Chapter 254: High Offense and High Defense
With a resonant crash, the rocky ground beneath the two men cracked and collapsed into a huge crater. A terrifying and visible circular shockwave, centered around both, flung everything for tens of meters, including dirt, rocks, and even ninjas.
The Explosion Style jonin felt a surge of force from his fist, sending a tingling and numbness through his hardened rock arm. His precious Explosion Style, at the moment of contact, was effectively suppressed by the opponent's terrifying strength, even dispelling most of its power. The explosive force was forcibly contained in a small area, with most of it impacting him. He was instantly repelled, sending him flying tens of meters, crashing into a huge tree.
Sasuke, on the other hand, stood his ground, his Lightning Style chakra permeating his body, easily blocking the attack. The enormous crater under his feet was merely a fan-shaped gap, opened by the residual force.
"What? Someone could actually withstand a frontal attack from the Explosion Style jonin? How is that possible?"
"And he even managed to suppress it. What kind of power is that?"
The Iwagakure ninjas were stunned. They all knew of the White Blood Demon's fame, but previous experience and intelligence had shown that, while he was formidable, he was no match for a Kage-level warrior.
"Ahem! What powerful strength!" at that moment, Gari fell from the tree hole and knelt, his heart pounding. In his decades of experience, he had never encountered an Explosion Style that could be suppressed with purely physical techniques. Sasuke also felt the devastating force. He felt a tingling in his arm, and the extra power granted by the heavy rock was largely nullified.
"As expected of a secret technique known for its offensive prowess. It's truly extraordinary!"
"Come back!" Sasuke's mind moved, summoning Wind Breath. The marks on his face faded, transforming into a cyan lightning flash.
"Explosive Style: Super Thunder Fist!" Gari roared, accumulating a surge of chakra in his right fist and pushing his Hardening Technique to the limit.
"Monstrous Strength!"
"Earth Style: Super Heavy Rock Technique!"
Sasuke, energizing his power to the maximum, transformed into a humanoid meteor and lunged forward. While Gari was only at the quasi-Kage level, his Explosion Style was incredibly powerful. Sasuke, taking advantage of the extreme speed and defense of his Lightning Style Chakra Mode, combined with the explosive power of his Super Heavy Rock Technique, concentrated his strength into a single point on his right fist, piercing the opponent's surface.
The two clashed again. BOOM! A deafening roar hit the people. A violent explosion and a shockwave coursed through the air. In the middle of the explosion, a soft crack accentuated the roar. The bones in both men's right hands, unexpectedly unable to bear the weight, shattered.
Sasuke's blood and energy skyrocketed. Although the chakra pattern of his Lightning Style cracked, the syrup barrier covering his skin managed to absorb the immense pressure. The bones in his right arm were not seriously injured, only slightly fractured. Activating his Flesh Revitalization Technique, he easily healed. However, Gari's right arm, despite his tough skin absorbing much of the pressure, could not withstand the overwhelming force, and his bones shattered.
"How can this guy have such formidable strength and defense? He's like an upgraded version of me!" Gari took the opportunity to lunge, deflecting some of the force with his right arm and getting away from the Konoha monster.
"Earth Style: Earth Crack Collapse!"
Seeing their leader at a disadvantage, the Demolition Team unleashed a combined Earth Style to rescue him. A huge rock ball, tens of meters in diameter, formed and crashed towards Sasuke.
"Everyone, get out!" shouted Shibuki, the Taki commander, terrified.
The Taki ninjas fled in a panic, while those in Sasuke's unit, unfazed, remained entrenched, confident in their commander. To hold his position, he did not dodge but clasped his hands together.
"Flying Thunder God: Guided Lightning!"
A twisted spatial vortex appeared before him, and the huge rock ball was instantly trapped, disappearing. Then, it suddenly appeared in the middle of Gari's unit's position. With a crash, dozens of unsuspecting Rock ninjas were crushed to death!
"Flying Thunder God Cut!"
Sasuke charged forward, with the Blade of the Thunder God in hand, and his figure disappeared.
"Not good!" a chill ran through Gari. His powerful instincts forced him to activate his Hardening Technique to its maximum potential. With a soft sound, the Blade of the Thunder God easily pierced his diamond-like defenses, perforating his heart with pinpoint accuracy.
