Chapter 91 - Chapter 91: The Tragic Kong

The Chapter get Retranslated

"Hahaha! Old Man Garp, if this is all the strength you have, you'll never catch me!" Ye Chen laughed heartily. The katana in his hand was a blur of motion as several sword qi slashes whistled through the air, stacking upon one another with a piercing howl that rent the atmosphere.

"Hmph! Catching a brat like you is child's play for this old man," Garp snorted coldly. He threw out a heavy, jet-black punch.

The sword qi instantly shattered, vanishing into thin air.

The moment the sword energy dissipated, Garp didn't slow down for a second. His feet slammed against the ground, executing Geppo to propel himself forward, his momentum exploding with the boost. In a single heartbeat, he crossed over a dozen meters to stand directly before Ye Chen.

"This is the Fist of Justice!" Garp's expression turned solemn as he let out a furious roar. A highly condensed shroud of Armament Haki instantly covered his limb, and he threw a punch toward Ye Chen that carried the force of a heavy artillery strike.

"Old Man Garp, you're way too old to be this much of an edgelord," Ye Chen laughed, completely unfazed.

Mid-sentence, Ye Chen took a step back. His katana swept across his front, overflowing with sword qi that radiated a brilliant white light.

Boom! Boom! Boom!

In the sparks of the collision, the two forces slammed together.

A shockwave immediately spiraled out from the center of their impact. The ground beneath them gave way first, collapsing half a meter deep, followed by spiderweb-like cracks that surged through the surrounding area.

"How could a criminal of your caliber ever understand our justice?!" Garp's eyes bulged with rage as he unleashed a roar filled with boundless fury.

As his voice fell, the ground beneath Ye Chen cracked further, and his feet sank deep into the earth.

This old man Garp is going insane. Ye Chen was secretly startled by the sudden eruption of power from the fist. The force exploding from Garp was at least several times greater than before; had it been any less, Garp wouldn't have been able to suppress him like this.

"Brat, this is but half of my strength," Garp mocked, seeing that he had Ye Chen pinned down.

Ye Chen's lips curled into a faint smile. "What a coincidence," he laughed, "I was only using ten percent."

As he spoke, his katana became wreathed in a ghastly, pale white sword qi. Suddenly, Ye Chen shifted his body to the side. Gripping his katana with both hands, his face flushed red as he executed an Upward Slash.

Clang! Clang! Clang!

The sound of metal clashing against metal rang out incessantly as countless sparks flew from Garp's arm.

"What..." Garp's pupils shrank. His face was a mask of unshielded shock and horror.

Garp only saw a flash of blade-light before his body was launched into the sky, sent flying by the force of the Upward Slash. He kicked several times against the air to stabilize himself, using the momentum to slowly descend back to the ground.

By the time he landed, Ye Chen had already settled into a strange posture, his eyes locked onto Garp.

"Come then, Garp. I'll let you see five percent of my true power," Ye Chen said.

Before his voice had even faded, Ye Chen slashed out dozens of times in the air, the strikes interlacing into a lethal web.

"Illusion Sword Dance!"

As Ye Chen shouted the name of the technique, the final strike was completed. All the sword qi converged instantly, sweeping forward with an unstoppable force that promised total destruction. The very topsoil was ripped from the earth, and the dust was cleaved in two. It seemed as if everything in the path of this strike had to either dodge or be obliterated.

"Iron Wall!" Garp didn't dare to be arrogant. He used a physical technique even more advanced than the standard Iron Body.

Armament Haki instantly coated his entire body, gleaming with a metallic luster. In that moment, Garp's presence became incredibly dense and steady, making him look like an indestructible wall of iron.

Boom! Boom! Boom!

A staggering explosion shook the area, and a massive curtain of dust rose into the air.

"Damn it, why is this thing so persistent?" Sengoku's face was as dark as a storm cloud, his eyes fixed firmly on Slifer the Sky Dragon circling above.

Since the battle with Emperor Descend had broken out, he had been fighting Slifer for a long time. However, no matter what attack he used, it seemed as if he couldn't inflict even a sliver of damage on the dragon. Whether it was his Devil Fruit abilities or his own taijutsu, nothing produced an effective result.

Instead, Slifer's Lightning Blasts had left him in a rather pathetic state.

Sengoku had eaten the Mythical Zoan Human-Human Fruit, Model: Daibutsu a creature that existed only in myth and legend. It was a being that did not belong in the mortal world.

Yet, Slifer was a true God. In theory, a God and a Buddha should be equal. However, Sengoku only possessed the ability of a Buddha; he was not a Buddha himself. A vast chasm lay between them, like a celestial moat that could not be crossed.

High above, Slifer circled, looking down at Sengoku with eyes full of contempt. Its massive, fanged maw opened, and strands of lightning began to coalesce.

No, it's not a lightning ball. Sengoku's heart skipped a beat as he watched Slifer prepare its attack. He didn't dare to be negligent, his expression becoming extremely grim. Having watched Slifer closely, he realized this ability was different from the previous ones.

A Lightning Blast didn't require much time to charge; Slifer could manifest one in an instant. But now, a black light was gathering in Slifer's mouth, condensing for a significant amount of time. It was clearly not a Lightning Blast, but something else entirely.

Sengoku's heart grew heavy. If Slifer needed this long to gather energy, the coming attack would surely be extraordinary.

"I can't let him fire that!" Sengoku hardened his resolve.

But at that moment, a figure suddenly rushed into the fray and appeared before Sengoku.

"Sengoku, what is happening here?" Kong asked as he approached.

"Commander Kong! Go and help Garp subdue Ye Chen first. I'll stall this thing here!"

Kong hesitated for a moment when he heard Sengoku's voice. He could see that the creature Sengoku was fighting was far from simple. However, the hesitation was only momentary. The Five Elders had long ago issued secret orders to capture or kill Ye Chen by any means necessary.

Without further delay, Kong turned and ran toward the other battlefield.

"You've got some moves, Garp," Ye Chen panted, his expression showing a trace of fatigue.

"Hmph. Looks like you're reaching your limit, kid. Surrender quietly," another voice snorted coldly.

Compared to the battle between Sengoku and Slifer, the fight between Garp and Ye Chen was far more frantic. Constant close-quarters combat had drained a massive amount of their physical stamina.

At that moment, the newly arrived Kong saw the weary Ye Chen and immediately roared, "Die!"

Ye Chen spun around at the sound of the voice to see a robust, powerful old man charging toward him.

Faced with Kong's assault, Ye Chen showed no fear. Instead, a smile played across his lips. His azure pupils suddenly flared with a vast, overwhelming power.

"Almighty Push!"
