Chapter 218 - Chapter 218: Halloween Attack! The Goblin War Begins!

The Gryffindor students froze in place, staring at the violently defaced portrait and the ghostly inscription that seemed to demand their lives.

Fear gripped their bodies like a massive hand!

"Go get Ethan!"

In the crowd, someone blurted it out without thinking.

Then, they suddenly realized how embarrassing that was.

Why call Ethan?

They should be calling Headmaster Dumbledore!

Several students hurriedly turned around.

They ran straight into a sturdy, silver-white armored figure!

"Bang!"

A dull thud echoed.

The student was knocked to the ground, as if forced to kneel.

His forehead ached, and he felt disoriented.

Angrily and anxiously, he looked up, just about to question the figure.

He met a blood-red eyeball.

"Gurgle."

The eyeball rotated, its round pupil staring curiously at him.

Veins pulsed around it like blood vessels.

Reflecting his terrified face.

"Ahhhhh! Sirius is here!!!"

"Sirius?"

Ethan lifted the grated visor of his armor.

He weighed the silver-white warhammer in his hand.

Looking down at the screaming Gryffindor student on the ground, he said enthusiastically, "Are you looking for Sirius? He's not here."

Just moments ago, he had seen Sirius, in his "spotty dog" form, emerge from under the Whomping Willow.

The student stared at Ethan, still shaken.

In his mind, he wanted to say, "I'm not looking for Sirius! I'm going to find Dumbledore."

But what came out of his mouth was, "Why are you dressed like that?"

He looked like he was about to start a death game at Hogwarts!

"Oh."

Ethan smiled brightly, hoisting the warhammer, which was covered in blood-red eyeballs capable of slaying the undead.

"I'm playing 'You Chase Me, I Run' with the ghosts. It's great fun."

Not far away, the ghosts shook their heads like rattles, their terror palpable.

Even their appearance was a few shades grayer.

Ethan: "It's very Halloween, right?"

The student silently looked at Ethan's sunny, cheerful smile.

Suddenly, he felt much more at ease.

When a red-skinned fellow covered in skulls stands before you, a fugitive who can only impotently rage and scratch at a door seems quite "cute."

Ethan put away his warhammer, amidst the ghosts' cheers of "Hooray! We live another day."

He was pushed to the front by the students.

When he saw "I Am Watching You" carved on the wall, his pupils contracted slightly.

Seeing this, the students all nervously swallowed.

Indeed, it's very tricky, isn't it?

Even Ethan, the Grim Reaper, was deep in thought!

Little did they know, at this moment, Ethan was thinking:

It's similar, very similar.

This method of leaving messages on the wall.

Isn't it a re-enactment of last year's Chamber of Secrets attack at Hogwarts!

Coincidentally, he had just told Sirius about this a few days ago.

Hmm, good learning ability.

He'll teach him more in the future.

Ethan knew that Sirius wasn't trying to kill his godson Harry.

He wanted to kill the traitor, Peter Pettigrew.

Therefore, this threatening message must be for Peter to see.

Ethan's eyes flickered.

He looked at the trembling lump in Ron's pocket.

Suddenly, he maliciously curled his lips.

This is not bad either.

Be afraid, as much as you can, before the final judgment comes.

Then, at the moment you think you can escape, plunge into the abyss.

"By my reckoning, it's about time."

Ethan's gaze was like a torch.

Blood surged through his body like a rushing river.

It was time to lead his Enlightenment Society and the selected students to the past, to begin the final battle with the Goblins!

To reclaim the lost Ancient Magic.

Headmaster Dumbledore arrived quickly.

He looked at the destroyed portrait and wall, feeling a throbbing in his forehead.

Does this castle really have to be destroyed?

This familiar way of leaving messages was like an appetizer.

It made Dumbledore feel as if he was seeing a mountain of history at the end of the long table, which he had no choice but to taste.

Dumbledore: "Prefects stay, Prefects organize the students to the Great Hall!"

As he spoke, he glanced at Ethan in the crowd.

Their eyes met.

Ethan gave him an "OK" gesture.

Dumbledore became even more worried.

To this day, he still didn't know what Ethan was really up to.

Why was he researching Goblin alchemy, and organizing practical training for students?

Could it be that Ethan's interest this year was to make "Hogwarts stand up"?

And what was his connection with Sirius?

"First, seal the school and thoroughly investigate every corner of Hogwarts."

Dumbledore sighed, his voice grave.

Although it's highly likely they'll find nothing.

After all, Ethan was a BUG.

Just his Portal alone could transport people anywhere without anyone knowing.

If Sirius truly joined forces with Ethan...

Then even if Sirius entered and exited the school right under the Dementors' noses, the useless Dementors wouldn't catch him.

"Speaking of which, Hagrid told me that Ethan found him a good helper—"

Great Hall.

Students from all four houses were gathered together.

At first, everyone was enthusiastically discussing how Sirius had managed to get into the school.

Hannah Abbott of Hufflepuff swore that Sirius had turned into a flowering bush and sneaked in that way.

As they talked, the topic veered off.

They started discussing Ethan's Defense Against the Dark Arts Class practical activities.

"Thinking about it, Ethan is really looking out for us! At least with the training, we won't be completely clueless—"

"As long as Sirius dares to come, I'll slide tackle him—!"

At the Gryffindor table, Ron and Hermione looked at Harry with concern.

Sirius's sudden attack shattered the illusion of peace and tranquility.

It made them think of Professor Trelawney's prophecy—

"Judgment will descend."

"An evil soul will destroy the hero in the eyes of the world!"

Sirius would kill Harry!!

Ron whispered comfortingly:

"Hey, mate, look on the bright side."

"In the prophecy, things like opening a dusty mansion, or a secret treasure behind a painting, none of those have happened!"

"Prophecies don't always come true, especially from that crazy old woman who only curses people!"

Ron patted Harry's shoulder.

"Besides, aren't you receiving practical training from Ethan and Professor Lupin! And you're even going to fight Goblins."

You'll become stronger than Sirius!

"—Thanks, Ron."

Harry forced a smile.

He felt a little better.

But on the other side, Hermione remained silent.

She thought of one of the end-game conditions in the prophecy: "When the non-existent war is won."

Was Ethan's "Goblin War" considered a "non-existent war"?

Ultimately, what did these conditions have to do with Sirius eventually killing Harry?

Hermione's rationality told her that this prophecy was very strange.

It seemed they were all wrong.

Their thinking had fallen into a huge misconception.

They thought they were struggling.

But in the end, they found they were already deeply entangled in a spider's web.

And had personally turned themselves into a delicious meal.

The Great Hall transformed into a starry night.

A gentle breeze blew.

Although outside was in chaos—they were looking for Sirius—what did it have to do with Ethan?

Ethan slept very well.

The next day.

Great Hall.

As the students, yawning and swaying, emerged from their garishly purple sleeping bags, Ethan, already fully dressed, announced a "heartening" piece of news:

"This Defense Against the Dark Arts Class practical activity will officially begin this Friday evening!"

"We will go and experience a war, where we will use the magic we have diligently practiced to defend human rights and repel the greedy and vicious Goblins!"

In a moment of stillness, Ethan stood on the podium, his arm raised high, looking radiant.

In his cobalt-blue eyes, a fervent starlight shimmered.
