Chapter 158 - Post-Mortem Will

Before the match began, Biscuit had confirmed through conversation that Morrow had also identified the weakness in Orion's ability.

Yet she never expected Morrow to strike Orion's vital point with such ruthless precision.

This was absolute domination, both tactically and in terms of ability.

Just like that, he had effortlessly crushed an opponent whose raw strength surpassed his own.

While intelligence played a role, how one utilized it was another matter entirely.

Truly astonishing.

Biscuit's bright eyes reflected Morrow's retreating figure as he walked straight toward the exit tunnel.

She then watched as the referee announced Morrow's victory before hastily rushing off the stage to stop him from leaving, only to fail. A faint smile tugged at her lips.

This guy seemed utterly indifferent to fame and fortune, completely uninterested in the roars of his fervent fans.

Just as he had been after his previous victories, even now, as the champion of the Battle Olympia, he remained unchanged.

Beside Biscuit, Wing, Calista, and Menchi stared blankly at Morrow's retreating back.

They had all lost to him before and were well aware of his strength.

But after witnessing today's match between Morrow and Orion, they finally realized...

What truly made Morrow terrifying!

Inside the arena, the crowd roared Morrow's name, many screaming themselves hoarse, their faces flushed with excitement.

They were all waiting for his victory speech.

Yet Morrow had no intention of staying. Under countless gazes, he strode step by step toward the competitor's tunnel.

The commentator struggled to control the situation, inwardly cursing Morrow the entire time.

She swore that from now on, she would never commentate another one of Morrow's matches at Heavens Arena.

The Floor Masters present watched Morrow's back with complicated expressions.

They had climbed the 200 floors with gritted teeth, fought tooth and nail for their positions, and even risked their lives for Heavens Arena's highest honor.

Yet...

What they had desperately pursued held no value, not even enough to make that young man named Morrow pause for a moment.

—--

From the VIP seats, elites from various fields watched in surprise as Morrow neared the tunnel entrance.

The allure of fame and fortune was intoxicating.

They were masters of that game and understood its pull.

Yet they never expected to encounter an anomaly like Morrow in a place like Heavens Arena, where glory and prestige were chased so fiercely.

"Hohoho."

Netero stroked his beard, a faint smile playing on his lips.

This kid was far too interesting.

Amused, he watched as the referee, flustered and sweating, failed to stop Morrow.

He then recalled that among the younger generation he had encountered recently, the one who left the deepest impression was Morrow, someone he had only discovered recently.

It was a shame Morrow couldn't participate in this year's Hunter Exam. Otherwise, Netero would have pushed Biscuit to hurry up and get him a Hunter License, even if it meant forcing him into it.

Besides, the results of recent Hunter Exams had been disappointing, with not a single qualified candidate.

If someone with potential like Morrow participated, perhaps it could breathe new life into the exam.

"Hm?"

Suddenly, Netero's sharp gaze shifted toward the empty, devastated ring.

Orion's body had already been swiftly carried away by the medical team. But at that moment, a wisp of black Nen like a flame appeared out of thin air on the arena, growing visibly stronger at an alarming rate.

"Post-Mortem Will."

Netero's eyes suddenly sharpened.

He was not entirely unfamiliar with the Mind Illusion Style.

And indeed, such heretical path methods were more prone to leaving behind Post-Mortem Will.

In Netero's view, however, the very existence of the Mind Illusion Style was an aberration.

If it could vanish completely with Orion's death, that would be for the best.

Yet he never expected Orion would continue to wreak havoc even in death.

"Such intense obsession..."

Watching the rapidly intensifying Post-Mortem Will on the arena, Netero slowly rose to his feet, his brow furrowing slightly.

His sudden movement immediately drew the attention of the surrounding dignitaries.

—--

Elsewhere in the audience stands.

Nen users like Biscuit also noticed the Post-Mortem Will that had manifested out of nowhere on the arena.

"How rare."

Some Nen users were startled by the sight.

Like Netero, Biscuit was initially surprised to see the Post-Mortem Will, but upon recalling the nature of the Mind Illusion Style, it no longer seemed strange.

The only concern now was the sheer intensity of Orion's Post-Mortem Will.

She wondered if Morrow would be able to handle it.

"What is that...!?"

Calista exclaimed in shock beside her.

Having trained in Nen for less than half a year, she had no knowledge of Post-Mortem Will.

Yet she could feel an ominous, malevolent aura radiating from the twisted mass of black Nen.

"The power of Nen does not dissipate with death... sometimes, it grows even stronger because of it!"

Wing stared gravely at the Post-Mortem Nen on the arena, his voice low and serious:

"I've been fortunate enough to witness it once before. Post-Mortem Will left behind after being killed by someone usually seeks out the perpetrator directly. But the intensity of this one... it's deeply unsettling."

"Then, Master..."

Calista abruptly stood up.

At that moment, the Post-Mortem Will on the arena shot like a meteor toward the competitor's tunnel.

—--

Meanwhile.

Morrow strode through the competitor's tunnel, intending to visit Kastro in the infirmary first.

He had already confirmed Orion's death through the level-up notifications on his Tree Rings.

「Lv.46 → Lv.48」

Orion's strength had been formidable, and in these increasingly difficult times to level up, his defeat had granted Morrow two consecutive levels.

Suddenly,

Morrow halted mid-step, sensing something as he turned to look down the long, wide tunnel.

A powerful, malevolent Post-Mortem Will soared through the air before stopping abruptly nearby, visibly materializing into Orion.

"Hahaha...!"

Orion landed steadily, laughing maniacally. "Morrow, I must thank you! Thanks to you, I've finally shed this fragile, useless human shell. Now, I am omnipotent! Hahaha..."

Before his laughter faded, he suddenly looked down at the seething black flame-like Nen in his palm, his tone tinged with emotion:

"Who would have thought... that 'death' was the true essence of the Mind Illusion Style? Morrow, to show my gratitude for helping me realize this, I'll make sure your death is excruciating!"

"..."

Morrow stared in surprise at Orion, now enveloped in a powerful black Nen.

"Heh. Haha."

After a brief silence, he burst into laughter. Seeing this, Orion's violent killing intent suddenly froze. He said coldly, "It's fine. Laugh all you want for now, but I can guarantee you won't be laughing later."

"So the aggressive personality stayed behind? When Biscuit first mentioned the 'Mind Illusion Style,' I wondered if something like this might happen. Interesting, truly interesting."

Ignoring Orion's threats, Morrow gradually stopped laughing. His eyes were calm and unreadable as he looked at Orion and said indifferently:

"All I can say is... the one who created the Mind Illusion Style was both a madman and a genius. But the fact that it's you who remained, and not the rational personality, is truly wonderful."

"..."

Orion frowned.

Why this kind of reaction?

Shouldn't he be wary or afraid of his overwhelming aura right now?

"Are you confused?"

Morrow suddenly appeared right in front of Orion, placing a hand lightly on his shoulder.

A tremendous suction force materialized out of nowhere.

Orion snapped his gaze to Morrow, his expression one of shock.
