Aveline was let into the room where Cane Sinclair awaited her presence.
She walked in to see it was a simple office room. Nothing as bougie as the rest of the mansion.
"Hello Aveline," Cane said to her from the desk.
Her gaze shifted to him. "Good afternoon sir," she said.
"Please sit." He pointed to the chair opposite him.
Aveline took her seat, and crossed her legs.
"I'm glad you made it today," he cleared his throat and began.
"Yeah me too," she said for lack of better words.
The air in the room was awkward, and they both felt it.
Aveline played with her fingers, waiting for him to hit the nail on the head so she could leave.
It wasn't that she didn't like Cane Sinclair. Heck, she preferred him over his own wife.
But they were not close, so there was bound to be some sort of weirdness.
"I can tell you're wondering why I have extended a private invitation to you," he continued.
"Yeah, I actually am," she replied.
