The war kept on. Dust and smoke fill the entire palace and bodies laid liveless on the stone ground. Screams filled the air and soldiers dropped dead, and so did Ji woo's army.
In one side of the palace, Ji woo was still battling fiercely with Yuyan and Leng Yue. Their swords still clashed and incantations and magic were released.
"You can never defeat me, princess. Even with you and the seer combined. I'm way too powerful. I'm unstoppable!" Ji woo yelled, as she spun in the air and threw her sword towards Yuyan. But Yuyan aimed for the grip of the sword, and kicked it, sending it back to Ji woo. Ji woo acted swiftly, by catching the sword in her hand, but in her moment of distraction, Leng Yue got to her and kick her heavily. She fell on her knees and a bit of blood spilled from the corner of her lips.
Ji woo furrowed her brow in anger and she held her bruised lips. After looking at her palm and confirming that they had successfully made her bleed, she became even more angrier.
"I think I've been going way to easy on you both. Now, you'll see what real power is." She said, her voice dark and threatening.
She raised her hands to the air and her lips started chanting an ancient spell. Her eyes turned dark with red veins around it. The atmosphere changed. The sky became dark and dark clouds gathered everywhere in the sky. Ji woo kept chanting and the more she went, the darker and more scary the atmosphere went.
Tian Yu, Rong Yuan and Xian Rong who were fighting not far from Yuyan immediately stopped, noticing the change around them.
"What is going on?" Xian Rong asked, eyeing the sky suspiciously.
"She's chanting.... the spell of doom." Tian Yu whispered dreadfully.
"The spell of doom?" Rong Yuan asked, confused. He didn't know what that meant but one thing he knew was that, whatever was going at that moment, on was bad.
"It's a lost forbidden spell that was created to cause doom to any ear that hears it." Tian Yu explained. Rong Yuan and Xian Rong exchanged a terrified glance before looking back at the changing sky.
Yuyan's grip tightened in her hand as she heard the words of the incantation Ji woo was reciting.
"Is she casting.... the spell of doom?" Leng Yue asked, surprised.
"Yes." Yuyan whispered in reply.
"But that spell had been lost for ages. Not even Ji woo could bring back that spell. Unless.... a more darker being helped her. Because for a dark witch like her to succeed, she need a more darker being to help her. But who?" Leng Yue wondered.
"That's not necessary now. We have to find a way to stop her." Yuyan said as she sheathed her sword.
"There's a way?"
"If course. Every spell has a reverse incantation. It's just that casting the reverse incantation is harder than casting the spell." Yuyan said. "This spell takes a while. I'll see what I can do before she casts it completely."
Yuyan closed her eyes and her hands traced an ancient sigil in the air, arcane light following every motion.
"Spirits of light, Guider of souls. Please, guide the soul of the witch queen to me." She chanted and a white light filled the space, covering her and Leng Yue from the world around. After a while, the light faded and standing before them was the witch queen.
Yuyan and Leng Yue sighed in relief.
"Mother. I'm sorry for troubling your resting soul but I need the reverse incantation to the spell of doom." Yuyan said, calmly.
The witch queen smiled.
"There's no problem in summoning me. But I'm sorry, I can't help. This spell doesn't have a reverse incantation." She said.
"What? Why? Creating a spell without a reverse incantation had never been done." Yuyan said, frowning in frustration.
"This spell was created by a powerful dark witch thousands of years ago. She wanted it to be the most powerful spell ever known. So she created it without a reverse incantation." The witch queen explained.
"Then how can we stop the spell?" Leng Yue asked.
"The spell takes till sunset to happen after being casted. But if the caster dies before sunset, the spell fails. So the only way to stop the spell is...."
"Killing the caster before sunset. " Yuyan interrupted, nodding her head slowly in understanding.
"Thank you so much, mother." Leng Yue said, bowing slightly in gratitude.
The witch queen nodded.
"There's something you should know." She suddenly said.
"Ji woo has surrended her soul to a very dark force."
"I knew it! For her to know such a dark spell, she needs a more darker force. Who is the person?" Leng Yue asked, curiously.
"Not who___ what. She made a deal with the devil and her soul is already his."
"She's really power hungry." Yuyan said, in irritation.
"You all must be careful. Who knows what next she'll do."
"Don't worry. We'll surely end her here." Yuyan said.
"Mmm. I'll wait to hear her scream of agony and failure." The witch queen slowly disappeared away__ her voice fading with her.
As soon as she was gone, the protective barrier faded around them and they were back in the war ground. Leng Yue was immediately attacked by a vampire but he was alerted and quickly sliced it in two. Ji woo was still casting the spell as her armies protected her well. The weather was now more darker and a strange breeze was blowing heavily in the palace.
"We need to quickly end her life." Leng Yue screamed, trying to be louder than the howl of the heavy wind.
"We have to let Tian Yu and the other know. Find Tian Yu and tell him." Yuyan yelled back.
Leng Yue nodded.
"Be safe." He said before running off__ killing any attackers as his eyes searched the vast palace for Tian Yu.
As his eyes swept around the palace, he finally found Tian Yu fighting some witches. He ran towards him and joined the fight.
"Where is Yuyan? Why did you leave her?" Tian Yu's deep voice screamed as he fought.
"She told me to tell you the way to stop the doom spell." Leng Yue yelled back in reply, stabbing another vampire.
"There is a way."
"Yes. The only way is to kill Ji woo before sunset."
"Then we do have time to waste." Tian Yu yelled through the noisy howl.
Just then, Leng Yue felt strange and suddenly fell on his knees. A vampire tried to attack him but Tian Yu quickly blocked him and killed it.
"Are you alright?"
"I... I think it's a vision." Leng Yue said weakly.
"A vision in a battle field?" Rong Yuan who had just arrived and heard him, said.
"Protect him until he've regain consciousness." Tian Yu commanded and Rong Yuan obeyed.
After a while, Leng Yue regained strength and opened his eyes.
"There's another powerful evil force coming here. A vampire." Leng Yue said, panting heavily.
"A vampire?" Rong Yuan whispered.
Realization hit the both of them. A vampire.....
