Gods. Such a distant and mysterious word.
Since the dawn of humanity, people have been eager to explore their origins, much like so many Clark Kents.
Humans always have all sorts of subjective imaginations about gods.
Gods are selfless, gods will fulfill all of humanity's wishes, gods will...
Steve stared blankly at the boy, who looked like an angel but claimed to be a god, and a shadow crossed his heart.
Calling himself a god, his superior attitude made Steve think twice.
What are these so-called gods, good or evil?
[Negative emotions from Steve Rogers +100, +100]
"Your name is Steve?" The boy, who had planned to fly away from the city, raised an eyebrow slightly and looked down at the boy.
Ragged clothes, straw-yellow hair, he looked like a vagrant who had crawled out of a slum.
"Ah?" Steve was slightly stunned, but immediately thought that a god knew everything, so knowing his name seemed only natural.
"Of course, sir, uh, I mean, god." Steve's face was full of unease, and he stammered, "My name is Steve, Steve Rogers, I live at the apartment on 102nd Lane, West District, East Street, Brooklyn."
"I had a crush on a girl named Annie in elementary school, but I haven't seen her since I dropped out…"
The boy spilled out all his information like bamboo shoots from a bamboo tube.
"Alright, I know." Kino waved his hand to interrupt Steve. He smiled, some plans flashing in his mind, and said with a calm expression, "I will come to find you in thirty minutes, Steve."
Loud, piercing sirens and the wail of ambulances echoed from the street not far away.
Kino didn't stay any longer. He flapped his wings, and in Steve's eyes, turned into a stream of bright white light that disappeared into the night sky.
The bio-field shielded him from the biting wind. The angel wings and the force field interacted, boosting Kino's speed even further. The scenery around him blurred, like distorted light being flung behind. Kino was heading east.
He had something to do, something very important.
East Wu.
A coastal island.
"Damn it!"
The last samurai roared, charging towards the enemy.
He could hardly believe it. Tens of thousands of men, prepared by their empire, were being held back by a single person.
Bang!
Like a gust of wind, a tiger fist slammed into the head, leaving only a headless body, spouting blood, to collapse on the beach.
Looking around, the entire coastline was densely packed with corpses.
The enemies who had invaded from East Sea were all dead here, and the one who stopped them was just a strong, bald, Asian man.
"Master."
The man wiped his hands on his pants, smiling sheepishly as he looked at the skinny middle-aged man sitting cross-legged on a nearby rock.
"Done."
The middle-aged man wore a Zhongshan suit, had an ordinary appearance, and had a long spear wrapped in burlap beside him. He was currently meditating with his eyes closed.
The middle-aged man didn't pay any attention to his disciple, and the bald man was used to it.
His teacher was like that, not fond of speaking.
"Whoosh~"
A gust of sea breeze swept across his face. The middle-aged man, who had been resting with his eyes closed, suddenly opened them. His eyes flashed with a sharp light, and his right hand instantly gripped the spear beside him.
This action frightened the young man. Since he began following his teacher, he had never seen his teacher so tense. Was there something terrifying approaching? The atmosphere became somewhat oppressive.
Blood mixed with the sea breeze, permeating the air and creating a chilling, desolate atmosphere.
Zheng Xian's gaze swept across the surroundings. His tone was somber: "Since you've arrived, why not come out and meet? Perhaps we are friends, not enemies." His pure, slightly Cantonese-accented voice echoed around them.
In the next moment, the air not far from Zheng Xian seemed to be torn apart, and a handsome foreigner with blond hair and blue eyes appeared before the two of them.
"Interesting. You killed all these little devils?" Kino looked with interest at the group of Japanese corpses lying on the shore.
The young man's fluent Mandarin eased Zheng Xian's wariness. He narrowed his eyes and smiled, "Defending our homeland is naturally our duty. However, your appearance here does raise some suspicion."
"Ah, I was just taking a look," Kino sighed. "If those guys had broken in, I planned to kill them all."
"But..." Kino glanced at the ground littered with Japanese corpses and shrugged, "My power isn't needed now."
As he spoke, his gaze turned complex as he looked towards the Divine Land in the distance, the place where he had grown up in his previous life.
The reason he had come here was simply to make up for some regrets. He, Kino Luther, was never one to forget his roots.
However, judging from the scene before him, East Wu in this world possessed countless mysterious experts. The middle-aged man holding the spear also confirmed Kino's identity.
The inheritor of the Spear of Gods, Zheng Xian, and his teacher Zhang Heng was also a ruthless individual, having once tricked a god into going to the sun to birth a celestial infant.
Regarding Kino's words, Zheng Xian smiled and said, "Resisting evil is the responsibility of all righteous people. Your willingness proves that you are definitely a respected strong person."
"Perhaps."
Kino waved his hand. Since the Japanese hadn't broken through the defenses, he didn't plan on staying here.
"Farewell."
After saying this, the young man's figure vanished into thin air as if by magic.
After he left, Zheng Xian's tense body slowly relaxed.
The bald disciple looked at where Kino had been with a puzzled expression. "Master, is he very strong?"
Zheng Xian sighed. Sometimes, he really wanted to punch his disciple in the head to see what was inside.
"Not very strong, terrifying."
Zheng Xian narrowed his eyes slightly, his tone cautious. "In that instant, I even felt the threat of death. If he wanted to kill us, it might have only taken a second."
East Sea.
A land of islands.
The entire island's residents were immersed in a feverish war atmosphere.
Their great Japanese Emperor and the invincible imperial army were expanding their territory. Perhaps soon, the men and women of Showa could become the masters of this planet, become the top of the food chain.
Everyone carried such a beautiful dream. The madness infected everyone from top to bottom. If a clown came here, they might also sigh that perhaps the number of people with mental illnesses would still be higher in the Sakura Country.
And within a certain palace in Tokyo.
The current Japanese Emperor was kneeling under a cherry blossom tree, looking up at the falling cherry blossoms, and hypocritically reminiscing, "Cherry blossoms are like humans, with a short but brilliant life."
Boom!
Before he could reminisce for too long, a sonic boom interrupted his thoughts, the violent movement even causing the earth to tremble.
"Nani, what happened?"
The guards outside the palace held onto their hats and looked up at the sky.
In the midday sun, a figure was floating in the air, their silhouette shimmering and dazzling in the sunlight.
"Wh-what is that?"
The Japanese Emperor inside the palace also saw this scene, his hands trembling uncontrollably, and his voice filled with excitement. "A god, a god has come to East Sea!?"
