"The gentle countryside is the hero's grave—these words could not be truer."

On the bed, Bai Xu was still reminiscing about last night's madness, his gaze growing increasingly greedy as he stared at Gu Yuena, who was clad in the Spirit Pagoda's uniform. It seemed his interest had been reignited.

He sighed softly. "To think it could make one sink so deeply into indulgence..."

Gu Yuena crossed her arms in front of her chest, taking a step back as she glared at him with a mix of embarrassment and anger. "Haven't you had enough?!" Her body still tingled faintly, her mind involuntarily replaying Bai Xu's bold actions from the night before—how utterly shameless!

Yet, she didn't actually dislike intimate moments with Bai Xu. She simply preferred taking the initiative rather than being forced to endure his advances.

Besides... although Bai Xu hadn't taken her body last night, he had done everything else. And he had even tied her up—those humiliating positions! She would definitely pay him back for that sooner or later.

But not now.

Seeing the increasingly dangerous glint in Bai Xu's eyes, she hurriedly stepped out of the wooden cabin and said coldly, "Let's go. Get up already!"

"Alright."

The two of them soared through the sky, and after two days of travel, they soon arrived at the Spirit Pagoda in the Fire Basin. The pagoda was situated in a small city, specifically providing spirit soul services to the Blood God Legion, which guarded the entrance to the Abyss. The prices here were much cheaper than elsewhere, and military merits could also be exchanged for spirit souls—all to maximize the strength of the defensive forces.

Gu Yuena glanced at Bai Xu, who had returned to his usual demeanor: aloof and transcendent. She couldn't help but purse her lips—he was like a completely different person from the one in bed last night.

"I feel like you're thinking something inappropriate," Bai Xu remarked, turning his head to look at her.

"I'm not."

Since they had already communicated their arrival time with the Spirit Pagoda in the Fire Basin, someone was waiting at the entrance to greet the young elites from the headquarters.

As the two figures approached, a spirit master hurried forward and greeted them respectfully, "You must be Spirit Masters Gu Yuena and Bai Xu, correct?"

"Yes."/"Yes."

"Please follow me. Your accommodations have already been arranged. A high-ranking official from the Spirit Pagoda within the Blood God Legion will provide you with the most convenient access. Allow me to brief you on the local situation." The spirit master led them into an elevator, continuously explaining the region's circumstances.

The Blood God Legion was stationed in the Endless Mountains at an altitude of over 6,000 meters. This legion was not part of the federal military's official hierarchy—it was a completely unique entity, guarding a little-known secret realm on the continent.

Only true elites were qualified to join this legion. And the only organizations with the authority to recommend soldiers here were a select few: Shrek Academy, the Tang Sect, the War God Hall, the Spirit Pagoda, and a handful of ancient soul master clans with long-standing legacies.

There were no weaklings here—because the weak simply could not survive.

"Since the two of you have come here, you must already be aware of the secrets of the Abyss. The Douluo Continent is far from peaceful; it faces many threats, and the Abyssal creatures are one of them. The Endless Mountains originally did not belong to the Douluo Continent. They were brought over due to tectonic shifts when the Sun Moon Continent collided with ours. It's unclear whether the collision caused spatial distortions, but within these mountains, a strange spatial passage appeared. The emergence of a spatial passage can shorten the distance between dimensions, even allowing two distant worlds to connect through it. Creatures could traverse the spatial tunnel and cross into another dimension in a short time."

"Such a passage appeared in the Endless Mountains. At first, the entrance was small, and due to the remote location, no one noticed it. But as time passed, the passage grew larger, and creatures from another dimension began entering our world through it. We call these creatures Abyssal beings. The nature of Abyssal creatures is destruction and devouring. They consume all living things—whether animals or plants—leaving nothing alive in their wake, like locusts stripping the land bare. They are filled with madness, even disregarding their own survival, as if their sole purpose is to annihilate the Douluo Continent. Fortunately, at that time, the Federation's technology had advanced enough to detect their presence early, preventing the disaster from spreading into the mainland."

"Back then, the Federation mobilized over two-thirds of its military forces to suppress the Abyssal creatures. With the combined efforts of Shrek Academy, the Tang Sect, the Spirit Pagoda, and the War God Hall—alongside eleven federal mecha legions and an incalculable number of fixed soul ammunition shells—they managed to drive the Abyssal creatures back into the passage. In that battle alone, more than 200,000 lives were lost. The master of the Tang Sect's Battle Hall at the time fell in combat against an Abyssal Emperor. Four of that generation's Shrek Seven Monsters perished. Ten of the War God Hall's eighteen War Gods died. Three of the Spirit Pagoda's four chief envoys were killed, and of the two tower masters, one died while the other was severely injured."

Hearing this, even though Gu Yuena already knew the future, she couldn't help but feel shocked. The ruler of the Abyssal Plane possessed strength at the level of a first-grade deity, wielding the super divine weapon, the Heavenly Sacred Splitting Abyss Halberd. His power was immense—but unfortunately, his arrogance led to his downfall under Tang San's schemes.

"We're already aware of all this. When can we head to the Blood God Legion?" Bai Xu asked.

"Tomorrow. Please remember to bring your letters of recommendation. There are no transportation methods in the Endless Mountains—you'll have to rely on your own abilities to climb. Once you reach the military camp, simply present your letters to the officials."

Sensing Bai Xu's indifferent attitude, the spirit master stopped elaborating and left after escorting them to their accommodations.

Gu Yuena stood in her room, her violet eyes flickering as she activated her soul communicator. "Di Tian."

"My Sovereign!"

"How is the Beast Platform?"

Di Tian replied, "My Queen, with the Dragon God Core, the small plane has stabilized. The two guardians are in place, and everything is secure."

"Good. Retrieve the Dragon God Core—I'm in the Endless Mountains," Gu Yuena said softly.

"As you command."

Both Tang Wulin and Gu Yuena could absorb the energy of the Abyssal Plane. If the Abyssal Sage King were to take action, she needed a trump card to ensure her survival.

Moreover, with the Dragon God Core, she would no longer have to fear Bai Xu's silver dragon-suppressing formations.

Knock, knock, knock!

A sudden rapping at the door startled her.

Bai Xu pushed the door open and said, "Let's go. Time for dinner. We depart tomorrow."

"Alright, coming."

Thankfully, he didn't hear anything.

Gu Yuena followed behind Bai Xu and asked, "How do you plan to absorb the Abyssal Plane's energy? If I recall correctly, only the Golden Dragon Spear and the Silver Dragon Spear on the Douluo Continent are capable of devouring it—nothing else."

Bai Xu took out a small white seed and casually tossed it to the ground. In an instant, a willow sprouted, its faint, downy catkins drifting imperceptibly in the wind.

"Once I've analyzed the Abyssal energy," he said, "I will become the bane of the Abyssal Plane."
