Chapter 32 - Unplanned

"You're the most beautiful woman I have ever seen."

"Oh dear, you're bluffing."

"No, I'm not bluffing. My heart only belongs to you."

( Huh… typical lovebirds. ) Noor cringed while looking at them.

"So what's now?" Jenne said, fixing her hood.

"Umm… ahem. The place is crowded, we need to find a quiet place." Noor adjusted his coat collar.

Noor and Jenne walked through the crowd. Various shops and stalls were open, filled with people. Some couples were chatting about random things.

Noor looked at the blue sky. Sunlight hit his face. He covered his eyes with one arm.

( This place is filled with too many people. It's been an hour and no matter where we go, I can't find a good place to talk. The sun has risen fully. If it keeps going like this we'll get noticed by someone from the class. The most annoying part is the sunlight hitting straight into my eyes. )

( Wait a minute… Miss Jenne is a vampire. Doesn't sunlight affect her? ) Noor looked at Jenne.

Jenne walked along carefree, both hands inside the hoodie pockets.

"Miss Jenne."

"What."

"Doesn't sunlight bother you?" Noor asked curiously.

"Nope." She replied flatly.

"Ohh… I see."

"Oh my god… is that Ria…" Noor froze like stone.

He spotted Ria a few meters away. She looked like she was searching for someone in the crowd.

"Oh no, she's going to spot us." Noor sat down, bending low.

"There he is, someone catch him!" Huff! A man chased a pickpocket past them.

People's attention shifted.

"Hah! You can't catch m—"

WACK.

TRIP.

BONK.

"Ack!"

The thief tripped over Noor, who was bending down, and smashed his forehead into the ground, dropping the money.

"Pfft—ha ha!" Some people laughed.

"Huh?" Noor was confused.

"I'll see you later, you little—!" The thief threatened Noor while running.

"Ah! My money!" The man grabbed his wallet in relief.

"Thank you, young man!" he said gratefully.

"Look at him."

"He predicted the thief would run this way, that's why he bent down!"

"He's a genius!"

People whispered, admiring Noor.

Noor looked at them.

( So they think I caught the thief intentionally… I see. )

"Ahem… you're welcome, sir. Ha ha…" Noor scratched his head, cheeks turning red.

People murmured. Noor felt proud for a moment.

Jenne stood there with a bored expression.

"Found you…" A cold hand touched Noor's shoulder.

"Huh—?!"

It was Ria. She was smiling with her eyes closed.

"Oh my god…" Noor looked like his soul left his body.

"Hehehe…" Ria laughed weirdly.

Sometimes later.

The three of them walked inside a part of the park covered by big green trees. There were fewer people. A cold wind brushed Noor's neck.

"Huff…" Noor fixed his scarf.

"So, are you guys on a date?" Ria said excitedly.

"No, we're not." Jenne replied coldly.

"That's so cool!" Ria's eyes sparkled.

Noor looked at her with a flat face.

( Now I'm convinced she has multiple personalities. Instead of being mad, she's acting happy. )

"Where are we going now?" Ria asked.

"Noor knows," Jenne replied.

"Huh?!

How am I supposed to know? I'm unfamiliar with this place!" he complained.

"Let me suggest something. First let's play the shooting game."

"Hmm…"

"There it is!" Ria pointed.

"Okay," Jenne walked without hesitation.

"W-wait, Miss Jenne!" Noor ran after them.

"Phew—pop."

"Phew—pop."

"Aww, I missed one…" Ria pouted.

"Phew… phew… pop—pop."

"As expected from the princess!" Ria clapped.

"Woah…" Noor looked surprised.

Jenne handed the dart gun to him boldly.

"No no, I never tried this!" Noor waved his hands.

"Just do it."

"Okay…" Noor took the dart gun but his hand was shaking.

"Wait, let me help you." Ria grabbed his arm from behind.

"No—I don't nee—"

PHEW.

Noor flinched backward and accidentally pulled the trigger.

THUNK.

The dart bounced upward. Their eyes followed it.

Then—

PUFF.

It hit the shopkeeper right on his butt.

The man turned with a stone-cold face…

…but tears slowly fell down his cheeks.

Noor stared at him with the same expression.

( What have I done… )

He questioned his existence.

Jenne cringed.

Ria covered her mouth, trying her hardest not to laugh.

Sometimes later.

The three walked silently.

"Pfft—ha ha!"

Ria burst out laughing.

"Come on! That wasn't my fault!!!" Noor yelled in embarrassment.

"But still! It hit him straight in the—HAHAHAHA!" Ria laughed even louder.

"Seriously…" Noor looked at Jenne.

She looked away, trying not to laugh.

Sigh.

"Still… he's a good man. He didn't create a scene. He even refused the extra money I offered." Noor smiled a little.

"What next?" Jenne asked.

"Rollercoaster!" Ria grinned mischievously.

"Wait—NO!" Noor yelled.

"Why am I here…" Noor sat between Jenne and Ria.

"Noor, you're so short that we kept you in the middle. We feared you'd fall off the ride, haha!" Ria teased.

"I want to get off…" Noor muttered.

"You can't. The ride is about to start." Jenne said carelessly.

"Huh—?"

WOOOOSH.

"Weeeee! Ha ha!" Ria enjoyed the ride.

Jenne sat still, emotionless.

"Ohhh my god—!" Noor covered his head like he was holding onto his life.

"Huff… huff…

It finally ended. Thank you god…"

Noor bent down.

"I feel like I'm about to throw up…"

"Seriously, Noor, you're such a softie," Ria teased.

"Hmph." Jenne looked away.

"I'm human after all…"

"What's next?" Jenne asked like she was checking a task list.

"Let's get something to eat," Ria said.

"Wait… you guys eat regular food?" Noor asked.

They stared at him silently for a few seconds.

"He's an idiot, isn't he…" Ria whispered.

"I think so," Jenne nodded.

"Oh… that was a surprise…" Noor muttered.

"I want french fries!" Ria said.

"Chocolate is enough for me," Jenne added.

"Grrrp…"

"I'm dead hungry…" Noor whispered.

At dawn…

They walked out of the park.

"Noor, where did you get all the money?" Ria asked.

"Mom keeps sending me. I never spent a penny till today," Noor scratched his cheek.

"Oh~ that means you're a master of savings!" Ria covered her mouth.

"No no… home food is enough for me. I never needed to spend money outside."

"But you abandoned the students as class captain. That's not good," he added.

"Everyone was busy with Jamil feeling sick all of a sudden. The class was dismissed. Then I found you!" Ria winked.

"Oh… I see…" Noor cringed from his soul.

"Anyways, the date was good. Right, Jenne?" Ria asked.

"Whatever," Jenne replied.

( What kind of date was that… I don't know. My main task was unsuccessful. Ahh my head is spinning… ) Noor held his forehead.

"Here you are, you little shit—"

"Huh? Who—"

They turned around.
