Chapter 28 - Chapter 28 - Meeting The Pack

"Jesus!" Indianna gasped and covered her eyes, spinning around. "Put some clothes on!"

"But, Indie," Greyson said, walking forward until he was behind her. "I just love feeling free," he smirked.

Indianna could feel his breath against her ear as Greyson kissed her neck.

"Sure you don't want a peek?"

Indianna snapped back to reality before the sparks could take over and shoved him away with her shoulder.

"Put some bloody clothes on."

Greyson laughed and walked off, only to appear again seconds later wearing shorts.

Indianna couldn't help but glance at his abs. He had a clear eight-pack, and his muscular, defined chest was covered in tattoos.

She hadn't noticed before, but when Greyson's dark hair wasn't styled up in his usual quiff, it was actually quite long. Right now, it was pushed back from his face messily, with strands of fringe falling in front of his eyes.

"Take a picture, sugar. It'll last longer," Greyson smirked.

Indianna narrowed her eyes at him.

"I wasn't looking," she muttered.

"Sure you weren't," he scoffed. "So what did you and Kal talk about?"

"Your pack."

"Our."

"Your," Indianna repeated.

"Indie," Greyson said lowly. "You may not want to be Luna of this pack, but you are, and nothing you can do can change that. Stop fighting it."

"I'll fight it as long as I can," she shrugged.

She turned around, but suddenly the world blurred past her. Indianna gasped and stumbled slightly.

"Werewolf speed," Greyson said, catching her and steadying her. "You're going to have to learn to control it."

"I can't control it when I don't realise I'm doing it," Indianna frowned.

"After the Change, it'll become easier to tell when you're moving at normal speed and when you're walking at a human pace," Greyson explained. "Now let's go."

"Where?"

"Inside."

Greyson linked his fingers with Indianna's and pulled her towards the house. He wrapped his arm around her as they entered.

"Hey, Mac!" Greyson called, stopping a guy with blonde hair as he walked past.

"What's up, Grey?" Mac asked.

He was slightly older than Greyson, probably around twenty-two, and seemed completely comfortable around him.

"You seen my sister?"

"I'm currently trying to find her," Mac replied.

"And a shit job you're doing."

Mac turned around just as Kirstie appeared. She grinned and kissed Mac on the cheek.

"Polite as ever," Mac muttered.

"Indianna, your room is finished," Kirstie said. "If you don't like it or want anything changed, just let me know."

Indianna nodded.

"Thanks."

"Indie, Mac is Kirstie's mate. Mac, meet Indianna, my mate," Greyson introduced.

"Pleasure to meet you, Luna," Mac smiled.

Indianna nodded shyly.

"You too," she said quickly, not liking being called Luna.

"I'm relieved Greyson finally has someone to calm his bloody anger issues," Mac teased.

"I do not have anger issues," Greyson snapped.

Kirstie chuckled.

"Let's go, Mac," she said. "Hope you like the room, Indianna!"

The two of them walked away, and Greyson looked down at Indianna.

"You're so shy around new people," he muttered, shaking his head.

"I can't help it," Indianna said defensively.

She pulled away from Greyson and headed towards the stairs. He immediately caught up with her.

"You just have to talk to more people."

"I don't want to."

"You're the Luna. You're going to have to."

"I don't want to."

"I don't care," Greyson shrugged and Indianna narrowed her eyes at him. "Don't look at me like that. You may not like talking to new people but in the long run it will benefit you being more confident."

Indianna sighed and they reached Indianna's new room. "I'm shy, I can deal with it, you need to learn to," Indianna shrugged and opened the door. She stepped inside and looked around. The room was simple with light wooden floors and pale blue walls with a white floral pattern. There was a four poster bed pushed up against the wall, a desk, a dresser and wardrobe and a door that Greyson said led to a bathroom. "It's nice," Indianna said, going to sit down on the bed.

"Mine's nicer," Greyson shrugged, kicking the door shut with his foot.

"I'm not sharing with you."

"You will," Greyson smirked, "soon enough."

Indianna narrowed her eyes at him and he chuckled. "Can you teach me how to get into your head?"

"Well seeing as you don't want to share with me, then no," Greyson shrugged.

"You ass."

"I want to introduce you to the pack," Greyson said and Indianna paled.

"The pack?" She repeated. "That sounds like a lot of people."

"We are a rather small pack because we are specialised, we only have around 150 members, young and old included," Greyson said.

"Small?" Indianna squeaked. "I'm good with staying here. I like it here."

"You're going to have to meet everyone eventually."

"But not now."

"Yes now," Greyson nodded and held his hand out to Indianna. "Let's go."

"No."

"You won't have to talk. I've gathered the pack and I want to introduce you so everyone knows who you are if they see you walking around the pack house."

"I don't want too," Indianna frowned.

"I know and I don't care."

"You aren't very nice, Greyson."

"Deal with it, sugar," Greyson shrugged and grabbed Indianna's hand, yanking her up from the bed.

"Ow!" She snapped and hit his stomach.

His bare and muscle defined stomach.

Greyson chuckled and wrapped his large arm round Indianna's shoulder and pinned her to his side. "Sugar, I understand that you are new to this world, but you need to realise how important you are as the Luna to this pack. You don't get how packs work, you haven't grown up in one, but please be willing to learn. Otherwise I will drag you downstairs by your hair." Greyson's tone turned dark towards the end and Indianna gulped, looking up at him with a glare.

"You need to realise that it's going to be hard for me to get used to this weird werewolf shit! I'm used to not having to worry about anything, but all of a sudden I have responsibilities that I don't want, and apparently I can't avoid them! Greyson, I can't just flip a switch and turn into a super confident 'Luna'. It's going to take a hell of a lot of time for me to get used to it," Indianna snapped and let out a long breath.

"You don't need to be super conf-"

There was a knock on the door and Brooke poked her head in. "Greyson, the pack has gathered, they're waiting on you," she said and Greyson sighed in frustration, running his fingers through his hair.

"Talk to her," he muttered and walked out of the room.

Brooke closed the door behind her and frowned. "Talk about what, hun?"

"He wants me to meet the pack and be a super confident Luna that is willing to talk to everyone, but I can't be," Indianna said and sat back on the bed.

Brooke sighed and joined Indianna on the soft mattress. "It took me a while to get used to pack life. I'm not a werewolf, but I'm Harry's mate so I'm a member of the pack. It's a big deal in the werewolf world. Your pack is your family. They are vital communities and without them the werewolf world would fall apart. It's hard to get your head around, but they need an Alpha and Luna. The pack members need someone to look up to, someone to help them through tough times, someone to lead. It may seem that Greyson isn't taking your shyness into consideration, but he needs you. He won't expect you to be super confident straight away. I'm pretty sure he wants you to enter pack life little by little. He knows you won't jump in, greet everybody, start conversations and build relationships straight away- he just wants you to build up to it."

"He wants me to meet the whole pack. Now," Indianna frowned and chewed on her lip nervously.

"I know," Brooke said softly and stood up. "You going to?"

"I don't want to," Indianna mumbled.

"You won't have to do anything, Hun," Brooke said. "And I'm pretty sure Greyson is explaining right now to the pack about your personality. Your father's story is famous amongst werewolves, it's understandable that you have been affected because of your past, they aren't going to judge you."

"They're going to think I'm some sort of mental person," Indianna mumbled, rubbing her scarred wrist with her hand.

"No they won't. You are their Luna and they will do everything possible to help you. The bond pack members feel towards their Alpha and Luna is indescribable. I don't know if Kal or Greyson have told you this, but pack members are super protective of their Luna. It's embedded in werewolf DNA. You are one of the most important people in this pack, one day you will bring pups into this world and they will be next in line for the Alpha title, you are vital for the continuation of the pack. Because of this pack members are drawn to protect you, whether they realise they are doing it or not. No one is going to judge you. They're going to want to help you. Protect you. Make you feel comfortable and at ease."

Indianna gulped and looked at Brooke. "Why will they want to do that for... Me?"

"Hun, did you just hear anything I just said?" Brooke said with a laugh. "Indie, I'm telling to truth. No one is going to judge you, force you to talk to loads of people or put unnecessary pressure on you."

Indianna chewed on her lip nervously and sighed. "Promise?"

"I promise, Hun. Being the mate of the pack Warrior has its perks, if anyone does make you uncomfortable I've got mad skills," Brooke grinned and punched the air.

"Mad skills?" Indianna repeated with a laugh and Brooke chuckled.

"Okay, that's a lie. Harry is teaching me how to fight, but it's not good learning from the best fighter in the pack, I always end up on my ass! I'm only little, I can't punch for shit!" Indianna laughed again and Brooke jumped up from the bed and held her hand out. "Ready, Indie?"

Indianna took a deep breath and grabbed Brooke's hand and stood up. Brooke smiled comfortingly and linked her arm through Indianna's, walking to the door. The pack house was empty as they made their way through the corridors and Indianna took the moment of peace to try and calm her breathing.

She suddenly wanted to be near Greyson. To feel his touch and let the sparks run up and down her body. She felt very on edge, knowing that she was going to walk into a room full of strangers. She needed Greyson to sooth her nerves. Make her feel safe.

She hated that she wanted him.

Indianna gulped when she heard Greyson's voice and her eyes landed on a large set of doors that were getting closer every step she was taking.

"Respect her space, respect her," Greyson was saying. "She needs time to get comfortable and open up. If I see anyone making her uncomfortable I will not be happy. You may do it by accident so just be careful. Give her time and she will feel at home soon enough."

Indianna and Brooke stopped by the door and Indianna took a deep breath as Brooke started to push the door open. Indianna peeked through the gap and she gasped when she saw the amount of people in the hall they were about to enter.

"Brooke!" Indianna whispered, grabbing Brooke's hand in panic. "Everyone is going to be looking at me... I can't."

"You can, Hun," Brooke said soothingly as Greyson started to talk about Rogue.

"He is our top priority!" Greyson announced. "Kill on sight. He needs to be taken out as soon as possible."

Indianna zoned Greyson's deep and raspy voice out and focused on Brooke. "You'll be fine," Brooke said softly, pushing the doors open the whole way.

Greyson's eyes snapped to Indianna's and he nodded slightly to Brooke who shrugged and squeezed Indianna's hand comfortingly. Indianna looked around the large hall and gulped when she saw every single pair of eyes trained on her. There was an aisle running down the middle of the hall and Brooke nudged Indianna, walking down the aisle.

"Everybody!" Greyson called, holding his hand out to Indianna to help her up the stairs and onto the stage. Indianna gripped his hand tightly and he pulled her into his side, wrapping his arm around her protectively. The sparks shot down her arm and calmed her slightly. She leaned into Greyson's chest and warily looked out into the large crowd.

She was terrified.

She hated how she was meant to have so much responsibility over these people. How she was meant to lead them. Bond with them.

The thought of having to make relationships and open up to that many people scared her.

"Everyone," Greyson repeated and ran his fingers up and down Indianna's arm. "I'd like to introduce your Luna and my mate: Indianna Hughs. Indie, meet the the members of your pack." Every single pack member rose from their seats and bowed their heads to Indianna, making her frown.

"No," Indianna said quietly, looking up to Greyson. "I don't want people bowing to me."

"It's respectful," Greyson said into her ear.

"I don't like it. I don't want them bowing."

"Everyone, you heard your Luna," Greyson called and it was then when Indianna remembered about the heightened hearing of a werewolf. "She doesn't want you to bow." The pack all sat back down and Greyson kissed Indianna gently on her forehead. "You are all dismissed, but don't forget training tomorrow!" Greyson called and the pack all rose and headed for the door.

Indianna sighed loudly and elbowed Greyson in the ribs. "I hate you."

"No you don't," Greyson smirked and they made their way down from the stage. "See, it wasn't that bad."

"I don't like people!" Indianna snapped. "Of course it was bad!"

"You didn't do anything."

"And even that made me want to shit my pants," Indianna muttered and Kal snorted, overhearing their conversation.

"You were fine," Brooke assured Indianna and smiled at her as Harry wrapped his arms round Brooke's waist.

"Alpha," a woman called and made her way over to Greyson and the others.

"What, Marianne?" Greyson asked and the woman- Marianne- looked at Indianna with wide eyes. Indianna squirmed uncomfortably under her gaze and Greyson stiffened. "What did I just talk about, Marianna?"

"Oh my, I apologise, Luna, I don't mean to make you uncomfortable, it's just... You look so much like him," Marianne said softly and Indianna frowned. "Your father."

"You knew him?" Indianna whispered.

"Our packs used to be close, even though we were a continent away from each other. Your mother and I were close friends. I knew your father well. He was a great man, I am awfully sorry for what happened to him. He didn't deserve it."

Indianna nodded and scratched the scar on her wrist. "He didn't."

"I was wondering if your mother was in town," Marianne said. "I would love to see her again."

"She is," Indianna said stiffly.

"Her mother and her aren't close," Greyson explained. "However I will arrange for one of the guards we have placed on her to take you to her house."

"Thank you, Alpha," Marianna smiled and looked at Indianna. "It was a pleasure to meet you."

"Yeah," Indianna mumbled. "You too."

Marianne walked off and Greyson looked down at Indianna. "You okay with her seeing your mum?"

Indianna shrugged. "I don't control who my mother sees."

"Oh shoot!" Brooke exclaimed suddenly, looking at her phone. "I'm late for work, I've got to run."

"I'll take you," Harry said and Brooke waved her hand dismissively.

"It's fine, I can walk."

"Do you really think I'm going to let you walk through the woods alone when Rogue is out there?" Harry said. His expression was blank, but Brooke knew he wouldn't take no for an answer.

"Lead the way," she sighed and Harry put his arm round Brooke's shoulder and they walked out of the room.

"You hungry?" Greyson asked Indianna and she shrugged.

"A little."

"Come on then," Greyson said and held his hand out.

"I remember the way," Indianna said with a small smirk and walked past him.

Greyson chuckled and shook his head, catching up to Indianna in a few short strides. The corridors were busy and full of life when Greyson and Indianna exited the room and Indianna grabbed Greyson's hand, liking how the tingles calmed her nerves. *They aren't going to hurt you, sugar. You don't need to be scared.*

*Greyson, shut up,* Indianna muttered. "I know I don't, I just can't help it."

It was empty in the kitchen and Greyson let go of Indianna's hand to search through the cupboards. He grabbed a bunch of ingredients and put a frying pan on the hob. "Omelette alright?" He asked and Indianna nodded. Greyson started to cook and Indianna watched in silence, trying not to think about how hot Greyson looked while cooking.

*Thanks,* Greyson said and Indianna went red, glaring at Greyson.

"Shut up," she muttered and Greyson smirked, sliding a plate in front of her.

"Done," he said, handing her a knife and fork. "Eat up."

"Greyson," Indianna said after a moment. "Where are your parents?"

"On holiday," he said. "They should be back in a few weeks."

"Oh," Indianna nodded and started to eat her food. She was halfway through her omelette when she frowned and dropped her knife and fork.

"What's wrong?" Greyson asked.

"I smell something," Indianna said and scrunched her nose up. "Blood. I smell blood."
