"We managed to save him, but he lost a lot of blood. Upon checking, the patient has a rare blood type. We contacted the blood bank, but they don't have sufficient units of that type."
While Melissa felt utter relief at those words, Jasmine and Mike froze.
When Jasmine heard that, her eyes dilated. She and Mike had left Lawrence for a while after he fell from the second floor; she'd called an ambulance later, just to be sure he had no chance of surviving.
But the doctor's news made her entire world stop.
"Chances are he shares the same blood type as his children."
Her breath hitched as if those words were gongs in her ears. The doctor's next sentence made her blood run cold. Jasmine had never thought Lawrence had a rare blood type—none of them had ever needed a transfusion before.
"Take mine."
