Lola's team—now under Izu's lead—finally reached a smaller town.
Compared to the one they came from, this place was quieter. As their truck rolled along the silent street, Izu, Pika, and the other members riding in the back looked around warily.
This was more of a residential area, with many houses already having their lights turned off. The last member, seated in the front passenger seat, kept his guard up.
"This doesn't look like a gigantic town," Pika murmured, a chill creeping up his spine. "It's so quiet."
The contrast between this town and the one they had left behind was eerie.
"Are there even people here?" one of the men in the back wondered. "I don't like the air around this place."
Izu glanced at the two men with him, catching Pika quietly shrinking into the corner of the truck, then shifted his attention to checking their signals. All their guards were up, ready for whatever ambush might happen—if there was one.
