Three days ago, when Lola and Atlas met with Henrik, they thought that was all it was. However, when night fell, the people in charge of patrolling the island saw an overturned boat. They found someone floating near it and confirmed it was a citizen of the town.
When the news reached Atlas and Lola that night, they instantly knew it was the person Henrik hired to take him to their meeting place. Slater confirmed this, as he had followed Henrik.
According to the initial report, it was likely that the passenger attacked the owner of the boat. However, the next report came quickly after further investigation, concluding that they were likely attacked instead. That was because of the holes and dents on the outside of the boat, which could only have happened if bullets came from outside the vessel.
Perhaps that triggered Atlas's recurring dreams about Lola's death.
