As soon as Kimberly exited Laura's car, Greyson stormed over to her and slammed her against the vehicle, holding her up by the neck.
"Greyson!" Laura shrieked and tried to pull her son away from the pink-haired girl, but it was no use.
"You stupid little bitch!" Greyson hissed. "You think you can get away with that little stunt? I should kill you. You nearly got Indianna arrested and possibly expelled!"
"Greyson, stop it!" Laura yelled.
Indianna watched from the front door of the pack house.
After clearing up the situation at school, she and Greyson had come home to wait for Kimberly.
She knew she should probably stop Greyson, but deep down, she didn't want to.
"She goes," Greyson hissed before dropping Kimberly to the floor. She immediately erupted into a coughing fit.
"Greyson, I know what she did was wrong, but she can't leave. Where else can she go?"
"Does it look like I give a shit?" Greyson yelled and glared at Kimberly. "She can sleep in a bin for all I care. If she isn't gone by tonight, I'll personally drag her into the woods by her hair and tie her to a tree."
Kimberly paled at the threat, and Indianna knew she had to calm Greyson before he attacked her.
She walked over to him and linked her fingers with his, pulling him close.
Calm down, Indianna said soothingly and kissed his cheek. I don't like her, but I don't want you to kill her.
Greyson's anger slowly began to fade beneath her touch.
"Fine," he muttered. "But she's still leaving."
Indianna was in Greyson's office, sitting on the leather couch and reading a book. She was bored out of her mind, but she wanted to be there when Greyson arrived with his father. She needed to know what had been said about Rogue.
Greyson knew that Indianna was in his office, but his father, Mark, was surprised to see her.
"Indie," he smiled as Greyson walked over to his desk, kissing Indianna as he passed her. "It's lovely to see you again. I'm sorry to hear about what happened earlier with Kimberly."
"It's okay. It got sorted," Indianna said.
Greyson sat behind his desk, and Mark took the chair in front of it. Greyson sighed.
"The Elders don't know where Rogue is or how to find him," Greyson told Indianna.
"They told me that all packs will be alerted, and the order has been given to kill on sight," Mark said. "They sent trackers out, and they could faintly trace his scent to this town, but it vanished. They searched, but no one could find him."
"Right," Indianna gulped. "So what now?"
"We keep our guard up, and I keep training you," Greyson said. "You need to be able to fight properly."
"Rogue isn't invincible. When he comes out of the shadows, we'll be prepared," Mark said. "The Elders have given us their full resources. As soon as we're aware of Rogue's location, they'll dispatch some of their best fighters to assist us if necessary. The neighbouring packs are bound to help. They all know your story, Indie. Your father was a kind and well-liked Alpha, and Rogue has to be stopped."
"I'll get Ace to reach out to the other packs," Greyson nodded.
"What about tomorrow?" Indianna wondered. "Surely that's the best time for him to attack, when we're travelling alone?"
"We won't be alone. We'll be escorted by our pack members to Janson's territory. A few pack members will stay with us, and the others will return home. They'll journey back to Janson's pack when we're ready to leave.
"Rogue wouldn't dare attack such a large number of wolves. He may be unstable, but he isn't stupid."
Indianna nodded, feeling slightly comforted by Greyson's precautions.
"Okay," she said.
Greyson sighed loudly and stood up.
"Now that's sorted, are you ready for bed?"
It was late, and Indianna had been waiting for Greyson for a while. She nodded and yawned as she stood up.
Greyson wrapped his arm around her waist and held her close.
"I'll see you two tomorrow," Mark said.
The couple left Greyson's office, and within minutes they were in his room.
"Did I say I wanted to sleep here tonight?" Indianna wondered, a teasing tone in her voice.
"No," Greyson said lowly and pulled his top over his head. "But you're not leaving this room."
Indianna raised an eyebrow as Greyson kicked off his shoes.
"Oh, really?"
She took a teasing step towards the door, but Greyson was in front of her a second later. He closed the door and pulled her towards the bed.
Indianna gasped when she landed on the soft mattress.
Greyson sat beside her and pulled her close, kissing her gently.
Indianna reached for his shirt and tugged it back over his head.
"Not tonight," she yawned. "I'm tired."
She slipped beneath the covers and pulled Greyson down beside her.
"I can wake you up," Greyson murmured against her back.
Indianna laughed and linked her fingers with his.
"Tomorrow," she said softly before closing her eyes.
Greyson smirked and wrapped his arms around her, pulling her close.
"Of course."
It was pitch-black when Greyson woke. He looked down at Indianna, who was snuggled against his chest, and smiled.
"Happy birthday, sugar," he said softly.
He ran his fingers through her hair and leaned down to kiss her jaw.
"Greyson," Indianna said tiredly as she stirred awake.
"It's tomorrow," he murmured.
Indianna opened her eyes.
"What time is it? When I said tomorrow, I meant in the morning."
"It is morning," Greyson smirked. "Early morning."
"Greyson, you have a long drive today. I don't want you falling asleep—"
Greyson kissed her firmly and silenced her.
"Happy birthday," he whispered.
Indianna smiled against his lips and wrapped her arms around him.
They spent the rest of the early morning together before eventually falling back asleep.
Indianna didn't get much sleep for the rest of the night. She was lying beside Greyson, wrapped in the bedsheets with sparks still tingling between them.
"Tired?" Greyson asked smugly, noticing her tired expression.
"Exhausted," Indianna groaned. "You woke me at an ungodly hour!"
"Don't complain," Greyson smirked and kissed her temple. "You had a lovely time. Happy birthday, sugar."
Indianna smiled as Greyson ran his hand down her arm. She kissed him softly before turning serious.
"I think it's going to hurt to walk."
Greyson laughed and wrapped his arms around Indianna, pulling her close.
"I'm so glad I found you," he said quietly.
Indianna began to squirm beneath his intense gaze, and Greyson arched an eyebrow.
"Don't feel embarrassed," he said and placed his hands on either side of her waist.
"Well, you're just staring at me," Indianna muttered.
"I know."
"Stop staring."
"And why should I?" Greyson wondered.
"We're mates, and that means I get you all to myself, sugar."
"You're the only guy who has ever seen me like this," Indianna blurted.
Greyson nodded. "Good."
"It's still weird," she admitted. "I've never done this before, and you..."
"What?" Greyson asked.
"You have."
Greyson sensed a flare of jealousy from Indianna and smiled.
"Is somebody jealous?"
"No," Indianna muttered, avoiding his gaze. "Okay, a little bit!"
"Why? You know I wouldn't go near another girl."
"Not now," Indianna grumbled. "I remember the girls telling me when I arrived that you had been with half the school."
"Sh!" Greyson said sternly, placing his hand over Indianna's mouth. "Okay, yes, I was with a few girls, but that was long before you, Indie. There's no need to be jealous. I only have eyes for you."
Indianna sighed and nodded.
"Hey," Greyson snapped, lowering his face until it was inches from hers. "No pouting. It's your birthday, and I won't have you being anything other than happy."
"I'm fine," Indianna said softly and kissed Greyson.
"Promise?"
"Promise."
"Good. Then it's time for your present."
Greyson reached under the bed and lifted out a long velvet box.
Indianna sat up and pulled on one of Greyson's shirts before taking the box from him.
"It isn't going to open itself," he said.
Indianna rolled her eyes but opened the box.
"Oh, Greyson," she gasped as she looked at the delicate bracelet inside.
It was white gold and absolutely gorgeous. It looked old-fashioned, but simple and lovely at the same time.
"It's beautiful."
"It belonged to my grandmother," Greyson said. He lifted the bracelet and took Indianna's wrist. "And now it's yours."
Indianna watched as Greyson secured the bracelet around her wrist. He then raised a charm—a small wolf with the letters G and I engraved into it—and attached it to one of the loops.
Indianna smiled.
"Greyson, I love it!" she squealed and wrapped her arms around his neck. "It's perfect. Thank you!"
Greyson smiled and kissed Indianna.
"I'm glad you like it."
"I love it," she repeated.
She looked into Greyson's eyes and raised her hand to his face, cupping his cheek.
"Greyson," she said softly, "I love you."
Greyson's eyes lit up.
"You do?"
"I do," Indianna smiled.
"You have no idea how long I've been waiting for you to properly say that," Greyson whispered.
He kissed her forehead.
"I love you, sugar."
