Chapter 255: The Azure Flash
"So fast!"
The alert look on Gari's face instantly froze, giving way to disbelief and astonishment. His life force rapidly drained, his massive body convulsed violently, and then he collapsed.
"Lord Gari!"
"How could this have happened!"
The eyes of the Iwagakure ninjas were bloodshot, horrified and filled with despair. Their commander, almost godlike, had been pierced through the heart by Konoha's White Blood Demon in a direct confrontation. The sheer incredulity of the scene hit them like a lightning bolt. Panic spread through the remnants of the unit.
"Long live Lord Umino!"
"Azure Flash, smash all of Iwagakure!"
"Konoha's Iron Wall, invincible!"
In stark contrast to Iwagakure's panic, the Konoha coalition erupted in thunderous cheers. The Takigakure ninjas, in particular, had the fear wiped from their faces, replaced by the excitement of survival and fervent admiration. They had witnessed firsthand how a master of Explosion Style was instantly killed in a flash of azure light. Their admiration for Sasuke's prowess reached its peak, and they even nicknamed him "Azure Flash."
Thus, Sasuke earned a new title, joining the White Blood Demon and Konoha's Iron Wall. Amidst the cheers, he remained unperturbed. Instead, he frowned slightly, his gaze piercing, as he watched the supposed "corpse" on the ground.
"Thinking of a sneak attack? Dream on!"
The sonic wave perception revealed everything. Sasuke plunged his sword directly into the ground, but missed.
"What a deep subterranean dive!"
A cold glint flashed in his eyes as he remained focused on the vital chakra fluctuations escaping at an astonishing speed. They were identical to Gari's. Apparently, after suffering fatal damage, he had unleashed Iwagakure's forbidden technique, Division, managing to escape undetected.
"What a master of the Explosion Style!" Sasuke lamented. He had been careless. If he had inscribed the Flying Thunder God mark on him beforehand, he wouldn't have been able to escape.
"Super Strength!" he delivered repeated punches to the ground, where Gari's true form was escaping. Violent shockwaves spread, trying to interrupt or wound him.
Giving up the pursuit, Sasuke leaped like lightning and arrived at the corpse he had left behind. "Earth Style: Rock Stealer Spear!" a huge rock spear rose from the ground, lifting the corpse like a pillar of shame, exposed for all to see.
"Those who surrender will be spared! Those who resist will face this fate!" he crossed his arms over his chest, with a wild demeanor.
"Those who surrender will be spared!"
"We won, Iwagakure is finished!"
"Samehada, give me chakra!"
Sasuke formed hand seals. "Water Style: Water Cutting Wave!"
Instantly, a high-pressure water blade sliced through the remaining defenses, cutting the earth wall and inflicting numerous casualties.
"Master Gari is dead. We are no match for him. Run!" someone shouted these devastating words, triggering a chain reaction. Iwagakure's formation finally faltered.
"All-out attack! Annihilate all remaining enemies!" Sasuke gave the final order for pursuit.
Iwagakure's second Explosion Style unit, so painstakingly rebuilt, was once again annihilated in the land of the Hidden Mist Village by Sasuke and his troops!
The Battle of the Hidden Mist Village was a resounding victory.
"Tekudo, Ryo, Rei!" Sasuke called. "Yes, Commander!" they replied.
"You three will lead our troops, join forces with the Taki ninjas, and deploy defenses on site. You must keep the village safe."
"As you command!" they knelt, accepting their assignment.
