Zevryn got up as soon as his dream ended, his heart pounding violently against his ribs.
The moment his eyes fluttered open, the warmth that had surrounded him in that dream,the laughter, her smile, her touch vanished like mist under the morning light.
The familiar scent of his chamber made him realise, with a heavy ache settling deep in his chest, that he was no longer in that time. All of it had been nothing more than a cruel illusion, just another dream.
