"I'm not surprised—and Loren wouldn't be either… if she were still alive."
The lines on Jasmine's face deepened at Doctor Tyler's quiet remark. It didn't make sense to her, yet something in her chest twisted uneasily.
"What are you talking about?" she demanded, but the doctor only gave her a small, knowing smile.
"It was nice seeing you, Jasmine Young," Doctor Tyler said calmly. "And I hope Lawrence Young recovers."
He bowed his head slightly, then turned to leave. He hadn't intended to stay long—he and Jasmine were never close. They had merely known of each other, nothing more.
"What do you mean by that?" Jasmine took a step forward as he reached the door, her eyes fixed on his back. "Tyler, don't just walk away after saying something like that."
