Sam initially thought that after Rayquaza defeated Deoxys, the Meteorite event would finally be over.

Even if it wasn't the end, he expected at least a moment of peace.

But fate had other plans.

Only a short time had passed before it happened again.

Without warning, the entire Slateport City erupted with blaring sirens.

Red emergency lights flashed across rooftops as the alarm system echoed through every street.

This meteor shower was even bigger than last time.

After the disaster, everyone had learned to take such warnings seriously.

Now, the city was in chaos once more.

Officer Jenny's voice cut through the panic as she led a team of investigators down the main avenue.

Her megaphone blared:

"Attention, everyone! Stay indoors and watch for falling meteorites! This is not a drill!"

But no matter how loud she shouted, fear still gripped the people.

Families rushed into their homes; shopkeepers hurriedly pulled down metal shutters.

Slateport, usually a bustling port city, was now a storm of confusion and fear again.

From a rooftop, Sam stood quietly, watching the chaos below.

His brows furrowed as he reached into his coat and pulled out the Light Stone.

He could feel the warmth pulsing from it, a sacred energy waiting to awaken.

He took a deep breath and focused his power.

In an instant, the Light Stone blazed with a soft, milky-white glow.

A deep, ancient roar split the sky.

"Hoooohhh!"

The Holy White Dragon—Reshiram—emerged in a brilliant flash of light.

Its majestic wings unfurled, casting a warm glow across the trembling city.

The citizens froze, their fear replaced by awe.

Even Officer Jenny looked up, momentarily speechless.

Then she quickly grabbed her loudspeaker again.

"Everyone, don't panic!" she shouted.

"That's Professor Samuel from the Sinnoh Region—and Champion Cynthia! Their Pokémon will protect the city! Stay calm and stay indoors!"

People stopped running.

They gazed at the sky, hope flickering in their eyes.

Just then, a smaller meteorite broke through the clouds, descending fast toward the city.

Sam's expression hardened.

"Reshiram—Dragon Claw!" he commanded sharply.

He turned to his other partner.

"Draco—Fire Punch!"

Both Pokémon launched into the sky like streaks of light.

Their roars merged with the sound of the wind as they struck.

BOOM!

The meteorite shattered midair, fragments scattering harmlessly into the ocean and distant fields.

The citizens below cheered.

Relief swept through the crowd like a tide.

The meteor shower continued for nearly an hour.

One after another, glowing streaks fell from the heavens, and Reshiram and Dragonite tirelessly intercepted each one.

By the time it was over, the night sky had quieted again, filled only with drifting smoke and faint stars.

When dawn arrived, Slateport was still standing.

Tired but safe.

The next morning, Sam, Cynthia, and Officer Jenny gathered in the Slateport Search Department.

A small television in the corner played the morning news.

"According to our report," said the anchor, "the entire Hoenn Region witnessed the largest meteor shower in recorded history last night. Several cities—Rustboro, Mossdeep, Lilycove, and Petalburg—have suffered severe damage.

Petalburg City was hit the hardest. Multiple meteorite fragments crashed into Petalburg Woods, causing widespread fires.

The Hoenn Alliance has yet to release an official statement on the cause of these meteorite falls. We will continue to provide updates as we receive them."

Jenny sighed heavily. Her eyes were red from exhaustion, dark circles visible under them.

"If it weren't for you two," she said weakly,

"Slateport might've been the worst hit."

Cynthia smiled faintly, brushing a few strands of hair behind her ear.

"It's fine," she said.

"We help where we can."

Sam didn't say anything.

He looked at the TV, expression unreadable.

He knew this wasn't over.

If Rayquaza had already dealt with Deoxys…

Then what was causing this new wave of meteorites?

Just as Sam was lost in thought, Cynthia's phone began to ring.

The caller ID flashed across the screen — Wallace.

She answered immediately.

"Wallace? …Yes, we're in Slateport. What's going on?"

Her calm expression shifted slightly as she listened.

After a long silence, she nodded.

"I see."

When the call ended, she turned to Sam, her tone serious.

"Wallace wants us to come to Ever Grande City. It sounds urgent."

Sam didn't hesitate.

"Let's go."

The two gathered their gear and left Slateport without delay.

Ever Grande City — the capital of the Hoenn League.

Its grand marble towers shimmered under the morning sun, but today, the usual brilliance felt heavy and subdued.

Inside the League's main conference chamber, the air was thick with tension.

All the key figures of Hoenn had gathered: the eight Gym Leaders, the members of the Elite Four, the Champion Wallace, and even Steven Stone, former Champion and one of the region's most respected trainers.

Beside Steven sat his father, Mr. Stone, the president of Devon Corporation.

Even he, a man rarely seen outside of his company's boardroom, had come in person.

When Sam and Cynthia entered, the low murmur in the room quieted instantly.

Wallace stood from his seat at the head of the table.

"Thank you for coming on such short notice," he said solemnly.

"We're in serious trouble."

He pressed a button on a small remote.

The room lights dimmed, and a holographic image appeared on the screen — a massive, fiery rock drifting through the void of space.

"This," Wallace said, voice grim, "is the source of the meteor showers."

He gestured toward the data displayed alongside the image.

"According to Mossdeep Space Center's latest observations, this meteorite is roughly 200 square kilometers in size and weighs an estimated eight thousand tons. It's currently on a collision course with the us."

A wave of shock rippled through the room.

Even veteran trainers like Drake and Flannery couldn't hide their disbelief.

Someone spoke up from the far end of the table.

"Two hundred square kilometers? Eight thousand tons? That's… insane! How bad will it be if it hits?"

Wallace looked around the room, his expression grave.

"To put it simply," he said, "this meteorite is nearly the size of an entire city. If it strikes land, even just the impact shockwave could erase a small city from the map."

The projection shifted, showing simulated data, a massive explosion followed by a wall of water.

"If it lands in the ocean," Wallace continued,

"the resulting tsunami could reach thousands of meters high. The wave alone could devastate our coastal cities."

The room fell silent.

Wallace's voice lowered.

"And that's not the worst of it. The impact could alter the planet's climate, triggering extreme weather patterns and ecological collapse across the entire region."

He paused, then spoke the words no one wanted to hear.

"If the meteorite penetrates the crust, it could even reactivate the dormant volcanic systems under Hoenn. The entire region could become uninhabitable."

A chill ran down Sam's spine. He glanced at the others, every face around the table had gone pale.

Wallace looked at each of them in turn, his tone heavy and unflinching.

"If this meteorite lands… Hoenn will become a wasteland."

He pressed another button, zooming out the projection to show the world map.

"The neighboring regions — Kanto, Johto, even Sinnoh — will also suffer from the aftermath. The shockwaves, the ash, the climate shift… none of us will escape untouched."

He took a deep breath.

"In short, this isn't just a regional disaster. It's a world-ending crisis."

The room went deathly quiet.

Even the hum of the projector seemed to fade away.

The words "world-ending crisis" echoed in everyone's mind.

No one dared to speak, not even Steven, who sat motionless, his hands clasped tightly.

Cynthia's expression was calm, but her eyes reflected a quiet determination.

Sam, meanwhile, lowered his gaze slightly.

He already knew, in every version of this world's history he'd read or watched, nothing on this scale had ever happened.

This wasn't in the script.

Something far beyond human understanding was at play.

And once again, he found himself standing at the center of it.
