Since the newly established Team 11 was pretty new, they had to follow the same exact pattern as most teams do. Do tons of D rank missions while also training on the side.
The Hokage did remove the participation requirement for a certain amount of D rank and even a C rank missions done by a team to take part in the Chunin Exam from them, however, they had to complete as many C rank missions as possible before they enter the Chunin Exams.
Which everyone wished to do. Sukuna since he was tired of being a Genin and ordered around, especially tagging along with others for the mission. If it was up to him, he might as well go solo. Kiyomi because she wished to take her own solo missions, something related to finding how Itachi and who actually killed Izumi.
She did recall Izumi once telling her that the massacre of the Uchiha clan wasn't only done by Itachi, if anything Itachi was forced to do so. Now how much that was the truth, Kiyomi didn't know, however, by how much intel she knows so far, Itachi did indeed not kill Izumi. It was someone else.
So, she intended to find out who, everyone who was responsible for what happened back then and Izumi's death. She intended to find them and kill them.
Last, Karin. She didn't have much grander ambitions to be honest. However, she did wish to grow strong. If for nothing else then to be able to keep staying by Sukuna's side.
Not just once she had felt that if she wouldn't keep up, then by order or wish, they wouldn't be able to spend more time together.
Lastly but not least, Izumi Uchiha (the new one). What about her goals. What she wanted?
In reality, she herself was uncertain so far. She had no plans, no relationship, no goals. She was just going with the flow, and perhaps intended to find out why she has found herself in this world like this, alongside some people similar to her.
So, after that point onwards the routine for the new members of Team 11 was rather simple. Take D rank missions. Train whatever little they could train together and then go their own way.
Today was the same, but not before Sukuna finally got to spar with their new beloved sensei.
She was quite a fighter honestly, especially in Taijutsu. Made sense since back in JJK, Yuki Tsukumo's technique was mostly close range.
Sukuna still didn't have a 100% confirmation about her identity but he was like 99% assured she was Yuki. This spar would make sure he was right.
Other members of the team even had a match against her in closer combat and even she got original Izumi's genjutsu talent so she could be quite a deadly combination at times.
She took down Karin with three moves. First she hit hard, second she hit fast, and lastly when she is doing neither, you don't wanna look into her eyes. Mangekyo or not, she knows how to use that single Sharingan. And she fucks with your brain.
Karin was left with a nosebleed and completely red after one of her genjutsu. Wondered what she saw?
Kiyomi fared better against her, mostly her resistance to genjutsu with her superior eye power. But even her was no match in close combat.
And to be more clear, even Sasuke had trouble against her by pure raw power alone. She was much like Sakura in this regard. And she got knocked down by Izumi.
'Star Rage or originally Yuki puts it, Bom Ba Ye...'
Sukuna knew this old meme since he was a bit of a boxing fan in his last life, he himself learned boxing. The line referred to Muhammad Ali and George Foreman fight back in the day, when people shouted Ali to 'Ali Bomba Ye...' which roughly translates to 'Ali finish him...'
"This gonna be fun..." He smirked as he took a boxing stance in front of Izumi whose body didn't feel like made for close combat, which was rather true. Izumi wasn't a close combat fighter, however, ever since Yuki had possessed this body, she's been working out. The muscular lines and lightly bulging muscles said that pretty obviously.
Izumi was a bit tense about this one fight to be honest. She never fought Ryomen Sukuna before, however, she has witnessed Satoru Gojo and there was no doubt about it.
Gojo Satoru was a monster...!
And now she stood against someone who killed the said monster. What is she supposed to call him, Monster Slayer... a bigger monster.
So yeah she was tense. Even if this was just a spar. The boy didn't show any typical villain-like traits so far at least.
When he took that stance though, Izumi blinked with surprise. That familiar stance almost made her think that she was back in a boxing ring she used to play at in her off days, just for fun.
"Ye into boxing?"
"A bit..."
"Who's your favourite. Many younger ones like Tyson...?"
"Yeah he's good. But I go for the OG." Sukuna smirked.
"Let Bom Ba Ye..." He grinned.
Izumi found herself blinking again, someone really knew that old line, and in another world too.
Her earlier stiff face fell into a slight chuckling. Either this bastard knew her well or she genuinely found a boxing nerd like her in another world. Both were interesting outcome.
And the next second Yuki moved, punch heavier than a tree trunk rushing at Sukuna in the blink of an eye. Yuki wasn't playing house with this member of the party. To see what he's capable of, she'll have to push her own limits.
No seals, no chakra flare—just raw momentum and cursed energy reinforcing her muscles. Her punch snapped toward his ribs, sharp and efficient. Sukuna slipped inside the arc, elbow cutting down toward her shoulder. She twisted, letting the blow slide past, and answered with a palm strike aimed straight for his sternum.
Contact.
Sukuna skidded back half a step, boots carving lines in the dirt. He raised a brow. 'Just as I thought, it's incredibly hard to figure out whether she is using her technique or not.'
That punch definitely was with her technique but that palm strike, that was normal CE reinforcement.
Or is it that she can only use her technique in certain forms of attack? Gotta figure that out.
"Reincarnation does wonders for confidence," she cheerfully stated, only so that they two can hear it, already moving again.
Her Sharingan flared, genjutsu bleeding through her gaze. Even for someone who hadn't used genjutsu once in her life, she found this body just knew what to do. She thought and it happened. Muscle memory, perhaps, but she controlled genjutsu like she's been doing it for decades.
On the other hand, it was her technique which had a problem adapting with this body. Simply speaking, this body wasn't strong enough to reach higher mass, she had to undergo a self-imposed training plan.
Not to say that original Izumi was unfit, not at all, But she lacked muscles. More of a Genjutsu stype and use Chakra for any forms of enhancement if needed. That type of body wasn't right for Yuki's technique.
Good for her, since there wasn't much to do while she was being treated as a lab rat in the hospital.
Sukuna clicked his tongue and the genjutsu broke before even he knew she did something; his genjutsu resistance was as high as it always been. Ducking under a sweeping punch he went for a quick jab but Izumi, or Yuki in this regard, was an experienced fighter when it comes to close combat; she bent her body at a slight angle to dodge away.
"Strange, you broke free rather quickly..." Izumi narrowed her eyes. Kiyomi did it too, but at least she had the Mangekyo in her defence. Why this boy. Or being the King of Curses comes with privileges she wasn't aware of.
"Genjutsu in a spar, especially when we're clearly in the mood of Taijutsu. Come on, don't be boring." Sukuna smirked. Not planning to answer how he did it. Because he didn't feel anything in the first place.
"Fine... but you asked for it," Yuki smirked back.
They collided again, and this time Sukuna clearly saw the difference. That impact was bone-shattering.
He stayed still by purely physical might, but his hand felt numb.
He grumbled internally, 'Gotta train more in my CE reinforcement, swear to god I have been avoiding that since Kamui.'
Kamui means nothing could touch him, this led to him not getting hit, period. This was good, but it hindered his cursed energy reinforcement which not only improves speed, physical power but more than anything, defence.
Izumi fought looser, the attacks were mostly straightforward, however, she got that back alley street fight style more than a professional fighter vibe.
Predicting her for this reason was a bit harder. But Sukuna too got Sharingan. And it's always in Mangekyo form. Even if he can't predict, then rather just use his original eyes at this point.
He did start to predict, making Izumi miss more now.
She increased the cursed energy reinforcing her joints, her timing sharpened by the Sharingan's predictive edge.
She feinted left, then suddenly grabbed his sleeve and tried to throw him. It wasn't as boxing as he thought it would be, more like free form fighting.
Sukuna allowed it—then reversed the grip mid-fall, twisting and dumping her onto her back instead.
Dust puffed up. Izumi lay there for a second, blinking, then burst out laughing. "Okay, that was smooth."
He shrugged, "What can I say, that how I operate..."
She laughed again with a bit of smirk blended in then got up with a jump, a bit more serious now.
"You're not using your technique..."
Sukuna smirked. "I don't need it."
Izumi cracked her knuckles. "You should, cause I'm gonna go serious now."
Sukuna could feel the CE rolling off of her.
That just increased his amusement. "Make me..." He grinned, once again taking a fighting stance.
