The necromancer stood deep inside a cavern, the corpse of the Elder Dark Dragon suspended in the air before him. Mysterious symbols burned into the dragon's body, glowing brighter with every chant. Its black scales ignited with unnatural light as dark magic wrapped around the lifeless form.
Meanwhile, Kyle and Lucy spoke quietly nearby. Oni stood apart, trying to understand what Vivi was desperately warning him about, while Ace trained alone, lightning crackling faintly around his fists.
"Before Ryzen died, he told me to gather information about the gods," Lucy said. "He knew you would return one day to defeat them. I worked for the gods so I could learn their secrets, and when the time came, I would betray them for this realm."
She paused.
"I was an orphan back then. I grew up, became an ice magician, and later one of the guards at the gates of Raizen's castle. When the gods betrayed him, he told me everything he could."
Kyle nodded slowly. "Now I understand. But it's been 1000 years since that happened, I think you aren't a normal human."
"My father failed in his attempt to become a god and remained mortal. He is immortal unless killed, a trait inherited by both my brother and me." Said lucy,
*Kyle suspects Lucy knows more than she's letting on.*
"Failed gods? I have seen their kind before."
Back in the cave, the necromancer finished forming a glowing orb of magic. He pressed it into the dragon's chest. The corpse shuddered, and the dragon's eyes suddenly flared with light.
"We're here," Lucy said. "Let's go."
Before they could move, the ground shook. A massive figure stepped in front of them.
Kyle's eyes widened.
"GRANDPA?!"
"KYLE!" the giant man shouted.
Lucy froze in shock as Kyle and the man rushed forward and embraced.
"I thought the gods wiped out my entire family!" Kyle said. "But you survived."
"I thought the same," his grandfather replied. "And what about your father?"
"He lost all his power," Kyle said quietly. "He'll be reincarnated as a human after ten thousand years."
His grandfather clenched his fist. "Then now that you're here… we'll kill all the gods."
"Do you know where the Transcendent Plate is, Grandpa Caesar?" Lucy asked.
"The armor?" Caesar said. "Yes, I have it. Raizen gave it to me one day without explanation. Two days later, the gods betrayed him. Now I know why."
"We need to train Kyle and give it to him," Lucy said. "He's the one who can wipe out the corruption."
Oni leaned against a wall, Vivi resting in his hands, calmly explaining a fighting style to Ace as if none of this surprised him.
"We'll go to my underground base," Caesar said. "It's hidden from everyone. I'll train Kyle there. When he comes out, he'll be ready to face the gods."
"More training?" Kyle sighed. "Alright."
Grandpa Caesar was only human now, but in his prime, he had fought the God of Souls head-on.
Oni was the Hell King. He only needed time to meditate and make his flames even hotter.
Ace would train with Kyle.
Lucy is ice queen and served for Ryzen.
Together, they are ready to attack the gods.
Because a god is never just a single being.
A god has followers, armies, and power.
And no one defeats a god alone.
