent fear, Cherry still stood where she was and stretched out her arms to block the man behind her.
"If you hurt me, I'll call the police!" Cherry boldly exclaimed to the man.
Silence reigned between them for a moment. But soon the corner of Gilbert's lips lifted, and he grinned.
