Chapter 513: A Farce! Who is Arrogant? Who is Ill-Mannered?
Priscilla Barielle was a person who prided herself on her arrogant attitude and self-centered dominance. Even before becoming King, she looked down on others. After becoming King, ordinary people would probably be less than sand in her eyes. Her personality was inherently one of unadulterated arrogance.
She was simply not suitable to be King. Pampered since childhood, she could even say, "Don't make me laugh, apples are white." Her ignorance was almost terrifying.
In his opinion, none of these four were qualified. Even the initial Emilia was not much better. Being naive and overly kind were not shortcomings a King should have. However, the current Emilia, influenced by the Chat Group, was indeed the most qualified. She had learned a lot from Esdeath, Bronya, and Ying Zheng. She genuinely wanted to do something for the people.
"Silence!" a member of the Sage Council said, and the hall quieted. "Reinhardt, could you please describe the process of finding her?"
Reinhardt knelt. "I discovered Felt-sama in the slums about a month ago."
This statement immediately caused shock. "She's an orphan from the slums?!"
"It's truly my fault for being an orphan, isn't it? You're the ones who brought me here!" Faced with blatant disdain, Felt didn't tolerate it and retorted.
This was a farce.
Priscilla, watching, held a luxurious fan. "Always chattering on. It's too boring. It's because you only discuss boring topics that orphans are participating, isn't it?"
The disdain in her words made Felt extremely displeased. "If you want to fight, I'm ready."
"Presumptuous. Who do you think this one is?" Priscilla's eyes sharpened, and her fan swung down.
"Forgive me, Priscilla-sama." A surge of wind was blocked by Reinhardt, who suddenly appeared in front of Felt.
Compared to the others who were merely watching, Emilia directly stood in front of Felt. "In such an important occasion, what are you all thinking?"
Priscilla retracted her fan. "This one merely wished to teach the ill-mannered her place."
"This person's words are so infuriating," March 7th muttered.
Vivi also shook her head. "She is completely unaware that the 'ill-mannered' person she speaks of is herself."
"You used wind magic without permission. Shouldn't you apologize?" Emilia couldn't understand.
Priscilla glanced at her disdainfully. "If that's the case, do you need to apologize for being born, you silver-haired half-elf?"
Emilia's expression trembled. "I-I have nothing to do with the Witch."
Seeing the atmosphere become tense again, Marcos spoke. "Are you all satisfied? Then, all candidates, please come this way."
As he called out names, they delivered their declarations.
Priscilla: "The Royal Selection is meaningless. This one is the only one fit to be King. You only need to kneel."
Crusch: "When I become King, I will make the Dragon forget its covenant. The kingdom does not belong to the Dragon."
Anastasia: "I am very greedy, so I want everything. I want my own country."
"Felt-sama and her knight, Reinhardt van Astrea."
Felt: "Wait, I never said I wanted to be King! Who wants to participate in any Royal Selection?"
Marcos asked, "So, Felt-sama does not wish to be a candidate?"
Felt answered without hesitation, "Nonsense, dammit."
"Absurd!" A noble who had strong opinions about her immediately reprimanded her. "We didn't pursue it before, but making such a scene is simply outrageous!"
