Wondering how he got into his current situation with Lance and his friends, Derek didn't miss that they began walking closer to him.
As this occured he got out of his and instead put his sole focus on the situation in front of him.
After he did Derek quickly glanced around to make sure there was no bystanders.
Seeing none he breathed a mental sigh of relief.
Since it meant he could take on Lance and his allies without exposing his powers.
After he confirmed this Derek raised his hands up in the direction of Lance and his friends and then unleashed two powerful blasts of electricity in their direction.
"Look out." Lance spoke, diving out of the way.
Meanwhile Blob just planted himself in place.
As for Toad, he tried to jump out of the way, only he wasn't fast enough.
Thus he got hit with electricity and was blasted straight into Lance's Jeep, which in turn lead to to them both being electrocuted.
"Hey, this ain't fun!!!!" Toad said in a buzzing sound, until Derek stopped hitting him with electricity and he fell to the ground, slightly smoking.
Just like Lance's Jeep.
Unlike Blob who remained fine, despite getting hit with the electricity directly like Toad and the Jeep.
But given his power set Derek wasn't surprised by this.
"My jeep!" Lance cried out, before turning his gaze to Derek. An angry expression appearing on his face.
"Hey what's with that look Lance? I told you, you didn't want this." Derek said, referring to himself.
"Shut up, Cowan." Lance snarled backed.
He then clenched his fists, and second later the surroundings began to shake.
Meanwhile Blob charged towards Derek.
Seeing this, and feeling Lance's impending attack Derek blasted the Jeep once more.
Seeing them both Lance and Fred snorted.
"You missed loser." Lance said.
"Actually, no. I didn't." Derek replied.
Since after his new blast of electrical energy hit the Jeep it levitated off the ground.
Once it did it raced forward and slammed into Lance's back, knocking him flat on his face.
The Jeep then continued forward and slammed into Blob's back, doing the same.
Until it was only inches from Derek before he stopped it. He then used his powers to set it back down on the ground.
Smirking.
Given this proved the week of training with his powers he did before he started school wasn't a waste.
"Ugh." Lance groaned, slowly lifting his head up.
At the same time as Fred and Todd.
"Anyone, get the number of the car that hit me?" Toad asked.
"It was your own frog boy." Derek spoke. "Anyway, see you." He replied.
Derek then used the secret Joestar technique and began running away.
Since although he would love to school Lance and his friends some more he didn't want to push his luck, and risk things escalating further.
Not to mention he didn't want to be late for his second day of school.
"Hey, get back here!" Lance shouted.
Only for Derek to flip him off as he continued running away.
Well a strategic retreat.

Arriving at school Derek stopped running, and then began walking inside.
"Derek, you're justing getting here? Even though you left before us?"
Only to stop his tracks when Jean called out to him.
Her being with Scott and Bobby.
"Yeah." Derek replied, waking up to the three of them. "I had a little trouble." He admitted.
"What kind of little trouble?" Scott asked.
"The fellow mutant kind." Derek whispered.
He then explained the others about his scuffle with the Lance and his friends, along with the reason why.
Upon hearing this Scott narrowed his eyes. "Seriously, those guys are so pathetic."
"I know right. Ganging up on Derek. Not cool." Bobby added.
"Though it seems you handled yourself well." Jean spoke.
"I guess so." Derek replied. "But if things had gone a bit differently I would've been in serious trouble." He said.
Derek not afraid to admit that.
"Then it's a good thing you've got backup in case things do go south." Scott spoke, coming uo and placing a reassuring hand on Derek's shoulder. "After all, your a member of the X-Men now, and we stick together."
"I know. But thanks Scott." Derek replied.
"We do. But until Lance and his friends cool off you probably shouldn't go anywhere in town alone." Jean suggested.
"I agree." Scott added.
"Okay, I'll make sure I have a buddy from now on." Derek said.
Once he did he and the others headed inside of the school.
Ready to start another day.

The last bell of the day ringing, Derek collected his books and notes into his bag.
He then left the classroom with his fellow students and began heading to his locker.
Kitty right beside him.
Since after he had informed her, and the other X-Men, of what happened during his mourning commute to school today she hadn't really left his side.
As the pair continued walking through the halls towards their lockers, they stopped upon seeing Lance and his friends walking towards them. More specifically Derek.
But before they could get too close, Kitty moved to block their path.
"Like, that's far enough you three." Kitty spoke.
"Out of the way Kitty, this is an issue between men that needs to be settled." Lance told her.
Only for Derek to snort, drawing the others attention to him.
"Yeah, real tough talk from a guy who ambushed me on my way to school this morning, bringing his friends along for the ride. You know Lance when a real man gets here let me know. Otherwise back off." Derek spoke.
His words stunning Lance and the others.
As they did Derek walked past them, Kitty right behind.
"Woah, you just like totally schooled them." Kitty said.
"I know." Derek replied. A smirk appearing on his face.
Since that felt good just now.

Collecting all they needed from their lockers Derek and Kitty then headed back to the mansion.
Where Derek informed Xavier and the other teachers of what transpired between him and Lance and his friends.
Inside of the living room of the mansion Xavier simply nodded.
"Good work Derek. You used sound judgement and didn't make the situation worse." Charles spoke.
"Indeed. You handled yourself today with maturity beyond your years." Hank said.
"Good job kid. Though I might've put a little more hurt on the ounks myself." Logan said.
"Logan, don't encourage the boy. We don't want him turning into you." Ororo spoke.
"Fat chance of that happen Storm-o." Logan said.
"Yes, well just to get sure make sure you keep following your current course of action Derek. Unless the overall situation changes." Xavier spoke.
"Don't worry professor, I intend to." Derek spoke. "On another note, is my super suit ready?"
"Why yes, it is actually." Hank revealed.
"Wow, that was fast. Given I only have you my ideas for it yesterday." Derek replied.
"Well since I didn't have anything else important to do today I made it my top priority." Hank admitted. "Now follow me, and I shall bestow upon you your costume."
"With pleasure." Derek replied.
He then followed Hank down to the lower levels of the mansion to his lab, where he was given his costume.
Then once he was he headed into the men's locker room and put it on.
Then upon n stepping out Derek went to go check himself out in the mirror.

Loving his costume.
It being everything he imagined it would.
It also signified a huge step in his relationship with the X-Men.
After examining himself for another minute in the mirror Derek returned to Hank's lab.
"I take it the design is to your liking?" Hank asked.
"Yes. It definitely is." Derek replied. "And I can't wait to test it out." He admitted.
"Then you are in luck my young electro wielder, for we have a group training session scheduled for this afternoon."
"Then let's go." Derek said.
After he did Hank nodded, and once he did the two left his lab.
Derek all too ready to give his new X-Men uniform a real test drive.
