Chapter 160 - CHAPTER 160:Hueco Mundo Ruler

"Ichigo, you really are an idiot," Rukia said helplessly, watching the scene unfold again before her eyes.

"The farce is over, Captain Jūshirō. I'll leave him to you," Shiraha said with an easy smile.

Jūshirō Ukitake sighed and looked at Ichigo's dazed state. "Shiraha, you're becoming more unpredictable by the day."

Kyoraku Shunsui, standing beside him, adjusted his hat and smiled faintly. "That wasn't your Zanpakutō's ability just now, was it?"

A flicker of curiosity passed through his eyes. Even someone of Shunsui's perception couldn't grasp what Shiraha had done. In a mere instant, the fiery Kurosaki Ichigo had turned into a fool, his mind caught in something unseen.

And it was clear that Shiraha's Zanpakutō ability was far beyond what appearances suggested.

"No," Shiraha replied calmly. "That's my own unique ability."

He didn't elaborate further. Explaining it would have meant unraveling a web that stretched into Kisuke Urahara's Hōgyoku itself—something better left unsaid.

Shunsui understood the silence and didn't press. "Alright, no need to get all serious. Nanao, Shiraha, let's head back to the Eighth Division for a drink. I'll leave the rest to Jūshirō."

As his voice faded, Shunsui, Shiraha, and Ise Nanao vanished with a flicker of shunpō.

Hueco Mundo

The world of Hueco Mundo was unlike either the Living World or Soul Society. There were no bustling cities or lifelike structures—only a barren expanse stretching endlessly beneath a black sky. White sand dunes rolled like frozen waves, and the skeletal remains of quartz trees pierced the air like silent sentinels.

The sky never changed. It was eternal night, lit only by a pale, inverted moon. The density of reishi in the atmosphere was overwhelming—so thick that merely breathing it could strengthen the spiritual bodies of Shinigami, Hollows, and Quincy alike.

In the midst of this desolation stood a colossal palace of white stone—Las Noches, the fortress Aizen Sōsuke had constructed after his defection. Its scale dwarfed anything in Soul Society, radiating a grandeur cold and absolute.

Deep within that palace, three figures stood beneath the vaulted dome of the central chamber.

Upon the throne sat Aizen himself—serene, composed, and radiant with quiet authority. On either side of him stood Ichimaru Gin, smiling faintly as ever, and Tōsen Kaname, his body still wrapped in bandages.

Aizen, once a captain of Soul Society, had long since abandoned his place among the Gotei 13. Now, in Hueco Mundo, he was undisputed ruler—the King of Hollows.

Beneath Las Noches lay the remnants of Baraggan Louisenbairn's old citadel. The former ruler of Hueco Mundo had bowed to Aizen's overwhelming power, surrendering both his throne and his pride. From that day, Las Noches became the domain of Aizen and his Espada.

"How's your recovery progressing?" Aizen asked softly, his chin resting on one hand.

After their retreat from Soul Society, both Gin and Tōsen had suffered injuries. Gin's were superficial, but Tōsen had been grievously wounded—nearly killed. Had Aizen not used the Hōgyoku to mend his body, he would not be standing here now.

"Lord Aizen, my recovery is nearly complete," Tōsen said quietly. "My battle with Kuchiki Shiraha must have disappointed you. I'm sorry. I desire greater strength."

He lowered his head. To him, failure meant shame—and only by embracing further Hollowfication could he atone.

Gin's ever-present smile curved slightly. "Captain Aizen, that Captain Shiraha is quite something." He still addressed Aizen by his old title, a habit Aizen had never corrected.

Aizen's eyes narrowed with faint amusement. "There's no need to apologize. Shiraha's power is far beyond what you witnessed. If the two of you could defeat him, then he would not be worthy of my attention. And yet… he still hides another ability—something astonishing even by my standards. As for the power you desire, Tōsen, I can grant it to you, but it will take time."

Shiraha's invincible Zanpakutō was one thing, but that other ability—born from contact with the Hōgyoku—had unsettled even Aizen himself. He had briefly fallen unconscious within that boundless space, an experience that few beings could ever inflict upon him.

"Thank you, Lord Aizen," Tōsen said, bowing deeply. His loyalty remained absolute.

Gin's sly eyes glinted. "Captain Aizen, are you referring to that moment when Shiraha made you… lose consciousness for a few seconds?"

Aizen gave him a long, steady look. "You noticed, then."

"Of course," Gin said smoothly, though his tone was unreadable.

Tōsen frowned slightly. "Aizen-sama, will this Kuchiki Shiraha interfere with our plans?"

During that battle, Tōsen had been forced to resist the crushing gravity of Shiraha's domain and had not seen what occurred between the two.

Aizen's expression remained calm. "No. Shiraha is not our enemy. There's no need for concern."

From his perspective, Shiraha's goals diverged from Soul Society's, yet they didn't necessarily oppose his own.

Gin tilted his head, his voice laced with mischief. "Captain Aizen, shall we let Captain Shiraha come into contact with the fused Hōgyoku? If he touches it, that infinite space of his might evolve into something far greater."

He spoke lightly, but both he and Aizen knew the implications. The fusion of the two Hōgyoku—the one taken from Rukia Kuchiki and the one already in Aizen's possession—would produce an artifact of unimaginable power.

"When the Hōgyoku is fully merged," Aizen said softly, "you, Gin, will go to Soul Society and invite him to Hueco Mundo."

He had no intention of underestimating Shiraha. Experiencing that infinite space firsthand had taught him that Shiraha's pursuit of a complete Hōgyoku was not for vanity or restoration—it was to transcend the limits of reality itself.

Still, Aizen felt no fear. Once the fusion was complete, his next plan would begin.

Gin's grin widened faintly. "Understood. By the way, Captain Aizen, that Kurosaki Ichigo you asked us to observe—does he also carry a fragment of the Hōgyoku?"

Aizen's gaze deepened, the air around him tightening with quiet power. "Kurosaki Ichigo… he is a special existence indeed. But for now, he is still far too weak."

His tone carried no malice, only calm certainty. For Aizen Sōsuke, everything—including Ichigo, Shiraha, and even the Hōgyoku—was already part of his grand design.
