"Disgusting? You?" His voice dripped with outrage. "Are you out of your mind?"
Alexei leaned back just enough to head-bump the silly exorcist, trying to physically knock some sense into his brain.
The dull thud echoed faintly, followed by Elijah's startled blink.
Then, Alexei sighed and reached up, rubbing the reddened spot with the gentleness of a man afraid his lover might shatter beneath his touch.
He just couldn't bear the thought of Elijah being in pain — whether it was physical or something festering deeper in his chest.
