Dear readers, it's a pleasure to greet you.
I hope you've enjoyed this story. This is Siegburn speaking—for those who are new here, welcome. I don't know if you've been following me or not, but I've always mentioned that I was interested in otome games based on what I've read.
After reading so many manga and novels of this genre and brainstorming possible stories, I finally reached a breaking point where I said, "Enough!"—and now I'm completely fed up with them. But I wanted to make one last otome game-inspired story, and that's how this one was born.
Everything shown here is material I had, not just for one, but for several stories within this genre. But in the end, I chose this one. So, I hope you've enjoyed what little we've seen of the story so far, as we started from the protagonist's childhood and some of the other characters—especially the members of the harem. Remember, this is a harem story, so it's only natural that the female characters you see will be part of it.
For me, the twins were the best part, as they had a lot of emotional depth to contribute. Mary lacked more dialogue, but next time she'll have more lines, because by the time I finished writing, I felt she was almost like a character straight out of SAO—someone whose only reason for existing was to simp for the protagonist. And I hate simps, so in the next volume, she'll have more personality.
Anne is a textbook tsundere, and I hope you like her mood swings—especially because, for some reason, I felt she was toxic without it being too obvious. I'll need to refine her personality more when writing her.
Now, about Jason—I'll say this with full spoiler intent—he's one of several characters who will follow a similar path. His role in the story will conclude due to injury or disability. Why? Because I want to kill off characters, but at the same time, I don't. Jason was supposed to die in this volume, but I realized my protagonists rarely have family—technically, Alex's parents are already dead, as mentioned. Jason will still appear, but his role will be reduced.
As for Queen Angelica, aka the maid Ange—did you see it coming? I left clues that, if you didn't take note of them, you wouldn't understand. I hope you liked it, because there are more hints like that coming.
And finally, Alex. I won't talk about Belkman or Isel because, to me, they're just filler. I wrote Alex's backstory as a soldier because it made it easier to justify why he can kill without hesitation while still avoiding making him flat or edgy. It also forces a certain level of maturity on him—but I hate having a protagonist who's too serious, so his second chance at youth will sometimes lead him to do stupid things.
With nothing else to add, I hope you've enjoyed the story. Starting from the next volume, we'll officially begin with character designs and the game's prologue—which, to this day, I'm still refining in terms of plot and conflicts.
Now then, please continue supporting me, and with that, we conclude Volume 1.
"I was reborn in an Otome Game and Now I'll Make a Villainess Harem" —Volume 2 coming soon!
