The status panel of Void Rift Miasma is fairly average. Both strength and speed are rated B. If you're talking about pure punching power, it might not even be as strong as Vanilla himself in his vampire form.
What makes it terrifying is that its mouth is a passage leading to an unknown space of destruction, a passage that only its true body, Vanilla Ice, can freely enter and exit.
Once it enters attack mode, Void Rift Miasma will swallow its entire body into its own mouth.
At that point, its mouth flips to the outside, and its whole form turns into a transparent, half-human-height devouring sphere that connects directly to the destruction space.
As the transparent sphere moves, it devours everything it touches. Wherever it passes, the ground is left completely barren, like the scooped-out hole left behind when you dig into ice cream.
Any attack against Void Rift Miasma in this transparent sphere state is completely ineffective. Just like Obito when he activates intangibility, it's essentially existing in another dimension, no longer part of this world. As long as the true body doesn't come out on its own, it remains in an invincible state.
That said, Void Rift Miasma is still a five-star Stand, so it naturally has corresponding weaknesses.
First, you can detect the position of the transparent sphere by kicking up sand or dust.
Second, Vanilla, who hides inside Void Rift Miasma's mouth, has no field of vision. He has to stick his head out from time to time to check whether he's actually hit the enemy.
Lastly, Void Rift Miasma's stamina is only C. After a certain amount of time, the Stand must be deactivated.
However, with the enhancement of "Man's Domain," these weaknesses can be said to be mostly covered.
———
"Welcome to… the world of men."
Before entering Void Rift Miasma's mouth, Vanilla still followed the agreement and threw out the walkie-talkie. From it came a deep, weathered, yet powerful voice.
"Mr. Ryosuke, I apologize for communicating with you in this manner. However, Mr. Dio mentioned that you possess the ability 'Time Stop,' which happens to counter my Man's Domain."
"So, taking your home-field advantage into account, I can only stand outside your attack range and describe my ability to you."
In battles within the world of JOJO, obtaining detailed information about the enemy's Stand ability is always the main theme of combat.
Yet within this main theme, there is one person who, before the battle even begins, will voluntarily reveal his Stand ability to his opponent, Ringo Roadagain.
Compared to winning a fight, what Ringo values more is tempering one's will and spirit through a fair duel.
Only in this way can an existence called "human" continue to grow.
This is Ringo Roadagain's creed.
Ryosuke recalled the details of the opponent's Stand ability.
[Stand Name: Man's Domain.]
[Star Rating: Six Stars.]
[Ability: By turning the crown of a pocket watch, time can be rewound by exactly six seconds. After activation, there must be a six-second interval before it can be used again.]
It's essentially a small-scale Bites the Dust with an extremely short cooldown and no conditions.
Its only weakness is that the user's physical body is frail, and it requires turning the watch's crown. Of course, that latter point is also a restriction Ringo Roadagain imposed on himself for the sake of "fairness," a psychological switch he deliberately set.
Under normal circumstances, Man's Domain's ability is actually the same as Star Platinum, The World's time stop, it can be activated with a single thought.
If he wished, he could achieve a form of immortality within a six-second window. It is a true, unquestionable six-star Stand.
Moreover, unlike Bites the Dust, which erases memories, Man's Domain preserves everyone's memories.
In other words, although time is rewound, the corresponding memories and consciousness are not. Non-Stand users become trapped by memory interference, unable to notice anything unusual, and will continue whatever they were doing, returning to the state from six seconds earlier.
At this moment, Man's Domain activates, and the entire world rewinds six seconds.
Zhang San cannot realize that time has been reversed. He returns to Intersection One, but continues the action of turning right, thus heading down the wrong path.
Even if a Stand user can realize that time has been rewound and react to the fact that they are now six seconds in the past, they will still experience a brief moment of blankness and disorientation due to the environmental change.
In Stand battles, this reaction time is extremely deadly.
Rumble!
Void Rift Miasma charged in once again.
With one hand each, Ryosuke grabbed Mei Terumi and Hot Pants and leapt into the air. Purple vines appeared in his hand as he activated Hermit Purple's spirit photography.
The vines pointed toward a small hill outside Kyoto City, and the Ripple crystal in his palm reflected the face of Ringo Roadagain.
He was standing on the mountaintop, holding binoculars, looking in Ryosuke's direction.
When he saw Ryosuke look back, Ringo Roadagain twisted the crown of his watch.
Whoosh!
Time returned to six seconds earlier.
Ryosuke and the other two dropped back to the ground, once again within Void Rift Miasma's attack range.
Void Rift Miasma adjusted its direction slightly and charged again.
This was Stand synergy.
After Vanilla entered Void Rift Miasma, he could not see the outside world and had no way of knowing whether he had hit his target.
But Void Rift Miasma's stamina is C. With Vanilla's vampire physique, he can absolutely sense changes in his own physical and mental fatigue.
That is to say, if while controlling Void Rift Miasma's attacks, Vanilla notices that his stamina and mental strength are recovering, it means his teammate has rewound time and the enemy has not yet died.
All he needs to do, then, is slightly adjust the attack direction and launch another assault.
With infinite attempts, one of those attacks is bound to hit Ryosuke.
Hot Pants had been fleeing all this way and knew full well how troublesome these enemies were.
If not for her ability as the Frost Traveler, along with the protection of D4C's disc and the Saint's Corpse, she would have died countless times already.
Infinite attacks, infinite margin for error, Void Rift Miasma.
The only weakness of this combination was Ringo Roadagain, but he was standing atop a mountain far away from the city.
"Even if it's you, Ryosuke, even if your speed is faster, even if you possess the 'Time Stop' ability they talk about, you still can't reach Ringo Roadagain's position within six seconds."
Even if this world is Ryosuke's home field, no one can touch Ringo on the mountaintop within endlessly rewinding time.
Despair filled Hot Pants' eyes.
"So this is… true invincibility!"
"Heh..."
Mei Terumi let out a soft laugh.
"What are you laughing at?!"
Hot Pants couldn't understand why this gorgeously dressed, beautiful woman could still laugh at a moment like this.
Couldn't she see how dangerous the situation was?
Mei Terumi glanced at Hot Pants and said softly, "I don't know where you come from, and I don't know how famous these enemies are, but in the ninja world..."
"There is only one person who can be called invincible."
Hot Pants listened blankly to Mei Terumi's words and followed her gaze to Ryosuke's back.
Sensing the looks from his two companions, Ryosuke turned his head and smiled.
"Don't worry. It'll be over soon."
Under normal circumstances, this was an unsolvable predicament.
Given the distance between Ryosuke and the mountaintop, even with Star Platinum's time stop, he still wouldn't be able to fly over.
Weather Report's attacks could kill, but as long as it wasn't an instant kill, Ringo Roadagain could rewind time.
Only Bites the Dust, if you rewind, I rewind too. You swim freely in the river of time, and I paddle a kayak alongside you, mutually restraining each other.
Both are six-star Stands, each with their own strengths. Neither is superior to the other.
But that is "under normal circumstances."
Click! Click! Click!
The sound of horse hooves emerged from the void.
[Made In Heaven]
Made in Heaven stood beside Ryosuke.
A supreme Stand that surpassed the six-star limit through the power of fate, it did not belong within the bounds of "normal."
Ryosuke looked toward the distant mountaintop. He knew Ringo Roadagain was watching him and mouthed the words, "Time is about to start accelerating."
Accelerating all the way to the irreversible reboot of the universe. There is a period in between when, in terms of subjective perception, once the sun aligns into a straight line, the momentum toward universal reset becomes irreversible.
Ryosuke did not need to accelerate to that extent.
In fact, to avoid harming the people celebrating below, he deliberately had to "slow it down."
"Ten times speed should be about right."
He pointed toward the mountaintop.
The next second, his figure flickered and appeared right in front of Ringo Roadagain.
Ringo Roadagain's hand had long been resting on the watch crown. He twisted it immediately.
Time rewound six seconds, but...
Ryosuke only vanished for an instant before appearing again.
Ringo Roadagain looked down at his watch. The hands were spinning wildly.
He twisted it again. And again… over and over.
Time rewound again and again.
But six seconds was far too short.
Under tenfold acceleration, six seconds was nothing more than the blink of an eye, not to mention the fraction of a second it took Ringo Roadagain to turn the crown.
Ryosuke's figure looked like a TV with poor reception, leaving behind intermittent afterimages. Each time time rewound to the starting point, Ryosuke would immediately fly over again.
One of Ryosuke's "afterimages" extended a hand, its fingertip pointing toward Ringo Roadagain's brow.
The speed wasn't fast.
Yet it was impossible to escape. Other than watching and waiting for death, Ringo Roadagain could do nothing.
The finger descended.
Man's Domain vanished.
Ringo Roadagain stared in disbelief.
Hot Pants was even more utterly confused.
A meticulously designed, absolutely unsolvable tactic, without any prolonged probing or deliberation, was broken so easily by sheer, absolute speed?
Ringo Roadagain staggered backward, fell heavily to the ground, the last light fading from his eyes as he became a corpse.
A mass of pitch-black mist flew out from his body and fell into the Saint's Corpse that Hot Pants had previously handed to Ryosuke.
At the same time, the system notification sounded.
[Defeated Ringo Roadagain. Obtained: 1 Tainted Soul.]
Hot Pants stood there with her mouth half open. "This… is invincibility?"
Mei Terumi nodded slightly. "This is what invincibility really is."
Vanilla, who had been scraping back and forth across the ground, noticed that time was no longer rewinding. Thinking the battle was over, Void Rift Miasma opened its mouth and cautiously poked its head out to observe the situation.
Slash!
A rapier pierced straight through his skull.
Like picking snail meat from its shell, Vanilla was forcibly skewered out of Void Rift Miasma's mouth, alive.
