"That's Joanne's voice," Aveline said.
"Yeah, I know. Wait here, okay?"
She nodded, as he rose to his feet and walked to the door.
Atlas did not fully step out of the bathroom. He only stretched out his neck to speak to Joanne.
"Hey, over here," he called out to her.
She shifted her gaze towards the bathroom door. "Sir Atlas! I brought the cocoa for Mrs Aveline," she said.
"Yeah, could you come back with a fresh cup in a couple of minutes? She's still taking a bath."
A rush of joy sprung in her, and she fought to keep a smile from her face. "Yes sir," she said, and hurried out of the room.
Atlas brow lifted at her weird response, but then he shrugged it off and returned fully to the bathroom.
"Where were we?" Aveline's eyes brightened.
He rested his back against the wall as he stared at her face.
One more thing he noticed. Aveline loved to play.
The most mundane things made her so excited.
"Atlas?" She called out as if he wasn't standing in the same room as her.
