The next morning, I woke up still exhausted from yesterday's chaos with the Skull Rider. My body ached, but the soft mattress beneath me almost made me forget the pain. I looked around, still not believing I'd slept in a luxurious hotel room like this. The golden drapes swayed gently with the morning wind, and the faint scent of lavender filled the air.
I sighed, stretched, then reached into the system inventory and pulled out a healing potion.
With one gulp, warmth surged through my body. The dull pain faded and the stiffness in my left arm disappeared. I peeled away the bandages — the skin beneath was flawless again.
After a quick bath, I dressed up and left to find Mr. Boros with the Skull Rider.
The old man had dropped a location on my device, and following it led me to a run-down building at the edge of the city.
When I entered, Boros looked up from an old chair.
"Had a good night's rest?" he asked casually.
"Yeah," I replied, stretching.
"Good. Then we're heading to Libra Academy."
"Libra…?" I blinked.
He nodded. "If a student doesn't appear and register within two days, their admission is revoked."
"What?!" I straightened up. "Then we can still make it?"
"Of course." Boros smirked. "My first student, Yurei, just finished his mission nearby. We'll meet him on the way."
Without another word, Boros levitated into the air. "Follow me."
I hopped onto the Skull Rider, and we soared across the city, heading toward a dense forest. The air grew heavier as we entered the trees. Shadows stretched long under the dim light.
Boros landed beside me and took out his phone. "He's here," he muttered.
"What kind of mission is your student on?" I asked, glancing around. "There's no gate around here."
"As much as we fight Voidspawn," Boros said, his tone hardening, "the worst monsters you'll ever face are humans. Greed, cruelty… some students are assigned to eliminate dangerous criminals — human traffickers, murderers, worse."
He stopped mid-sentence, eyes shifting toward the darker part of the forest.
"Wait… he's here."
A faint crunch of footsteps echoed from the shadows — deliberate, steady, confident.
Then came the pressure. A bloodlust so sharp it prickled my skin, the kind that made my instincts scream danger.
From between the trees emerged a tall figure. His frame was lean, built for speed and precision rather than brute strength.
Dark navy hair, slightly messy, framed a pale face and calm, violet eyes that looked through me, not at me.
He wore his academy uniform perfectly — black slacks, white shirt, and a coat draped neatly over his shoulders. On his back rested a katana, its hilt wrapped in faintly glowing purple thread. But what caught my attention most… was the blood on his right hand.
"Yurei!" Boros barked. "Why didn't you finish sooner? And is that your blood?"
Yurei stopped, his expression unreadable.
"There were more A-rank criminals than expected," he said calmly. "And no — this isn't mine."
He stepped closer.
"Renji," Boros said, turning to me, "meet Yurei Velkar, also known as the Silent Web of Libra — my first student."
I straightened instinctively as he extended his hand.
"Renji, right?" he said, his tone surprisingly warm. "Must've been tough following someone like Boros."
I laughed weakly. "Yeah, he kinda just showed up and declared me his student."
Yurei chuckled. "Exactly what he did to me three years ago."
My eyes widened. "You're… a third-year?"
He nodded. "Yup."
Then he tapped my shoulder. "Alpha Killer, huh? I too had that name. Don't look so tense. With time and achievement, nicknames change."
I couldn't help but smile a little. "Thanks, senior."
Boros cleared his throat. "Alright, you two. Let's head to Libra."
Yurei unsheathed his katana. The blade gleamed black, rippling faintly with violet light. Its edge looked impossibly sharp — almost alive. The engravings along it pulsed like veins.
My eyes widened as Boros muttered, "So this is the Spider of Sound…"
"Spider of what?" I asked.
"It's forged from Voidsteel and Echocrystal — a rare mineral that resonates with sound frequency. Dangerous, but beautiful," Boros explained.
Yurei raised the sword, sliced vertically through thin air, and whispered a single word
"Abrir."
The air split open into a glowing violet rift.
"Let's go," Yurei said.
Boros floated in first. I followed on the Skull Rider, and in an instant, we stepped through to another location.
A bustling city stretched before us — floating cars, glowing billboards, people rushing by in uniforms and suits.
"Keep up," Boros called from above as he levitated.
Yurei climbed onto the Skull Rider beside me, and we soared through the metallic skyline until a massive structure came into view.
The gates of Libra Academy.
The wall bore a golden crest — an eagle on the left side, tiger on the right side , elephant below , and lion above with a menacing look
all circling a radiant balance scale. Beneath it, words carved in gold read:
"Welcome to Libra Academy."
Even before we entered, I could feel the power radiating from the guards stationed there — calm, disciplined, terrifyingly strong.
As we landed, Yurei pulled out his watch. A holographic screen flickered to life, displaying his profile. One of the guards instantly straightened.
"Mr. Yurei! My apologies, I didn't recognize you!"
"It's fine," Yurei said with a nod.
Then Boros descended.
"Good morning, sir!" the guards said, saluting with their right arms over their heads.
"At ease," Boros replied. "This is my new student. We were attacked on the way — he's with us."
The guards stepped aside and opened the enormous gate.
We walked through as the city's hum faded behind us. Ahead stood a glowing altar, a floating blue stone at its center pulsing with power.
"Teleportation unit," Boros said, scanning it with his watch.
The rune symbols on the stone flared bright, and the world around us warped again—
—straight to Libra Academy.
