While Senzo and Andy were following after her, Yugiri was looking around, unsure what to do now.
"Uh..."
Seeing all the adults walking past her and being all alone surrounded by strangers was very overwhelming for her.
She gripped the hem of her dress tightly while staring at the ground and hearing all kinds of whispers around her.
"Whose child is that? Is she lost?"
"Just leave her alone..."
Just hearing that was very disheartening, but she wouldn't give up. Clenching her small fist tightly, she looked around for something she could give to him.
That's when she suddenly saw a booth, and they had just the thing she was looking for: a sakura-themed omamori lucky charm.
She immediately approached the booth where she had seen it, but the moment she arrived, she didn't know what to do.
"Um..."
She stood on her tippy toes, raising her head just above the counter as she tried desperately to get the clerk's attention, but it was to no avail.
While she was doing her best to try and get his attention, other people kept coming to the booth and ordering other omamori.
"Excuse me, I'll take this one, please." An older woman said, handing the clerk an omamori.
"Thank you, that will be 500 yen."
The older woman paid immediately, and she was gone before Yugiri knew it.
"Thank you very much!"
The clerk said while waving her goodbye before turning around to continue organizing his booth.
"..."
Yugiri kept standing there on her tippy toes, but it was like she was completely invisible, but she really wanted that specific lucky charm; otherwise, she would go back empty-handed.
Just thinking about that made her shoulders droop, and with a defeated expression, she slowly backed away from the booth, with tears forming at the edges of her eyes.
That's when she suddenly saw Senzo and Andy looking around.
"Ah!"
Without hesitation she ran straight toward Senzo, wiping the tears from her eyes.
"Um. I'm sorry for causing trouble."
She meekly said while tugging at Senzo's sleeve.
"Oh, there you are, Yugiri." He turned around after hearing her voice and feeling someone tug on his sleeve.
And with a big smile he patted her head, reassuring her.
"Don't worry about it; it must have been overwhelming with Momiji. I'm sure that Magi must be giving her a piece of his mind."
Hearing that, Yugiri raised her arms while doing her cutest puppy eyes.
"What?!" Senzo was momentarily taken aback by how adorable she was, but without hesitation he lifted her up and put her down on his shoulder.
"Is that better?"
"Nnn!"
She nodded her head vigorously, a massive smile blooming on her face, and without hesitation she pointed toward a certain booth.
"Can we go there?"
"Sure, why not? Oi, Andy, let's go; I found her." Senzo casually remarked, and without waiting for a reply, he made his way toward the booth she was pointing at.
"Uh, sure?" While he was busy looking around, he suddenly heard Senzo shout, which so completely caught him off guard that he looked around and finally saw her sitting on his shoulder without a care in the world.
"Well, it's good that we found her without incident," he muttered before hurriedly running after the two.
"So where are we going?"
"She wants to go to a certain booth, so we're just going there."
Andy raised an eyebrow and looked at the little girl sitting on Senzo's shoulder but decided not to comment.
And before long they had arrived at the booth she was pointing at, and now on the shoulder of Senzo the clerk saw her immediately.
"Hello, how can I help you?"
He politely inquired, seeing the two men carrying a little girl.
"Which one do you want?" Senzo gently asked.
"The one with the beautiful pink flowers on it." Yugiri stated, pointing at a certain omamori.
"Can we please have the Sakura-themed omamori?" Senzo politely asked.
"Of course, that will be 500 yen."
"Oh."
Then, without hesitation, he slapped Andy's shoulder with a broad smile.
"You don't mind chipping in, right? I kind of don't have any money on me right now."
"..."
The clerk and Andy looked at Senzo with wide eyes, as if they couldn't believe what they were hearing.
In this day and age, he wasn't carrying any money on him?
"Sure... But you owe me one."
After paying, Yugiri was hugging the lucky charm with a silly grin on her face; the clerk had even put it inside a bag so she didn't have to wrap it anymore.
"Thank you very much!" The clerk said while Senzo, Andy, and Yugiri left the booth.
"See you," Senzo casually said, waving at the clerk.
Andy, on the other hand, was just looking at the grinning little girl that treated a lucky charm like it was her most precious possession.
"Erm, so what now?" Andy suddenly said, looking around.
"Well, we are at a theme park, no? Why don't we have some fun?" Senzo said with a grin.
But the only thing Andy could hear was him taking advantage of the fact that he'd have to pay for everything.
But before he replied, Senzo turned toward him, showing Yugiri's hopeful gaze.
"..."
Well, why not? She does deserve it.
While glaring at Senzo, he sighed and slumped his shoulders a little but gave a nod.
"Sure, let's go!"
"Hehe." Yugiri now had a massive smile on her face, and she could hardly wait to try out everything it had to offer.
But just as they were about to start exploring the amusement park, they saw a sign that ruined everything.
"High-level espers are not permitted beyond this point."
"Ah..."
"Bruh, don't go acting like you want to listen to a stupid sign." Senzo said, and without hesitation he stepped past it while carrying Yugiri on his shoulder.
Andy could only chuckle; of course he wasn't about to follow the sign's directions, but scaring Yugiri a little might have been fun.
Following close behind the two espers, Andy also entered the park.
