Chapter 239 - Chapter 239 Abomination

Blonsky stripped off his outer clothes and lay on the surgical bed wearing only his underwear.

To prevent the experiment from causing a rampage due to an accident, Dr. Sterns inserted syringes into both of his arms, with the tubing connected to storage tanks filled with the suppression serum.

In addition to this, the guards bound Blonsky with strips of special fabric as strong as steel, anchoring the other ends of the straps to the floor and walls.

Blonsky was trussed up like a turkey, with only his head and the injection sites exposed.

With all preparations complete, Dr. Sterns took out the newly formulated serum and slowly injected it.

Moments later, Blonsky's body began to change.

His heart rate, blood pressure, body temperature, and adrenaline levels began to skyrocket. Simultaneously, his bones and muscles started to expand.

These changes were similar to the previous three test subjects. The only difference was that while the others' skin turned red after the injection, Blonsky's skin was shifting toward a dark, murky hue.

"ARGH!!!"

After holding out for a few seconds, Blonsky finally couldn't help but howl, veins bulging all over his body like they were about to burst.

As the serum entered his system, it rapidly broke down his original cells, altering his genetic sequence and causing rapid division.

The atmosphere in the laboratory was heavy. Aside from Blonsky's wailing, everyone held their breath, their expressions grave.

Jason gripped his longsword tightly, staring at him unblinkingly.

At the first sign of Blonsky losing control, he would drive the sword, filled with suppression serum, straight into his body.

Over ten seconds later, Blonsky's height surpassed 2.5 meters, reaching the same progression point as the third subject. The muscle definition on his body became even more exaggerated than a medieval sculpture.

The experiment had entered the critical phase; everyone was praying silently in their hearts.

Rip!

Several strips of the special fabric were torn apart by the hardening muscles, yet Blonsky's growth continued.

"There's a chance! There's a chance this time!" Dr. Sterns yelled excitedly as he observed through the monitor.

Blonsky's body grew larger and larger, and also uglier and uglier.

Not only did all his hair fall out, but his skin became rough and black, and spikes resembling those of a Stegosaurus emerged along his spine.

Noticing this, the excitement in Jason's eyes began to wane.

He looked at Blonsky, who was becoming a monster, and started to think.

Why was Banner's transformation into Hulk so majestic and domineering, while this guy is turning into a hideous abomination?

In all fairness, as the honorary lifetime president of the Appearance Association, Jason didn't want his ace soldiers to look like this. It was too embarrassing.

Could it be related to that issue? Jason speculated.

After Blonsky and the special ops team were captured, they were interrogated and examined.

Based on his comrades' conjectures and the blood serum analysis, he had previously injected some kind of genetic serum. Perhaps the conflict between two different serums caused this situation.

While Jason was letting his thoughts wander, Blonsky's transformation concluded.

His massive frame broke free from the remaining special fabric, flattening the surgical bed and even snapping the steel needles of the syringes.

When he slowly stood up from the ground, a hideous monster over three meters tall stood before them.

"Hoo..."

The transformation ended, and the agony that felt like it was tearing his body apart receded like the tide.

Blonsky panted heavily, looking himself up and down.

Clenching his fists, a power he had never dared to dream of surged forth.

"This power..."

His eyes glowed; he was evidently extremely satisfied with the result of this experiment.

Turning his head, his terrifying gaze swept over the faces of the three accomplices.

In their expressions, Blonsky read vigilance, shock, and a hint of fear—a world of difference from their previous arrogant attitudes.

This is all because I have obtained nearly invincible power.

Blonsky's eyes were filled with excitement and joy.

After silently scanning the room, his gaze returned to Jason.

Still that same calm, ripple-less expression.

Blonsky felt a sudden wariness, the excitement in his eyes completely replaced by caution.

The man before him had created too many miracles, playing both S.H.I.E.L.D. and the government like fiddles.

Blonsky could underestimate anyone, but he dared not underestimate Jason.

Both sides sized each other up. After looking him up and down a few times, Jason frowned and spoke with disgust.

"Ugly. Too ugly. So ugly it fucking hurts my eyes!"

Hearing this, Blonsky burned with rage. A bestial sound rumbled in his throat, and his eyes turned tyrannical.

The three accomplices were both speechless and impressed. Facing such a troublesome enemy, the boss still had the mind to mock his looks.

After two injections of the Super Soldier Serum, Blonsky's temper was like a powder keg, ready to explode at a spark—now even more so.

But facing Jason's insult, even though he was angry enough to explode, he ultimately had to unclench his fists resentfully.

Seeing this, Jason's eyes lit up, showing a bit more appreciation.

"Interesting. You turned into a monster but managed to keep your sanity. I thought you'd try to smash me flat with one punch!"

What he needed was a super soldier who obeyed orders, not a destructive man-child like the Hulk.

Although the principle was unknown for now, Blonsky's transformation was clearly different from Banner's.

When Banner transformed, his personality was temporarily commandeered by Hulk, whereas Blonsky did not develop a second personality.

"You dared to let me inject the serum, so you must have a backup plan. The leader of the Joker organization wouldn't be stupid, and I won't be impulsive."

His low, raspy voice was grating to hear.

"Hmph, a wise choice." Jason snorted coldly, holding his longsword.

"Since your transformation was a success, you will stay in the organization from now on. Your serum and combat power are still of some use."

Hearing this, Blonsky frowned.

The tone of Jason's voice was purely that of giving orders, showing him no respect whatsoever. This made Blonsky extremely unhappy.

"Stay here? You still want to treat me like livestock and lock me in an iron cage?"

Jason shook his head disdainfully. "True, an iron cage won't hold a guy your size. We'll have to find a new place to pen you up."

"Enough!"

Blonsky's eyes were filled with hatred.

"I hope you don't misunderstand. I don't want to conflict with you, but that doesn't mean I will submit to you."

"Is that so?" Jason tightened his grip on the longsword.

Blonsky said seriously, "I won't join the Joker organization, nor will I return to the army to be a lab rat. I am me. No one can command me anymore. Saying this before might have been a fool's dream, but now..."

With that, he turned around. "We won't cross each other. If fate allows, we'll meet again."

Blonsky strode out of the stronghold. The three tensed up, waiting for Jason's order.

But Jason just stood there watching him, showing no intention of attacking.

When the figure disappeared, Harley asked with dissatisfaction, "Honey, you're just letting it go?"

Jason sheathed his longsword. "Of course not. I just hate fighting that kind of monster. I want to use a more relaxing method."

The three looked at each other.

Other than a gang beating, what method was more relaxing?

Jason didn't explain. He called the research staff in. "With Blonsky in this state, does it count as a successful experiment?"

The group gathered to discuss for a moment before Dr. Sterns answered, "We can't be sure yet; we need his serum for genetic analysis. But what is certain is that Blonsky's successful transformation is a milestone for perfecting the serum."

Jason nodded, seeming to have guessed the answer.

"You said you just need the serum. That means it doesn't matter if it's from a living person or a corpse, right?"

Dr. Sterns nodded seriously. "Correct!"

"Hmph, then it couldn't be simpler."
