Story Time! Special

Maria, the Bird, and Eris

Maria Park was unusually quiet.

Eris Thalven sat beneath her favorite tree, polishing her blade with the kind of care only a tired soldier would give to a loyal weapon. Her brows were furrowed. Not angry — just… heavy.

Then came the voice.

"You always look like the world just ended. Lighten up, General Grump."

Maria's voice floated in like a breeze, and soon she did too — quite literally. She landed beside Eris in a graceful flip, holding a small white bird in her hands.

Eris didn't even look up. "What do you want, Maria?"

Maria grinned. "This bird got into the royal kitchen and stole a piece of cake. I figured you'd respect the bravery."

Eris finally glanced at the bird. It chirped once and puffed up proudly.

"...Cake thief," Eris muttered. "Fitting."

"Exactly!" Maria said, sitting beside her. "I named him Valor. Because he risks everything for sugar."

Just then, a sleek black cat slinked around the tree and leapt onto Eris's lap without hesitation.

Maria gasped. "Oh no. That's Midnight. She doesn't sit on just anyone."

The bird flapped nervously. The cat purred. Eris blinked.

"This is a setup," she said flatly.

Maria put on her most innocent smile. "Maybe. Or maybe they both like you. Or maybe—" she leaned in, eyes twinkling, "—you're secretly soft and sweet, just like that cake Valor stole."

Eris sighed deeply. Midnight was already asleep on her leg. The bird hopped onto her shoulder.

"I'm being held hostage by animals."

Maria leaned back, hands behind her head. "Then surrender gracefully."

A pause.

Eris, with a faint smile:

"Fine. But if they shed on my armor, you're cleaning it."

"Deal," Maria whispered, victorious.

From the trees above, a light breeze rustled the leaves, and for once — just once — Eris didn't feel so heavy.

Shiora Realm – Mirror Sayu

While wiping an old mirror at home during Nujah's absence, Sayu muttered:

— "I wish everything wouldn't go wrong today…"

The mirror sparkled.

A second Sayu tumbled out in a burst of light.

— "I'm Reverse Sayu! I hate cleaning and I rule over chaos!"

When their mother walked in:

— "Which one of you is real?"

The real Sayu quickly pointed.

— "Me! She refuses to clean!"

Reverse Sayu plopped onto the bed, munching chips.

Sayu tried wiping the mirror again—but it was useless.

With two Sayus in one house, everything spiraled into glorious madness.

Eventually, their mom dragged both out to the balcony:

— "Neither of you can come back in until the house is spotless!"
